A case study methodology is used with the actions taken to investigate a customer-reported failure explained. The highest priority failure hypothesis was found to be unrelated to the failure. Two medium-rated hypotheses were found to be causing the problem; leakage was occurring at the connection between two components due to a diameter deviation of one of the components. Identifying and prioritizing hypotheses from the Ishikawa diagram provided structure to the investigation and gave the investigation team leader a tool for tracking the investigation actions. This approach is suitable for all types of failure investigations in which an Ishikawa diagram is used to list hypotheses.","PeriodicalId":44097,"journal":{"name":"Management Systems in Production Engineering","volume":" 5","pages":"381 - 388"},"PeriodicalIF":1.5,"publicationDate":"2023-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138619597","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A key performance indicator is a measurable indicator that expresses how effectively the company achieves key goals in both production and non-production areas. As part of the research, various process key performance indicators characterizing product quality were identified. The indicator of the number of faulty products in relation to the volume of production (EXTppm) was chosen for the research. The monthly development of EXTppm in the course of 2022 and the long-term development in the years 2012-2022 were evaluated. The research was also devoted to the analysis of the reasons for not achieving the KPI target values, and measures were proposed to eliminate poor quality, respectively reduction of the number of complained products.","PeriodicalId":44097,"journal":{"name":"Management Systems in Production Engineering","volume":" 23","pages":"404 - 410"},"PeriodicalIF":1.5,"publicationDate":"2023-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138618551","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As a result, the strategic position of the Information System (IS) in these organizations is necessarily linked to performance. The creation of added value or net benefits through the use of these platforms becomes an ultimate and strategic objective for any organization. This study evaluates the success of the information system (IS) for electronic payment of port fees. From a quantitative approach of a hypothetico-deductive nature and using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM), we found that the success of the IS implies a quality of the electronic payment system, as well as the information produced influences the use and satisfaction of the users and finally these last two findings impact the individual and organizational performance of the organizations. (Net benefits).","PeriodicalId":44097,"journal":{"name":"Management Systems in Production Engineering","volume":"31 1","pages":"254 - 262"},"PeriodicalIF":1.5,"publicationDate":"2023-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48038527","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The need to find its place in a constantly changing further and closer business environment has been also recognized in the agri-food sector. Consumers, looking for alternatives to industrially produced food and wanting to improve their well-being, have in mind, above all, not only the health quality of the food but also the absence of physical and chemical contaminants, and therefore, they are increasingly inclined to purchase organic food products. Under these circumstances, many Polish enterprises that choose this type of production are looking for solutions that allow them to respond quickly to changing consumer expectations. This paper first critically analyzes the scientific literature by compiling publications on aspects of enterprise agility to analyze issues related to quality assurance and its improvement as a manifestation of meeting customer expectations. This allowed for the identification of the research gap and formulation of the research objective, i.e. the assessment of the quality improvement activities as important problems of agility in Polish organic food processing. The main part of the empirical research was conducted in 2021-2022 using a questionnaire dedicated to entities involved in organic food production. The research was comprehensive in nature. The questionnaire was distributed to the entire population surveyed whereas the amount of the results leads to the conclusion that the sample is representative. Statistical analysis and inference were carried out using Kolmogorov-Smirnov, Shapiro-Wilk, ANOVA-Kruskal-Wallis, and U-Mann-Whitney tests.","PeriodicalId":44097,"journal":{"name":"Management Systems in Production Engineering","volume":"31 1","pages":"271 - 280"},"PeriodicalIF":1.5,"publicationDate":"2023-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46908262","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The introductory part of the study deals with a comprehensive analysis of the production process and factors that affect the quality of the final tire product during production. The content of this analysis is also the naming of problematic parts and their subsequent influence on the resulting parameters of a passenger tire. The core of the study is an optimization design for improving the construction of the tire-building drum. The world-renowned TRIZ methodology was applied to achieve the desired improvement results. Using the TRIZ methodology, the technical system was analysed, identified problematic parts, and defined the technical and physical contradictions and proposed possibilities for their removal. The systematic approach to the solution of the task has generated options for the right solution and possible optimization by reducing the weight of individual parts of the tire-building