The objective of our work is to help Radiologists in the treatment of brain MRI images, by detecting locating and giving the exact characteristics of a tumor areas. This is to cope with the very large number of images that have to be processed every day. Thus we can reduce the treatment time and the patients waiting time. The burden has become less heavy with the step automation. In this article we present a new fast and totally automatic tumor detection and extraction method, our work is divided into two parts: In the first time we will filter the image by the Nl-means filter to reduce the confusion risk and to soften the image. And in the second step we will classify the MRI into two classes (tumor classes and no tumor classes), this step will be done by the expectation maximization algorithm (EM). At the last time and to prove our method effectiveness a multiple evaluation criteria will be calculate, to compare our method to seven tumor extraction method which are the frequently extraction methods used in the literature and the tree last extraction methods proposed recently.","PeriodicalId":433166,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Optimization and Applications (ICOA)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122922173","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The system is modeled using Euler Lagrange formulation considering both the dynamics. And due to the absence of sensors, that can measure states at the ball joints, we propose to use a vision system that will be placed over the Quadrotor in order to determinate the position of the pendulum. For the nonlinear control design, a three-level cascade strategy is proposed. Each level of the cascade system executes a control law designed through the method of backstepping. Simulation results are carried out to corroborate the proposed control strategy using Matlab/Simulink and the Virtual Reality Environment.","PeriodicalId":433166,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Optimization and Applications (ICOA)","volume":"318 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122323049","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thus, the techniques of classification and detection have made much progress towards offering to medical experts and the doctors, organized and hierarchical systems to provide them with more information and knowledge for their daily function. Diagnostic assistance or diagnostic aid is an important tool for identifying abnormalities such as heart diseases. Having an appropriate model to increase the accuracy of the system, even in cases where inputs are generally low, is necessary. This paper aims to set up a medical diagnostic support system for the early detection of heart diseases, depending on cardiovascular risk factors to determine different clinical parameters useful for diagnosis. The validation of the suggested method is made using the sensitivity and specificity measures.","PeriodicalId":433166,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Optimization and Applications (ICOA)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126577268","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For this purpose, we present a new multi-stage approach started by, a preprocessing phase to enhance the contrast of the original image and to eliminate noises. Then an interpolation inpainting is performing to create the background estimation and the foreground (text) estimation, that will be used as feature to train and test a supervised artificial neural network. the final stage is the use of the ANN to classify the pixels of the original image into 0 for black and 1 for white to get the final binary image. The suggested method has been tested and evaluated over DIBCO'2009 database, the results show the successful of the proposed approach.","PeriodicalId":433166,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Optimization and Applications (ICOA)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115032163","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The reference measurements were determined by ionization chambers (PTW 31014) and were compared with GATE results. To reduce the computing time, the simulation tasks were splitted into several jobs to run simultaneously in our local cluster. The simulation parameters of GATE were adjusted to validate the accelerator modeling from percentage depth dose and profiles in the reference conditions. Good agreement between simulations and measurements in water was observed. A gamma index comparison was performed, and more than 97% of the points for all simulations passed the 2%/2 mm gamma criterion.","PeriodicalId":433166,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Optimization and Applications (ICOA)","volume":"92 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124590239","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The goal is to distribute roughly equal amounts of computational load across a number of processors, while minimizing inter-processor communication. The objective is to optimize the time of the simulation execution. In some applications, the load grow in unpredictable way that is why another distribution must be computed dynamically. Graph partitioning and repartitioning are usually combined to solve the dynamic load-balancing problem. In this paper we study and evaluate heuristic partitioning methods such as region expansion, multilevel, kernighan-lin algorithms; And methods of repartitioning graphs with a comparison between these different methods. Advantages and limitations of different existing heuristics in the literature are cleared.","PeriodicalId":433166,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Optimization and Applications (ICOA)","volume":"77 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124875371","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
