This study utilized a mixed-methodology case study based on a market-leading company in the consumer-electronics business in Thailand. There are 282 samples for quantitative data collection and utilize the three-equation approach to test the mediating effect. There are 55 participants for qualitative data, and thematic analysis was used. To explain the process, this research found three themes, feeling valued, the family atmosphere, and needing to repay the company’s kindness. They need managers with TFL qualities to make them happen. This study reveals three insightful understandings of the concepts. Firstly, the distinction between transactional and relational elements of psychological contact is only apparent at the conceptual level, while in practice, they coincide. Secondly, job satisfaction contributes to organizational commitment. Lastly, the relational psychological contract reinforces the feeling of being overwhelmed by the company’s kindness making employees want to work for the company until retirement.","PeriodicalId":43547,"journal":{"name":"SOJOURN-Journal of Social Issues in Southeast Asia","volume":"2 3 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.9,"publicationDate":"2023-03-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82611301","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The recent virtual technology brings opportunities to higher education along with these digital adaptations. However, there is a need for experimental research exploring the educational influence of using immersive virtual reality in aviation safety subjects. This quasi-experimental aimed to 1) address the Airline Business students’ learning achievement after using virtual reality technology due to retaining knowledge influenced by virtual experience. 2) study the capability of immersive technology based on the Airbus A320 series aircraft’s virtual environment that establishes the Airline Business students’ learning development in three areas: cognitive domain, psychomotor domain, and affective domain. Two groups of 30 participants were recruited based on a simple random sampling from a total number of 75 third-year Airline Business students in the experimental and control groups. The parametric statistics were conducted on a hypothesis testing by comparing two measurements from the experimental and control groups. The results revealed that the test scores of the experimental group obtained significantly better academic achievement in terms of the knowledge needed to perform tasks than the control group. Besides, the behavioral learning and emotional intelligence required to complete performance-related tasks were noticed in the experimental group. In addition, the effectiveness index (EI) was computed to affirm that the innovative learning tool can be an integral part of the future physical classroom. It indicated that students effectively learn in the aviation safety context via practicing through virtual reality. The virtual experience positively helps motivate and engage students in an aviation safety study. It also profoundly enhances the Airline Business students’ competency, including knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to perform their future responsibilities as flight attendants.","PeriodicalId":43547,"journal":{"name":"SOJOURN-Journal of Social Issues in Southeast Asia","volume":"16 S13","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.9,"publicationDate":"2023-03-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"72394519","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It carries the context of urban development and has the dual attributes of language culture and intangible cultural heritage. Currently, the Chongqing dialect faces the impact of the official language and globalization. This paper research the design method of the Chongqing dialect in the city brand image. The objective is to build a visual atlas of the Chongqing dialect and explore its application scope through workshops and case studies to provide methods for spreading the Chongqing dialect and shaping the city’s brand image. The mixed research method is used to explore the design practice based on the theoretical results and the existing case studies. The participatory action research method is used in the workshop to try to design characters, voice interaction, materials, and technology intervention to build the dialect visual atlas. It also discusses the application of visual transformation of dialect in public transport, tourist attractions, core business districts, museums, and other places in Chongqing. The results show that the research provides a feasible basis for the promotion of Chongqing’s urban brand image, which is conducive to the development of the Chongqing dialect in the urban brand image, and also provides a reference for the design of dialect as the object.","PeriodicalId":43547,"journal":{"name":"SOJOURN-Journal of Social Issues in Southeast Asia","volume":"68 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.9,"publicationDate":"2023-03-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84110375","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

CSR has been perceived as an innovative way to engage with emerging issues. Tourism enterprises have increasingly contributed to society through CSR. Although the application of CSR in the tourism field has been widely investigated, there is a significant lack of research exploring CSR in China’s tourism development, particularly in rural tourism. IRT connecting multiple stakeholders to integrate tourism development with localities is necessary for current China. The previous experience implies that tourism enterprises can facilitate IRT development through well-designed CSR. Therefore, this study discusses the potential of CSR in promoting China’s IRT development and its implementation by interviewing field experts. The findings demonstrate that enterprises can promote IRT by conducting the proposed CSR. Moreover, the study reveals that successful CSR adoption requires the collaboration of local government and residents. Theoretically, this research develops a CSR framework that suits China’s context and offers theoretical support for CSR practices. The proposed CSR framework offers stakeholders useful suggestions to engage in CSR, promoting IRT development effectively.","PeriodicalId":43547,"journal":{"name":"SOJOURN-Journal of Social Issues in Southeast Asia","volume":"23 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.9,"publicationDate":"2023-03-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78150325","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Additionally, the research reviewed the ADANCO 2.3.1 software for composite analysis. A sample of 257 management science students from anonymous Rajabhat University was used for this study. The findings indicate that only the factors of output and setup had a significant relationship with student satisfaction concerning OE. The relationship between student satisfaction with OE and the quality of student life was found to be significant. The ADANCO was extremely useful for doing confirmatory composite analysis (CCA) in modern partial least squares structural equation models (PLS-SEM). It was also a helpful tool for transforming latent and observable variables into emergent ones for CCA research. This study successfully resolved the standard bias method resulting in a better outcome.","PeriodicalId":43547,"journal":{"name":"SOJOURN-Journal of Social Issues in Southeast Asia","volume":"40 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.9,"publicationDate":"2023-03-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75338266","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, unfortunately, these relationships frequently end in breakups. As a result, this study was aimed to (1) examine the communicative strategies used to disengage from male same-sex relationships, (2) explore the elements contributing to the choice of breakup tactics, and (3) investigate the effects of the disengagement strategies on the post-breakup relationship status. Interviews were used to elicit the participants’ previous relationships. Five male participants who dated a male were selected using the purposive sampling method, and semi-structured interviews were conducted to obtain the data. The adaptation of Baxter’s disengagement tactics served as the framework to describe the communication styles of Thai disengagers during the breakdown of the relationship with non-Thai partners. The findings revealed that the degree of intimacy and the culture of the disengagers influenced the selection of disengagement tactics. Moreover, the length of the relationship and the usage of breakup strategies were found to determine the post-breakup relationship status. As for the implications, the study may enable individuals to select the most appropriate strategies if a breakup is necessary.","PeriodicalId":43547,"journal":{"name":"SOJOURN-Journal of Social Issues in Southeast Asia","volume":"25 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.9,"publicationDate":"2023-02-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79410759","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Simultaneously, some ASEAN scholars suggest that ASEAN may need to improve the regional human-rights mechanism to resolve the crisis by practicing Responsibility to Protect (R2P). Nevertheless, the Myanmar crisis is being trapped in an anarchic political environment, different attitudes of ASEAN and Myanmar toward the crisis not only expanded the conflicts between non-interference and R2P, and resulted in the lack of a synergistic mechanism to cope with this crisis. To solve practical problems, meet the needs of the Myanmar people for humanitarian assistance and alleviate the ripple effects originating from the Myanmar crisis in neighboring countries, this article adopts constructivism of international relations (IR) and the theory of functional synergism to analyze the different attitudes to non-interference and R2P among the region, as well as proposes a strategy of constructing a new synergistic humanitarian-assistance mechanism that beyond the limitations of non-interference to dealing with the Myanmar crisis.","PeriodicalId":43547,"journal":{"name":"SOJOURN-Journal of Social Issues in Southeast Asia","volume":"81 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.9,"publicationDate":"2023-02-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75196513","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
