The proposed metamaterial absorber is working in complete X-band (8-12GHz) frequency. Initially the structure was designed by a square shaped ring resonator placed inside another ring with open slot. The dual band absorbance at 9.4 GHz and 13.4 GHz with absorptivity 99.88% and 97.26% respectively is achieved in the initial design. Then, to accomplish wideband absorbance, a lumped component (Capacitance) is introduced, where it capped the complete X-band of absorption above 90%. The FWHM bandwidth of the wideband metamaterial absorber is found to be 6.4 GHz. The suggested absorber shows a good absorptivity for both TE and TM modes.","PeriodicalId":436488,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Conference in Advances in Power, Signal, and Information Technology (APSIT)","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125475372","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Such high impact events may interrupt the power supply for a long time or even causes a permanent disconnection of power from a substation in case of extreme. To endure this situation, enhancing power system resilience may play a vital role in continuously supplying uninterrupted and quality power. This paper proposes a methodology to make the power delivery system more resilient by correctly placing distributed generators (DG) in the distribution system. Along with resiliency enhancement, suitable allocation of DG can also improve system performance by minimizing energy losses and improving the voltage profile of distribution load points. A fuzzy logic method-based DG placement approach is proposed, which targets maximum customer restoration considering the number of customers and vulnerability of distribution lines connected to a load point. The vulnerability of lines has been investigated considering the extreme impact of wind on it. The size of DG has been evaluated, aiming reduction of system power losses. The validation of methodology has been tested on an Indian rural distribution system. The result confirms that the proposed approach can save considerable energy losses and augmentation of voltage profile in low voltage distribution buses in pleasant weather and supply power to many customers after wind-driven calamities.","PeriodicalId":436488,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Conference in Advances in Power, Signal, and Information Technology (APSIT)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127942607","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Looking at the excellent field experience and knowledge of the power operators, recently, FACTS devices are integrated with the existing grid codes to solve undesirable power quality problems. Therefore, to improve the grid stability, high energy quality, protect the system operation and avail better power quality, Statcom based FACTS devices are selected for 9MW wind integrated system application. The proposed model and control technique is developed and simulated through MATLAB/Simulink software. To justify the proposed technique necessity, the Statcom based grid integrated wind energy system performance is compared without Statcom based system application. Moreover, the transient stability of the wind turbine is also tested during the three-phase fault condition (LLG). The proficiency of the modelled regulator and functionality is detailed through theoretical analysis. The compared results indicate the improved results and justify the necessity of the proposed controller.","PeriodicalId":436488,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Conference in Advances in Power, Signal, and Information Technology (APSIT)","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120966430","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The extracted information finds its utility in the fields of mining, agriculture, security, and many more. Successful extraction of underground information requires efficient communication between transmitter and receiver. Multi-hop transmission is a technique that has been used to achieve effective communication in terrestrial wireless networks. In this technique transmission between transmitter and receiver doesn't take place directly, but takes place with the help of intermediate nodes. In this work, we analyze the functioning and performance of a multi-hop transmission scheme in the wireless underground sensor network. The performance of multi-hop transmission was analyzed using the values of pathloss, received power, and bit error rate.","PeriodicalId":436488,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Conference in Advances in Power, Signal, and Information Technology (APSIT)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121647020","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Saliency uses the advantages of this feature by identifying different visually perceptual regions of an image. Additionally, Phase congruency (PC) exploits those features of digital images by detecting the corner points. In the proposed method, the information hiding Capacity is generated from both bit depth maps created by comparing phase congruency results and saliency outcomes of an image that ascertains the low perceptually visible pixels (utilizing the Least Significant Bit (LSB) technique). The key idea is to ensure an additional layer of security using Symmetric Key Cryptography (SKC) and to hide information in a less observant area that is not easily perceptible inside the cover image. The experimental result analysis ensures better imperceptibility and robustness as it resists different attacks along with superior data hiding capacity.","PeriodicalId":436488,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Conference in Advances in Power, Signal, and Information Technology (APSIT)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122372338","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A compact model for the proposed structure has been formulated by solving the Poisson's equation. This structure takes advantage of the recessed channel to enhance the short channel effects (SCEs) and stepped stack gate at the drain side to improve the hot carrier effect. Further with graded work-function at the source side gate provides an enhanced device analog performance. The influence of negative junction depth (NJD) is explored on the sub-threshold parameters to achieve an optimized device performance. Investigation reveals the enhanced performance manifested by the proposed structure with better switching behaviour, high immunity to SCEs, and increased carrier transportation efficiency. So, this meaningful research is relatively beneficial for nano-scaled short channel devices.","PeriodicalId":436488,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Conference in Advances in Power, Signal, and Information Technology (APSIT)","volume":"111 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128922731","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To study the impact of harmonics, an IEEE 33 bus radial distribution system is considered. Different types of nonlinear loads are assumed to be distributed along the radial distribution system. The contribution of harmonics by any one non linear load has almost no significant effect. This paper shows that their cumulative effect can produce a noticeable amount of harmonics and hence has a poor impact on power quality. Some techniques are also applied to study how the harmonics can be reduced. The program is simulated with the help of MATLAB.","PeriodicalId":436488,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Conference in Advances in Power, Signal, and Information Technology (APSIT)","volume":"106 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130525188","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Various DGs like Wind (WS), Photovoltaic (PV) and Diesel generator (DGN) is integrated in the considered microgird. The overall control design is addressed during the islanding scenario where the optimized solutions are calculated by Modified Firefly Algorithm (MFA). The proposed MFA has improved diversity to calculate the optimal stability in isolated grid condition. With various advanced feature, the MFA helps to converge faster with more accuracy. A Phase Locked Loop (PLL) based control are consider for the Voltage Source Converter (VSC) connected in the PV side and for the back to back converter connected with the wind generator. The overall gain optimization is applied at PV - VSC and the WS-Grid Side Converter (GSC). This improves the dynamic stability of the system by minimizing the error present in the controller during islanding. The effectiveness of the considered technique is verified in terms of power oscillation, stability margin. The results are compared with various other basic techniques.","PeriodicalId":436488,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Conference in Advances in Power, Signal, and Information Technology (APSIT)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126871459","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The enormous energy demand of the exponentially increasing population requires alternative energy resources. The distributed resources are eco-friendly and emission less or nonhazardous in nature hence gaining more attention for present as well as future energy mandate. In this aspect the resources like solar, wind, geothermal and fuel cell energy are of prime importance because of their easy accessibility. The distributed and small scale energy production of MGs makes it very difficult for them to be tied and synchronized to utility grid. Further even after the coupling of MG with traditional grid system proper monitoring and maintenance of the power quality is indispensable. In this study the active power (P), reactive power (Q) and the Power Factor (PF) of a grid tied MG system is monitored and maintained with the help of Artificial Neural Network (ANN) trained Distributed Static Compensator (DSTATCOM). The superiority of the ANN is compared with that of traditional fuzzy logic controller (FLC). A brief analysis is executed by the simulation data of the proposed system, for multiple operating circumstances using Matlab/Simulink architecture. The results obtained confirms that the ANN controller is more efficient than FLC for improving the system characteristics in terms of better efficiency, stability, and dynamic response.","PeriodicalId":436488,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Conference in Advances in Power, Signal, and Information Technology (APSIT)","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122653011","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
