Diverse methodologies and systems have been developed for managing these intricate factors. Much focus over time has been on the aircraft itself; the design, pre-flight checks and operational procedures. This study is focused on highlighting how the combination of Safety Management Systems (SMS) and Quality Management Systems (QMS) are deployed in the jet fuel value chain for ensuring the safety of personnel, the integrity of the work process and facility and ultimately the supply of quality and dry on-spec Jet A-1 fuel for into-plane or fuelling operations. For the integrated safety and quality management system (ISQMS) to be effective, all stakeholders must play active roles and show utmost commitment to the ISQMS vision and goals. The management of the fuelling company sets the ISQMS pace and drives the process. The ISQMS incorporates all aspect of the business operations and offers both direct and indirect benefits to the business.","PeriodicalId":44022,"journal":{"name":"Engineering Review","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2020-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.30765/er.40.3.02","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45761879","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main idea is to integrate the ability of exploration in PSO with the ability of exploration in the GSA to synthesize both algorithms’ strength. The new algorithm is implemented to the dynamic economic emission dispatch (DEED) problem to minimize both fuel cost and emission simultaneously under a set of constraints. To demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed algorithm, a 5-unit test system is used. The results show the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed method when compared to the results of other optimization algorithms reported in the literature.","PeriodicalId":44022,"journal":{"name":"Engineering Review","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2020-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.30765/er.40.3.10","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46781713","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The surface pretreatment methods of specimen before brazing include sanding, NaOH corrosion, HCl corrosion, H 2 SO 4 corrosion and nickel plating. The experimental results indicate that the width of brazing joint varies with different surface pretreatment methods. The joint with sanding pretreatment, has the largest brazing seam width of 20 μm. Meanwhile, joint with H 2 SO 4 corrosion has the narrowest brazing seam width. The brazing filler metal can wet and spread on different pretreated specimen very well. Spectrum analysis indicates that nickel-plate on AlSi50 surface, can interact with brazing filler metal, which increases mechanical property of brazing joint. For brazing of AlSi50 alloy, the optimal pretreatment method is nickel plating. After nickel plating pretreatment, brazing joint has the maximum shear strength 82.05 MPa by using brazing filler metal Al52-Cu33-Mg12-Ni3 and following technological parameters: brazing temperature 580 ℃, soaking time 30 min and pressure 3 MPa.","PeriodicalId":44022,"journal":{"name":"Engineering Review","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2020-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.30765/er.40.3.09","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45755034","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The SVC is modeled, in the harmonic domain, as a coupled current source by using the complex Fourier transforms. Then, this model is converted to polar form to be integrated into the harmonic power flow program. This approach has been carried out on the IEEE 14 bus test power system, in order to show its effectiveness in evaluating the impact of harmonics, injected by the shunt compensating devices, and its interaction with the AC transmission system, in meshed power networks. Since the SVC consists of a thyristorcontrolled reactor (TCR) and a fixed capacitor, the harmonic currents are functions of the TCR thyristors firing angles. The variation of the total voltage harmonic distortion as function of firing angle changes and location of nonlinear loads is clearly presented and discussed.","PeriodicalId":44022,"journal":{"name":"Engineering Review","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2020-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.30765/er.40.3.03","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44620820","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the choice of cement type is a very important factor for concrete exposed in aggressive environment. This research presents the effect of two types of cement on the mechanical and microstructure properties of ordinary concretes exposed in aggressive solution dosed with 5% of gypsum (Ca2SO4.2H2O). The tests studied in this experimental part were the compressive strength, flexural strength, thermogravimetry, mercury intrusion porosimetry and mass variations of the concrete. The results clearly show that the CEM I 42.5 is suitable for the formulation of concretes exposed to sulphate attack and their properties are better compared with the CEM II/A 42.5.","PeriodicalId":44022,"journal":{"name":"Engineering Review","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2020-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.30765/er.40.3.04","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49114353","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The masses, damping ratios and stiffnesses of body models are identified by the curve fitting of the measured apparent mass curves from shaking table tests in published biomechanics studies. Then the extracted data are used to identify the parameters of the interaction models. Finally, the eigenvalue analyses of the human-structure models are calculated for comparison. In this identification process, it was identified that the quality of the curve fitting for the interaction model is as good as and even slightly better than the published results. One or two additional conditions for the interaction models would lead to several sets of parameters, but with the result of the continuous model, reasonable parameters have to be applied which can be identified and these parameters could be used in further calculations.","PeriodicalId":44022,"journal":{"name":"Engineering Review","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2020-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.30765/er.40.3.01","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47272652","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

