Specifically, this study, using Linear regression coefficients analyses, a total of 360 questionnaire forms were distributed to customers, only 352 customers positively shared the questionnaire, only 345 questionnaires were valid and complete. As expected, this study showed that food and service quality have positive and significant effects on customer satisfaction and behavioral intentions. Further, providing the tangibles is particularly critical for creating customer satisfaction in hotel restaurants. finally, the findings indicated that customer satisfaction is indeed a significant mediating predictor of behavioral intention.","PeriodicalId":436255,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Tourism and Hospitality Management","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115703367","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Food poisoning outbreaks of salmonella, listeria, and E-coli have made the public more skeptical of the food they consume and the effect on the hotel performance. The purpose of this paper is to identify drivers, benefits, and challenges coming out of food safety practices and the effect of these practices on hotel performance in four and five-star hotels in Luxor and Aswan. For this purpose, the questionnaires were designed to gather all the necessary information related to food and beverage mangers during food safety practices, understand the Drivers, perceived benefits, and challenges of food safety practices in the selected hotels (17 hotels). The total number of participants was 68 of top management in the food and beverage department in the selected hotels. Findings show that although there are some crucial difficulties that seem to be quite difficult for hotels, benefits derived from it are greater and let the hotels fulfill the legal or market requirements. The major benefits and challenges of food safety practices were associated with financial, infrastructural, and people related issues. It is obvious that most of the difficulties are more directly or indirectly related to costs involved with the food safety practices that could not be recouped in the short term. However, these costs and investments should be seen in the long term as the return of the investment by for example decrease of contaminated food products, improvement in the area of food safety and quality, increase in reliability, and fewer complaints from consumers as well as reduction of operational costs.","PeriodicalId":436255,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Tourism and Hospitality Management","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123856448","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nowadays, the reviews received on OTA (Online Travel Agencies) and opinion websites reflect the quality management of hotels. This study seeks to demonstrate that when hoteliers consider comments and their guests’ opinions, they can improve their ratings and position on the social media their stakeholders utilize. To perform this research, the software REVINATE was used to measure the online reputation in 60 hotels of the GHL Hotel Chain located in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Peru. They were analyzed during a year (2019) highlighting some variables such as Country, Hotel, Channel for receiving opinions, and ranking on Trip Advisor. The results show the channels that are used the most to learn how the comments and the position of the hotel are mirrored to build their online reputation. These channels serve as a tool to create a guide for hotel managers in their digital marketing strategies to reach their targeted audience. Hoteliers should pay close attention to the comments that guests register daily on OTA and review sites because each response given is valued by potential stakeholders. It shows how the hotel’s quality is reflected in their position on TripAdvisor and therefore in other OTA.","PeriodicalId":436255,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Tourism and Hospitality Management","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114562388","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It includes a hybrid style of art in its decoration and interesting biographical texts of its owners that reflect the relationship of Petosiris with the contemporary foreign powers. Besides, it has a unique intentional architectural design that recalls the style of the temples during the last native rulers of Egypt. This paper investigates the influence of the foreign hegemony on some elements of Petosiris‘s tomb. It tries to understand the reasons for its hybrid style of art if it is a natural cultural impact of the occupation, a resilience with the conquerors for personal or national reasons or even an undercover resistance to the foreign occupation. This will be achieved through analyzing the main elements of the tomb. The paper concludes that the hybrid style of the tomb is a natural influence by the globalized Egyptian world and a resilience of Petosiris with the occupiers .","PeriodicalId":436255,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Tourism and Hospitality Management","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116986517","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
