Comenzo con el fallecimiento del dictador Franco, en noviembre de 1975, y culmino en enero de 1977 con el asesinato de los abogados de Atocha. Sin embargo, el elemento determinante fue las impresionantes luchas sociolaborales que jalonaron durante todo el ano. Los cargos franquistas provinciales que se vieron mas directamente involucrados fueron los gobernadores civiles y los delegados provinciales de la Organizacion Sindical Espanola. The outbreak of the conflict triggered the immediate confiscation of the three major broadsheets of the town and started a process of emergence of new newspapers, first republicans –and after the fall of the city to the rebels in October 1937– then Francoists. Aprobado en octubre de 1979, desarrollaba una concepcion nacionalista del autogobierno, pese a la importancia electoral que tenian los no nacionalistas -casi la mitad de los votos-. Las razones que provocaron ese resultado fueron muy diversas: la debilidad del centro-derecha en el Pais Vasco; la defensa de una autonomia amplia por todas las fuerzas antifranquistas; el enorme impacto del terrorismo, que creo una profunda crisis social; la necesidad que tuvo UCD de encontrar apoyos locales para la autonomia vasca, lo que permitio el protagonismo del PNV EnglishThis paper studies the formation of the Statute of Autonomy of the Basque Country. It was approved in October 1979 and developed a nationalist conception of self-government, despite the electoral significance of non-nationalists, who held almost half of the votes. The reasons that caused this result were diverse.