More attention has been paid to optimization of biofuel supply chain in recent years. In this paper, a scientific, rational and practical biodiesel processing plant location with waste oil as the raw material was proposed in order to provide a theoretical basis for guiding the planning and management of restaurants, waste oil collection points, and processing plants. Considering the merits and demerits of the subjective and objective weighting methods, this paper proposes a new weighting method which is namely the combination of rough set theory and clustering algorithm. It then verifies the location results with a plant carbon emission. At last, this paper analyzes the location of biodiesel processing plant in the Yangtze River Delta of China and finds that the precision has been greatly improved with the new method comparing the RMSE and the R2 of the Delphi method with the improved rough set theory. By using this method, the weights of the influencing factors of biodiesel processing plants are the following: Waste oil supply 0.143, Fixed construction cost factor 0.343, Biodiesel demand 0.143 and Location convenience 0.371. In the comparison between the robust optimization method and the improved rough set theory, it was found that the final location results are the same, all being Jiaxing City. However, the improved rough set theory is much simpler than the robust optimization algorithm in the calculation process.","PeriodicalId":44022,"journal":{"name":"Engineering Review","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2020-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.30765/er.40.3.11","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41908869","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A new survey was conducted based on a brief review of previous research. Two groups of participants were chosen: ADHD (3) and nonADHD (14). The main part of this study includes EEG signal data pre-processing and processing. We have outlined statistical features of observed EEG signals such as mean value, grand-mean value and their ratios. It can be concluded that an increase in grand-mean values of power theta-low beta ratio on Cz electrode gives confirmation of previous research. The value of alpha-delta power ratio higher than 1 on C3, Cz, P3, Pz, P4 in ADHD group is proposed as a new approach to classification. Based on these conclusions we will design a neurofeedback protocol as a continuation of this work.","PeriodicalId":44022,"journal":{"name":"Engineering Review","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2020-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.30765/er.40.3.12","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47771482","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Both machine and tool parameters were selected for study and experiments were planned as per Taguchi’s L18 mixed orthogonal array in order to find the influence of parameters on surface roughness (SR) and micro-hardness (MH). Peak current, particle size and pulse on time were found to be most significant on both SR and MH. High reactive surface area of nano particles made surface alloying greater than the other tool electrodes and has shown its influence positively on both SR and MH. The EDX analysis reveals the migration of WC and Cu elements and deposition of carbon and oxygen particles on the surface. The XRD spectrum confirms presence of carbides (WC, W2C, Fe5C2, Cr7C3, Fe7C3 and Fe3C), oxides (Fe3O4, WO3 and Cr3O) and other intermetallics at different machining conditions indicating the influence of Pulse on time (TON) and Peak current (IP) on discharge energies and in turn on the properties of machined surface. The carbides generated on the machined surface increased the hardness to 845HV without much sacrifice of the roughness of the machined surface. The range of roughness values obtained in the present investigation is 2.443 to 4.098µm.","PeriodicalId":44022,"journal":{"name":"Engineering Review","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2020-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.30765/er.40.3.06","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47807458","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is assumed that each layer exhibits continuous material inhomogeneity along the width as well as along thickness of the layer. An approach for determination of the strain energy release rate is developed for a delamination crack located arbitrary along the multilayered beam height. The approach can be applied for multilayered beams of arbitrary cross-section under combination of axial force and bending moments. The layers may have different thickness and material properties. The number of layers is arbitrary. The approach is applied for analyzing the delamination fracture behavior of a multilayered beam configuration subjected to four-point bending. The beam has a rectangular cross-section. The delamination crack is located symmetrically with respect to the beam midspan. The strain energy release rate is derived assuming that the modulus of elasticity varies continuously in the cross-section of each layer according to a hyperbolic law. In order to verify the solution to the strain energy release rate, the delamination fracture behavior of the multilayered non-linear elastic four-point bending beam configuration is studied also by applying the method of the J-integral. The solution to the strain energy release rate derived in the present paper is used in order to perform a parametric study of delamination.","PeriodicalId":44022,"journal":{"name":"Engineering Review","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2020-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69599066","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
