We present a mathematical model that enables the company with mixed loads allowance and dis-allowance options, since the appearance of Covid-19 has banned the transportation of employees belonging to different workplaces on the same bus. We solved this model using the CPLEX solver and tested it on real-world data instances. However, the data set was large which made the exact solutions hard to obtain. Therefore, we sought to divide the data set into clusters using the Agglomerative Clustering algorithm and we ran the model on these groups independently. At the end of this paper, we present a comparison, in terms of execution time and objective value, of the model’s results for mixed loads respectively allowed and forbidden.","PeriodicalId":438542,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 6th International Conference on Logistics Operations Management (GOL)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123409684","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, healthcare organizations strive to optimize operational efficiency and reduce costs. In this paper, we propose a linear programming model to optimize the allocation of material resources (products) to the healthcare establishments within a “Territorial Hospital Group (THG)”. This cooperation among hospitals presents a new form of horizontal collaboration in order to ensure the pooling of stores/pharmacies and minimize logistics costs. Besides, in real-world applications, parameters such as demands and costs could be quite imprecise or uncertain. Moreover, we address in our work uncertainty related to the demands of care units/hospitals due to unusual or unforeseen conditions. This uncertain parameter is modeled as a triangular fuzzy number and we propose a fuzzy linear programming model to solve using the weighted average method for the defuzzification stage. The efficiency of the proposed model is tested over a set of generated instances. The obtained results prove the importance of horizontal collaboration and uncertainty handling.","PeriodicalId":438542,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 6th International Conference on Logistics Operations Management (GOL)","volume":"69 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133180217","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is difficult to build a thorough understanding of blockchain as it relies on multiple abstract and technological building blocks. Therefore, it is not surprising that a number of misconceptions circulate on the topic of blockchain. This paper filters and categorizes existing research on people’s perceptions of blockchain technology and misconceptions. The identified gap in addressing and overcoming misconceptions leads to the theory of threshold concepts. The fundamentals and potentials of the approach in the field of blockchain are elaborated. The paper ends with a call for future research in this direction.","PeriodicalId":438542,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 6th International Conference on Logistics Operations Management (GOL)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115518866","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, in the last few years, this technology attracted the attention of several researchers and business stakeholders who were interested in exploring the potential of this technology in other sectors and the supply chain in one of them as it is perceived as a backbone of a new digital supply chain. Among the pillars of Blockchain technology is its ability to guarantee that data will never be altered and that it will be shared in real time with all parties interested in the transaction due to the decentralized nature of the blockchain. This will increase the traceability, transparency, and performance of the supply chain. The literature concerning Blockchain in non-financial applications mainly focused on the technological part and the Business Process Modeling, lacking in terms of standard methodology for designing a strategy to develop and validate the overall Blockchain solution and integrate it in the Business Strategy. The literature concerning Blockchain technology application in non-financial sectors mainly focused on the general integration lacking the technological part and the business process modeling. Thus, this paper aims to overcome this lack by presenting how the blockchain technology can alter the way supply chain processes are designed and executed as an example we chose to work on the procure to pay process. The main purpose of this work is to explore how blockchain technology can be integrated into a typical procure-to-pay process, what opportunities can be identified from the technology. To achieve this purpose, we studied the related literature review, and we analyzed the relevant Academic and practitioner research based on qualitative and deductive methodology. That way, it lays a basis for future research which enables valuable insight for procurement managers and offers opportunities to master the most pressing challenges.","PeriodicalId":438542,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 6th International Conference on Logistics Operations Management (GOL)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114889498","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since these problems are classified as NP-hard, the aim of this paper is to design a GPU based approach for the capacitated variant of the HLP that can approach these goals. The proposed GA starts from several initial populations (island model) carefully generated in order to speed up the convergence of the GA. The numerical tests on a variety of known benchmarks and on a random large instances (up to 6000 nodes) reveal the importance of the choice of initial populations and the way they interact with each other. They show that the proposed methodology is efficient at least for these benchmarks and may be adapted to other variants of hub location problems. The method has reached all the known