This paper presents three NC functions that are newly added to the simulator General-purpose Petri Net Simulator (GPenSIM). With these new functions, in addition to the usual performance analysis of a discrete-event system via a Petri net model, supplementary information about NC of the elements can also be found, paving an overall (static + dynamic) analysis of the system.","PeriodicalId":438307,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE International Conference on Advanced Manufacturing (ICAM)","volume":"52 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114848130","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Before that, differential scanning calorimeter was used to characterize the glass transition temperature and the melting point of the thermoplastic composite. Then, the simple structures with the omega shape were manufactured to investigate the effect of the lamination sequence and the blank holding pressure. Finally, the structure of a small luggage box was manufactured to examine its quality. The results indicate that the glass transition temperature of the thermoplastic composite is around $82.66 ^{circ}mathrm{C}$ and its melting temperature is about $190.60 ^{circ}mathrm{C}$. Therefore, the forming temperature of the composite is set to $170 ^{circ}mathrm{C}$, and the temperatures of the top mold and the low mold are $100 ^{circ}mathrm{C}$ and $160 ^{circ}mathrm{C}$, respectively. From the results of the simple structure, the lamination sequence of $[ ( 0 ^{circ}/ 90 ^{circ})]$ and $[ ( + 45 ^{circ} /- 45 ^{circ})]$ have quilt different material flowing during the process such that they have different product contours. The blank holding pressure could improve the product quality as compared to zero pressure. By using these forming parameters, one could manufacture a good product of the small luggage box.","PeriodicalId":438307,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE International Conference on Advanced Manufacturing (ICAM)","volume":"126 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129675390","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Notably, in 3D printing, several materials can be applied in a single manufacturing process. The critical review of various materials shows a new path to use these materialsboth in Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) printing and in the filament for Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) printing. The idea of optimization is crucial by relying on the mechanical property of materials and automate it in 3D printing. It is performed by considering the input parameters and the application of the products. The current problem of multi-material optimization is the lack of thorough material property analysis and implementation to develop a proper database. Thus, Finite Element Analysis (FEA) on the selected materials with different specimens and with reasoning results is discussed to investigate materials property. The obtained results can be applied to the material optimization process by selecting proper material according to the boundary conditions. The algorithms of topology optimization indicate the proper application of the obtained results. In this paper, 3D printing through the physical algorithm with the methods of active and inactive points of investigation on geometry is presented. Thus, the inactive points can be excluded, and the material usage could be reduced.","PeriodicalId":438307,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE International Conference on Advanced Manufacturing (ICAM)","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125536124","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This article contributes to explore the spatial characteristics and mechanisms of innovation capacity in Jiangsu province. Cluster analysis and spatial autocorrelation analysis are used to examine the spatial characteristics. All data, sourcing from the Year Books of Jiangsu Province and the Chinese Urban Books, are involved in the number of patents for 13 cities from 2007 to 2016 in Jiangsu Province. There are some findings as follows: (1) the article divides 13 cities into 4 levels for the innovation capability, and we find an obvious decreasing trend from the South to the North. (2)The spatial differences of the innovation capacity are characterized by temporal evolution, which generally presents a trend of agglomeration-dispersion-re-agglomeration. Then, the article constructs the evaluation index system of the innovation capacity and factor analysis is conducted to explore the mechanisms. The results show that the important factors influencing the spatial difference in Jiangsu Province are involved in the number of colleges and universities, annual patents, the internal expenditures of large-and medium-sized enterprises, internet users, and the total stock of public libraries.","PeriodicalId":438307,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE International Conference on Advanced Manufacturing (ICAM)","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117050915","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, tumbling motion of a satellite after separation from the launcher is inevitable and thus the de-tumbling is the first task of the attitude control system of a satellite. Cubesats, one of the nano-class satellites, are defined by Calpoly with masses less than 10kg. A team in National Formosa University is developing a 2-U Cubesat, named as NUTSat, to promote the aviation safety. The cubesat will carry a ADS-B receiver as the main payload to collect the flight information of civil aircraft beneath the orbit. An attitude control system of the cubesat is designed to perform the detumbling and attitude control and keep the ADS-B antenna towards to the earth. The cubesat has two magnetic torquers and one coil to interact with the earth’s magnetic field to generate proper torques to change the attitude. A three-axis magnetic sensor is used to estimate the satellite’s orientation. At this phase, the de-tumbling has been validated by simulation. Further attitude pointing controller design is undergoing.","PeriodicalId":438307,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE International Conference on Advanced Manufacturing (ICAM)","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121266912","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
