This architecture is based on two types of local area network (CANs and one network with a centralized control). Second, this architecture is modelled with stochastic timed Petri nets which allow one to express the main mechanisms of real time distributed systems and to do qualitative and quantitative analyses. Properties and performances of the elevator system are verified and evaluated.","PeriodicalId":433593,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings 1997 IEEE International Workshop on Factory Communication Systems. In particular, the cell level network SINEC H1 and the fieldbus SINEC L2 from Siemens manufacturer have been selected as a possible platform to implement a gateway between such architectures. In order to establish the parameters to be used on the performance study a previous development of a gateway between proprietary architectures which follow the layer structure of the OSI Reference Model is presented.","PeriodicalId":433593,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings 1997 IEEE International Workshop on Factory Communication Systems.