optimal solutions for these benchmarks and found new, significantly better, solutions on three AP instances with 100 and 200 nodes.","PeriodicalId":438542,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 6th International Conference on Logistics Operations Management (GOL)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132332850","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For this reason, and also for environmental reasons, smart cities involve the use of modern technologies for intelligent waste management. Smart bins in urban areas are equipped with sensors that monitor the condition of the bins in real-time and trigger alarms that wirelessly communicate central data to the waste stations, which then send vehicles to collect the waste from the selected bins, in order to guarantee the maximization of the waste collected while minimizing transport costs. In our proposed framework, the bins are compartmentalized into n compartments, each compartment is specific to a single type and equipped with sensors, similarly, the fleet of vehicles is heterogeneous and the vehicles have separate compartments. A new mathematical model MIP is proposed to deal with this problem with the objective of minimizing the costs, which are transport costs and penalty costs that would contribute to an optimal decision on the early collection of partially filled bins.","PeriodicalId":438542,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 6th International Conference on Logistics Operations Management (GOL)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126779895","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This product is used to diagnose some of the deadliest diseases and loses its active substance over time. Furthermore, its supply chain (SC) is highly regulated because by nature it is a pharmaceutical and a radioactive product at the same time. The complexity of the SC is also due to the fact that said SC was not initially designed for the Tc-99m. In parallel, different production technologies are being investigated, which adds more to the diversity of the Tc-99m SC landscape which consequently can vary tremendously. In this context, this study aims at implementing a model that would clearly distinguish the roles and activities of the major stakeholders in the most prevalent Tc-99m SC: a reactor-based SC, from the production of the raw materials to the patient examination. Furthermore, this perspective will ultimately lead to the optimization of the SC and to reach that goal, the establishment of an end-to-end supply chain mapping as comprehensive as possible is the first step toward to be achieved. The originality of this study lies in the detailed modeling of the activities of the key actors of the Tc-99m chain based on the Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) reference and the Business Process Modelling Notation (BPMN) standard. A presentation of other production routes using different technologies completes this study to give a perspective as broad as possible of the different Tc-99m SC design.","PeriodicalId":438542,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 6th International Conference on Logistics Operations Management (GOL)","volume":"128 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127584636","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The paper focuses on an analysis of the Fischertechnik® Training Factory Industry 4.0 model, which is used as a teaching and learning environment at the Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences. The objective is to record the processes taking place in the model factory and to evaluate them with regard to their level of digitalization. For this purpose, the so-called Smart Logistics Zone (SLZ) approach [1] is used to apply a structured procedure that divides the overall process of the model factory into two main processes (incoming goods process and customer order process/manufacturing process) and to identify and evaluate targeted improvement measures. Furthermore, the paper applies a value stream mapping method as well as the maturity model according to Appenfeller/Feldmann [2] and in the outlook considers an extension of the SLZ approach by a VSM 4.0.","PeriodicalId":438542,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 6th International Conference on Logistics Operations Management (GOL)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132733998","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Considering this is a moment in education for sustainability research and practice when both researchers and practitioners are thirsty for new models of qualifications’ description that could be more practical, far-reaching, and reflective in helping them move beyond the traditional approach, this paper presents the theoretical and methodological components of a qualification framework and a case-study on using it when designing a study program for one of the new qualifications which require digital and soft skills as creativity, autonomy, self-management, team research and work, interdisciplinary competences. As a free and open tool, it is accessible to every member in higher educational community and can be adapted to the needs of any tertiary education study program. The main benefit of the Qualification Framework Methodology, developed for Air Transport Industry, is that its basic principles, those of fair and transparent description of a certain qualification’ competences in terms of learning outcomes, can be used in any field of studies and in any cycle of higher education studies, and can be applied to any type of education: formal, non-formal and informal and to any environment of learning: traditional, blended, online or virtual reality.","PeriodicalId":438542,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 6th International Conference on Logistics Operations Management (GOL)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114384619","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