drum. During analysis, simulations of the deformation and total stress will be available before and after optimization. The work’s conclusion describes the results of the simulation and the development process for the experimental testing possibilities of the optimized equipment. The study output is also a systematic procedure for testing the technical system, which can help designers design and optimize some parts of similar technical systems.","PeriodicalId":44097,"journal":{"name":"Management Systems in Production Engineering","volume":"31 1","pages":"361 - 372"},"PeriodicalIF":1.5,"publicationDate":"2023-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46547769","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Emphasizing community engagement, this model ensures that new technologies are tailored to each city’s unique needs. The creation of a participatory society is essential for this approach, fostering public involvement in decision-making. Core mechanisms include public consultations and participatory budgeting, as legislated, enhancing co-management between authorities and residents. To successfully implement Smart City 3.0, it is vital to build a partnership based on mutual trust between local authorities and communities. Opinions must not only be expressed, but factored into city planning and development. Advisory bodies like city youth councils illustrate this approach, engaging youth in meaningful roles and ensuring their interests are represented. This paper investigates the vital role of community members in the creating of smart city. Additionally, the paper conducts a comprehensive review of various models of participation, evaluating their respective strengths and weaknesses within the context of smart city development.","PeriodicalId":44097,"journal":{"name":"Management Systems in Production Engineering","volume":"31 1","pages":"301 - 307"},"PeriodicalIF":1.5,"publicationDate":"2023-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42969634","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It was specified among others that an important factor that will influence the development of Polish economy will be the access to key mineral raw materials from domestic resources. Currently Polish Zn-Pb ores mining no longer exists as the last operating mine Olkusz-Pomorzany that belonged to the Mining and Metallurgic Plant “Bolesław” Joint Stock Company due to the depletion of resources finished extraction in 2020. Despite this fact there still are areas of great potential in the scope of these minerals in Poland. It is the Zawiercie region, where there has been no extraction of these ores so far and is believed to have the best perspectives for future development. One should connect with this region the nearest future of functioning of the domestic Zn-Pb ores’ mining. It is in this region that the “Zawiercie 3” ore is situated. The ore was documented in 2014 by a private investor within the framework of the permit to search for and identify Zn-Pb ore deposits and it is currently the largest as to resources Zn-Pb ores’ deposit in Poland. Its resources are currently over 35 million tonnes, which constitutes app. 39% of all the documented balance sheet resources of Zn-Pb ores in Poland. The presented geological works performed by the private investor on the area of the “Zawiercie 3” ore and the results that were achieved thanks to them clearly indicate that well-designed and thoroughly performed exploratory and evaluative works that combine international standards and Polish guidelines can significantly influence the degree of documentation and the increase of resources in undeveloped Zn-Pb ores’ deposits.","PeriodicalId":44097,"journal":{"name":"Management Systems in Production Engineering","volume":"31 1","pages":"343 - 354"},"PeriodicalIF":1.5,"publicationDate":"2023-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49009367","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The article utilized the FlexSim program to build a simulation model of the workstation and conducted optimization using the built-in optimizer. The research demonstrated that effective time management has a positive impact on workstation performance by reducing the number of items waiting in the queue, leading to increased throughput and reduced delays in production processes. An important aspect of the analysis was the application of a multi-criteria optimization approach, which allowed for achieving a balance between maximizing workstation utilization and minimizing the number of items waiting. Multi-criteria optimization considers diverse goals and decision criteria, leading to a more comprehensive approach to optimizing production processes. As a result, effective time management on workstations, based on analysis and multi-criteria optimization, can significantly improve the efficiency and performance of production processes. This analysis can be a valuable tool for organizations seeking to optimize their processes and achieve a competitive advantage in the market. The analysis conducted in the article confirms that effective time management has a beneficial impact on workstation performance. The use of a multi-criteria approach in optimization enables achieving a balance between various decision factors. The presented simulation model and research results can be useful for decision-makers in the manufacturing field who aim to make more informed decisions regarding planning and optimizing production processes to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.","PeriodicalId":44097,"journal":{"name":"Management Systems in Production Engineering","volume":"31 1","pages":"306 - 311"},"PeriodicalIF":1.5,"publicationDate":"2023-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41836810","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
