Chauhan","doi":"10.1109/ICPCES.2010.5698607","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/ICPCES.2010.5698607","url":null,"abstract":"Finite-length impulse response (FIR) filters offer several good properties, like guaranteed stability and exact linear phase; however they require a higher filter order to fulfill a given specification as compared to Infinite-length impulse response (IIR) filters, especially when the transition band is relatively narrow. In this paper a model is proposed to design FIR filter by modifying the MLSE (Mean Least Square Error) method. This model brings significant reduction in the order of FIR filter as compared to other methods of FIR filter designing. This obtained FIR filter is insensitive to bit variation in filter coefficient length up to 5-bit. The reference current extraction is based on sensing main currents that are multiplied with estimated peak reference current. The proposed approach comprises Low Pass Filter (LPF) in conjunction with Proportional Integral (PI) controller is used to estimate the peak reference current and maintain the DC-bus capacitor voltage of the inverter nearly constant. The cascaded multilevel active filter switching signals are derived from proposed triangular carrier current modulator; it gives better dynamic performance under transient and steady state operating conditions. The APLC system is validated through extensive simulation under steady state and transient condition with different non-linear loads. The suggested method applies saturable inductors in auxiliary branches and guarantees zero-voltage switching (ZVS) operation with reduced conduction loss for all the input and load conditions. The suggested approach is compared with linear branch method to validate the analysis. It is shown that the proposed approach offers up to 30% reduction in the conduction loss of auxiliary branches. It's needed to be mentioned that we can use a combination of delay and linear equation to model a higher degree system. In this paper, this model will be studied. In this paper we simulated an industrial dilatory thermal system so that most of its functionality are considered and maintained. The derivative controller in the inner loop is aimed to stabilize the unstable SOPDT process and also reduce the effect of derivative kick and noise. Four parameters PID with series lead-lag filter are designed based on IMC principle for disturbance estimator. Sardar","doi":"10.1109/ICPCES.2010.5698671","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/ICPCES.2010.5698671","url":null,"abstract":"In this correspondence we introduce a novel instrumentation strategy which we term as application specific instrumentation (ASIN) and we test the feasibility of the proposed scheme in designing a simulation based breast cancer diagnosis system using ultrawideband (UWB) sensors. Most of the high end instrumentation facilities of the current generation are generic in the sense that they can be used in more than one usage. Hence, they perform in a analysis mode. Using these high end instruments information is extracted for a given object under test and based on these information certain decision is made. This generic nature of the instruments make them costly and the postprocessing requirements require the contribution from specialists. In the proposed ASIN scheme, the observations from the sensors are directly used to make the required decision without extracting any intermediate information. This in turn makes the system highly specialised for a given application. At the same time this reduce the cost and the demand for specialists. We have tested the feasibility of such a system in breast cancer diagnosis using UWB sensors. The analysis, though based on simulated data, shows that the system is feasible. Such a strategy will prove invaluable in making application specific instruments ubiquitous. Since this implementation consumes lesser area, its Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT) representation has efficient hardware complexity in the order of O(N). Firstly, state feedback control is presented via backstepping, applied to a strict feedback form. In this CNN is used to approximate unknown functions to design control law by the backstepping technique and solves the non-causal problem in discrete-time system. After this output feedback control is presented by converting strict feedback form into cascade form (Brunovsky form). This paper also presents the respective stability analysis, on the basis of the Lyapunov approach, for the whole controlled system. A single layer functional link CNN is used where the need of hidden layer is eliminated by expanding the input pattern by Chebyshev polynomials and approximation of complex nonlinear systems becomes easier. The converter contains non-linear elements making the mathematical model more complex which instigate the use of FLC. The nature of FLC has adaptive characteristics that can achieve robust response to a system with uncertainty, parameter variation, and load disturbance. In order to see the advantages of FLC, classical PI control has applied to the BDC converter under same circumstances and has been compared. Simulation results demonstrate that the converter can be regulated with good dynamic performance irrespective to input disturbance and load variation. Multi-phase machines and drives is a topic of growing relevance in recent years, and it presents many challenging issues that still need further research. Multilevel multiphase technology combines the benefits of both technologies. This paper proposes a new simplified space vector PWM method for a five-level five phase voltage source inverter. The five-level inverter has a large number of switching states compared to a two-level inverter. In the proposed scheme, five-level space vector PWM inverter is easily implemented using algorithm based on a displacement plus a two-level multiphase SVPWM modulator. Therefore, the proposed method can also be applied to multilevel inverters. In this paper, a five-level five phase inverter using space vector modulation strategy has been modeled and simulated.
