Isolation policies recommended by WHO impacted countries economies, making it necessary to implement a range of economic, health, social and economic security policies, such as: financial aid packages for the population and companies, investment of resources for the structuring of hospital beds for the treatment of patients, implementation of population testing programs, among others. The impact of the pandemic proved to be quite significant especially for the so-called \"developing countries\", due to the difficulties in establishing the aforementioned range of security policies as well as mass testing of the population in order to reliably map the disease spreading. The implementation of those measure were limited not only by economic reasons, but also by political impediments. In the present study, a Bayesian analysis of the immunization rate against COVID-19 through vaccination, evaluating the immunization scenarios lasting or temporary. The logistics required for the vaccination campaign in Brazil were assessed by considering uncertainties in determining the daily rate of immunization, as well as the effectiveness of the vaccine made available for the population. In this intent, an epidemiological model was used compartmentalized, calibrated against historical data using the CATMIP stochastic algorithm. The obtained results indicate that the daily vaccination rate is the most important parameter of a successful immunization program, given an effectiveness rate equal or superior to 50%. However, a massive immunization rate needs to be conjugated with a responsible relaxing of the social distancing measures after the vaccination program start, under the risk of compromising any positive result in terms of the number of contaminated and deceased individuals.","PeriodicalId":438033,"journal":{"name":"Brazilian Journal of Experimental Design, Data Analysis and Inferential Statistics","volume":"414 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129654843","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The construction industry is recognized as one of the sectors that consume the most natural resources and generates waste. A problem resulting from urbanization is the alteration of the natural hydrological cycle, due to an increase in the rate of soil waterproofing, resulting in an increase in the volume and constancy of the floods. The production and publication of knowledge are essential for the development of research, however, studies directed at the feasibility of applying and commercializing this knowledge are insufficient. The patent information serves as a source to map the technological prospecting, presenting relevant information to the application of the invention with the purpose of commercialization. This study applied a survey of patent information about permeable pavement using construction and demolition waste (CDW) as an alternative raw material. The authors conducted an exploratory study based on a survey of existing patents in international databases, through Google Patents, EPO (Espacenet), and WIPO (Patentscope), verifying the degree of technological development, holders of inventions, and potential markets. We used the terms “construction and demolition waste”, “pavement” and “paving” to obtain the patent results. As a result, 65 patents were filed, highlighting as depositing countries, the dominance of the United States, Brazil, Japan, and China. The knowledge contained in patents can collaborate to make decisions related to sustainability in the civil construction sector.","PeriodicalId":438033,"journal":{"name":"Brazilian Journal of Experimental Design, Data Analysis and Inferential Statistics","volume":"73 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115921408","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

From the production of magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles, more specifically magnetite, inorganic modifications were performed using quartz and silicaalumina, in order to identify their properties and sorption capabilities of oil. The produced materials were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive spectroscopy (SEM/EDS), x-ray diffraction (XRD), sorption and magnetic force tests. At the end of the characterizations and tests, it was concluded that the magnetic nanoparticles were successfully modified. Regarding magnetite, the sorption capacity was outstanding, while the modifications had the same sorption capacity. And the statistical calculations obtained by ANOVA and Tukey's method, proved the difference in the sorption of the samples. In addition, it was evidenced that the higher the magnetic force, the greater is the ability to collect the spot/nanoparticle using a magnet.","PeriodicalId":438033,"journal":{"name":"Brazilian Journal of Experimental Design, Data Analysis and Inferential Statistics","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121712308","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

According to World Health Organization (WHO) records, the pandemic caused by the Sars-Cov-2 virus began in December 2019 and is present in all continents and almost all countries, surpassing more than 79 million infected and 1.7 million deaths by December 2020. Several mathematical models applied to Epidemiology have been adopted over time. One of the most widely adopted is the Susceptible-Infected-Recovered (SIR), developed in India by Kermack and Mckendrick in 1927. In our research, a comprehensive collection of data on the SARS-Cov-2 pandemic was made from reports by WHO, Dadax Limited (Chinese data company), and Johns Hopkins University in the United States of America (USA). Facts were collected from many different countries, regarding the number of confirmed, recovered, and death cases. In this article, we constructed a mathematical model that describes the evolution of the pandemic from the similarity with models already adopted in the field of nuclear physics. For the validation of the mathematical model, we chose information from Germany due to the reliability of the available information. Thus, a statistical analysis was executed to qualify the performance of the method and the predictive character of the mathematical model. To date, 11,716 raw data have been collected, of which we performed data mining relevant to use in this research. to the BJEDIS’ scope: In this written work, we used mathematical modeling to analyze a very large number of data related to the contamination and spread of a highly contagious virus in human populations. We used spreadsheets for mining relevant data and producing new data to recognize and forecasts.","PeriodicalId":438033,"journal":{"name":"Brazilian Journal of Experimental Design, Data Analysis and Inferential Statistics","volume":"521 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132386743","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
