The methodology is a new criterion for setting the nominal flow of turbines by a mathematical programming problem maximizing the objective function given by a net present value, subjected to constraints inferred from the physical characteristics of the river. The main theoretical guidelines for addressing the objective function and data are from papers about cost analysis for small hydropower plants, regarding the installation cost, i.e., the electromechanical equipment and civil work costs. A comparison with three criteria for setting the nominal flow, coming from the professional experience of accumulated knowledge or concepts about the added value obtained, allows the conclusions about the advantages of the proposed criterion.","PeriodicalId":436377,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Control, Automation and Diagnosis (ICCAD)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125002866","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine (PMSM) and Induction Machine (IM) are the main components of drive trains of electric and hybrid vehicles. These machines have very good performance in healthy operation mode, but they are not redundant to ensure safety in faulty operation mode. Faced with the continued growth in the demand for electric vehicles in the automotive market, improving the reliability of electric vehicles is necessary over the lifecycle of the electric vehicle. Multiphase electric machines respond well to this constraint because, on the one hand, they have better robustness in the event of a breakdown (opening of a phase, opening of an arm of the power stage, intern-turn short circuit) and, on the other hand, better power density. In this work, a diagnosis approach using a neural network for an open circuit fault or more of a five-phase induction machine is developed. Validation on the simulator of the vehicle drivetrain, at reduced power, is carried out, creating one and more open circuit stator phases showing the efficiency and the reliability of the new approach to detect and to locate on-line one or more open phases of a five-induction machine.","PeriodicalId":436377,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Control, Automation and Diagnosis (ICCAD)","volume":"69 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126903645","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The power conversion system is based on a double-fed induction generator (DFIG). The parameters involved in this study are the active and reactive powers exchanged between the DFIG stator and the grid. For this purpose, sliding mode control will be adopted to ensure the control of these powers and obtain the appropriate voltages and currents. The validity of the sliding mode control will be verified with simulations performed on Matlab/Simulink software. In fact, the results obtained verify the performance of such a control to ensure a good quality of energy that will be injected into the electrical network.","PeriodicalId":436377,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Control, Automation and Diagnosis (ICCAD)","volume":"12 8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132369447","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To solve this problem, diagnostic observers constructed on the basis of optimal control methods are used. The proposed new method for the synthesis of such observers is based on the idea of introducing a new system with some auxiliary control which plays a role of an unknown vector function describing emerging faults. This control is proposed to be formed in such a way that it provides a minimum for the residual functional. Unlike popular approaches to solving the problem of fault identification based on observers operating in a sliding mode, the proposed method allows us to expand the class of systems for which the identification problem can be solved. It is known that the methods of sliding mode observers design impose certain restrictions on the systems under consideration. The suggested theory is illustrated by an example. The simulation results confirmed the operability of the diagnostic observers synthesized using the method proposed in the work.","PeriodicalId":436377,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Control, Automation and Diagnosis (ICCAD)","volume":"629 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133242501","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to their large size and constant operation, it is not easy to access them constantly to analyze possible failures on-site. It is, therefore, necessary to use techniques that automatically detect faults. In addition, it is crucial to detect the fault and know its location to deal with it as quickly and effectively as possible. This work applies a fault detection and isolation method to parabolic trough collector plants. A characteristic of solar plants is that they are highly dependent on the sun and the existence of clouds throughout the day, so it is not easy to achieve methods that work well when disturbances are too variable and difficult to predict. This work proposes dynamic artificial neural networks (ANNs) that take into account past information and are not so sensitive to the variations of the plant at each moment. With this, three types of failures are distinguished: failures in the optical efficiency of the mirrors, flow rate, and thermal losses in the pipes. Different ANNs have been proposed and compared with a simple feedforward ANN, obtaining an accuracy of 73.35%.","PeriodicalId":436377,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Control, Automation and Diagnosis (ICCAD)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131200103","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The studied problem is known to be NP-Hard, so to solve it we present an adaptive large neighborhood search (ALNS) algorithm, that iteratively adapts its parameters as the search moves from lower to higher quality neighborhoods to focus on optimizing smaller subsets of the decision variables. Since all aviation stakeholders rely on these records to maintain their aircrafts airworthy, several problems occur due to the lack of trustworthiness among stakeholders or sometimes the total or partial loss of these records. This can cut aviation revenue significantly and sometimes put at stake aircraft safety. Fake certifications and licenses, and cyberattacks are other problems that also affect the ecosystem. Blockchain technology can help aviation stakeholders to decrease or even eliminate the lack of confidence on the records and certifications, and reduce the probability of losing aviation records. In this paper, a high-level overview of the aviation ecosystem is presented, and an assessment of the impacts of the adoption of the blockchain technology is made, including the economic impact that blockchain can bring.","PeriodicalId":436377,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Control, Automation and Diagnosis (ICCAD)","volume":"57 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114865561","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nevertheless, most of these methods are supervised diagnostic approaches that require a large amount of labeled training data and different working conditions in addition to being time consuming. Therefore, this paper proposes an unsupervised diagnostic model by integrating a deep convolutional Auto-Encoder with a clustering algorithm, and aims to evaluate the potential of unsupervised and blind learning techniques in the context of unlabeled data for gear fault detection. The proposed method does not need statistical feature extraction, and directly uses the normalized frequency-domain signals as inputs. A huge amount of data is collected during manufacturing processes and the challenge nowadays is to efficiently make use of this massive data. In this paper, a multivariate time-series fault detection method, based on the 1D ResNet algorithm is proposed. The objective is to analyze the raw data, collected via various sensors during the semiconductor manufacturing process in order to detect abnormal wafers. For this, a set of features derived from specific tools in the manufacturing chain are selected and evaluated to characterize the wafer status. Two distinct data sets are used to validate the proposed approach. The results obtained highlight the strengths of the proposed method, which could serve as a valuable decision-making support for abnormal wafer detection in the semiconductor manufacturing process.","PeriodicalId":436377,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Control, Automation and Diagnosis (ICCAD)","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133130358","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First, the dynamic model of an unmanned aerial vehicle UAV is established by considering the linear velocities in terms of the analyzed system’s attitude angles. The UAV’s dynamic model is suitable for kinematic control by using two attitude angles as control inputs. The controller design is made up of an output feedback controller formed by the error variables, which are the difference between the measured output and the reference variables. Then, a model predictive control is established by considering an optimization problem with a performance index and the corresponding constraints. Furthermore, the stochastic properties of the UAV dynamic model are taken into account in this research study. The measured outputs provided by the sensors are constrained by the topological characteristics of the unmanned aerial vehicle to be analyzed. Finally, a numerical experiment and its conclusions are presented, demonstrating that the proposed control strategy provides optimal trajectory tracking.","PeriodicalId":436377,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Control, Automation and Diagnosis (ICCAD)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121693064","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
