Extending the internal/external frame of reference model, school grades in physical education and German (as a subject) were considered as correlates of the verbal and physical fitness self-concept domains. In addition, considering the well-established empirical evidence on gender differences in the different subdomains, measurement and structural invariance were tested across female and male students. Grades, self-concept, and self-esteem were assessed via questionnaires. Structural equation modeling revealed positive relations between grades and the corresponding self-concept subdomains. Physical self-concept had a stronger association with general self-esteem compared with verbal self-concept. Gender stereotypical differences were found only in the mean values of self-concept subdomains and general self-esteem. The results indicate that school grades and the corresponding self-concepts are strongly associated and that physical self-concept might be a salient and meaningful source of general self-esteem in adolescents.","PeriodicalId":43878,"journal":{"name":"Zeitschrift Fur Sportpsychologie","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.7,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41453478","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"心理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Sportlehrkräfte sind mit hohen Arbeitsbelastungen konfrontiert, die insbesondere bei einem Mangel an beruflicher Bedürfnisbefriedigung zu Burnoutsymptomen führen können. Basierend auf dem Job-Demands-Ressource-Modell hat die vorliegende Untersuchung daher zum Ziel, Einflüsse von beruflicher Bedürfnisbefriedigung als Arbeitsplatzressource auf Burnout und das berufliche Engagement bei Sportlehrkräften im Vorbereitungsdienst zu untersuchen. Mittels einer Fragebogenuntersuchung werden Zusammenhänge zwischen beruflicher Bedürfnisbefriedigung und -frustration, emotionaler Erschöpfung und Vitalität an einer Stichprobe von N = 263 angehenden Sportlehrkräften untersucht. Strukturgleichungsmodelle ergaben einerseits einen signifikant negativen Effekt der Befriedigung des Autonomie- sowie des Kompetenzbedürfnisses auf Vitalität als auch einen signifikant positiven Effekt beider Bedürfnisse auf die emotionale Erschöpfung. Zudem zeigt die Frustration dieser Bedürfnisse signifikant negative Effekte auf Vitalität. Die Frustration des Bedürfnisses nach Kompetenz hat einen signifikant positiven Effekt auf emotionale Erschöpfung. Die Befunde werden mit Blick auf praktische Implikationen im Sinne einer Burnoutprävention für angehende Sportlehrkräfte diskutiert.","PeriodicalId":43878,"journal":{"name":"Zeitschrift Fur Sportpsychologie","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.7,"publicationDate":"2022-11-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44110334","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"心理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Compulsive exercise occurs among the general exercise population and is associated with adverse mental and physical health outcomes. The current study explored compulsive exercise behavior regarding coping styles and its relationship to identity to improve our understanding of compulsive exercise among the general exercise population. A community sample of 1,209 adults (aged 18 – 89) with varied exercise levels completed an online survey. We examined the relationships between engagement and disengagement coping styles (as assessed by the Coping Strategy Inventory) and exercise identity (Exercise Identity Scale) with compulsive exercise (Compulsive Exercise Test) using correlation, regression, and moderation analyses. Emotion-focused engagement (β = .075, p < .01) and emotion-focused disengagement (β = .212, p < .001) coping styles significantly predicted compulsive exercise, as did exercise identity (β = .514, p < .001). Coping styles did not moderate the relationship between exercise identity and compulsive exercise behaviors. The results indicate that both adaptive and maladaptive emotion-based coping styles are associated with greater compulsive exercise behavior.","PeriodicalId":43878,"journal":{"name":"Zeitschrift Fur Sportpsychologie","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.7,"publicationDate":"2022-11-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47842858","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"心理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The task of each item consists of comparing four alternative stimuli with a criterion stimulus and identifying the two “correct” alternatives. A total of 203 participants (101 females) took part in this experiment in which they solved the original MRT and the MRT-BB. The results replicate the findings of Weigelt and Memmert (2021 ). The number of items attempted declined toward the end of each set, with participants solving more items in the second set and men outperforming women. While participants solved more items on the MRT-BB, performance in both tests was positively correlated. Our replication of the previous results supports the validity of the MRT-BB. The correlation supports the notion that the mental rotation of the sport-specific stimuli is based on more general mental rotation skills.","PeriodicalId":43878,"journal":{"name":"Zeitschrift Fur Sportpsychologie","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.7,"publicationDate":"2022-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43512455","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"心理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Ziel der vorliegenden Umfrage war es, Umsetzung, Haltung, Fähigkeiten und Verbesserungsvorschläge der im deutschsprachigen Raum (Ö, D, CH) sportpsychologisch arbeitenden Praktiker_innen bezüglich evidenzbasierter Praxis (EBP) zu ermitteln. Dafür wurde eine übersetzte und adaptierte Version des Evidence Based Practice Questionnaire ( Upton & Upton, 2006 ) von 181 Teilnehmenden ( XAlter=42.19, SD=1.09, nFrauen=80, nMänner=95) online ausgefüllt. Sie gaben eine positivere Haltung gegenüber der EBP sowie höhere Fähigkeiten zum Teilen und Anwenden der EBP an, als sie ihre eigene Umsetzung und ihre Techniken zum Abrufen und Überprüfen von Evidenz einschätzten. Verschiedene Gründe für eine geringe Umsetzung – wie beispielsweise Zeitmangel – konnten identifiziert werden. Als Möglichkeiten, um EBP in ihre Praxis besser integrieren zu können, nannten die Praktiker_innen verbesserten Zugang zu aktueller Literatur und Intervisionsgruppen sowie klare Guidelines und mehr praxisnahe Forschung. Diese Vorschläge können als Anhaltspunkte für Organisationen und Forschende dienen, um die Umsetzung von EBP in der sportpsychologischen Praxis zu unterstützen.","PeriodicalId":43878,"journal":{"name":"Zeitschrift Fur Sportpsychologie","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.7,"publicationDate":"2022-04-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49600319","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"心理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
