A emergência gradual da exegese cristã neste período depende de mudanças de perspectivas mais amplas e mais profundas, associadas com três movimentos que se cruzam: judaico, platônico e gnóstico. Neste período, diante influência do cristianismo, ocorreu também a difusão da alegoria na épica e a interpretação alegórica em gêneros não épicos no contexto cristão ou pelo menos em contextos influenciados pelo Cristianismo. Considerando isto, este artigo apresenta a obra Psicomaquia de Prudentius (348-405 d.C.), um poema épico alegórico cristão que descreve uma série de batalhas entre virtudes e vícios em torno do domínio da alma humana, isto é, a vida humana traduzida como luta trágica entre o bem e o mal. A prática de introduzir personagens narrativas na épica, cujos nomes representam qualidades abstratas e cujas ações podem ser comparadas às ações dos heróis ou deuses, era um motivo épico comum explorado na literatura greco-romana.","PeriodicalId":43247,"journal":{"name":"Horizonte-Revista de Estudos de Teologia e Ciencias da Religiao","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2018-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71069992","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Começa mostrando como o processo de recepção do Concilio Vaticano II na América Latina se dá a partir da Constituição Pastoral Gaudium et Spes e sua incipiente teologia dos “sinais dos tempos” mediante processo de inserção da Igreja na realidade latino-americana e de compromisso com os pobres e marginalizados e suas lutas por libertação. Em seguida, trata da atualidade desse dinamismo eclesial, indicando alguns ecos e/ou expressões atuais (antigos e novos) dos clamores e das resistências dos pobres e marginalizados em nosso continente – “sinal dos tempos” por excelência ao qual a Igreja deve estar sempre atenta, com o qual deve se envolver visceralmente e a serviço do qual deve se entregar com todas as suas forças.","PeriodicalId":43247,"journal":{"name":"Horizonte-Revista de Estudos de Teologia e Ciencias da Religiao","volume":"66 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2018-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71069971","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The sanctuary, in a broad sense, embraces a central nucleus and an extensive fringe, spatially and symbolically. Between the center and the outskirt there are gradations, continuities and discontinuities. In this way, this paper understands the sanctuary through its shadows and simulacra, rather than its luminous presence and splendor, through the periphery rather than through its centrality. The question posed here refers to the intermediate spaces where religion and tourism meet by confluence, mixing and contrasting among each other. This paper analyzes three spaces from an ethnographic methodology: Aparecida – SP, Cancao Nova – SP, and Ashram-Vrajabhumi – RJ. Therefore, we argue that the outskirts of sanctuaries allow the reverberation of ambiguous and oscillating identities between and integrity-oneness (faith) and a non-integrity/non-uniqueness (tourism).","PeriodicalId":43247,"journal":{"name":"Horizonte-Revista de Estudos de Teologia e Ciencias da Religiao","volume":"16 1","pages":"136-165"},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2018-04-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45464975","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is set in Bom Jesus da Lapa festival, which has been taking place for 323 years in the city located in western Bahia. The subjects of the research are pilgrim women from 50 to 70 years old that have been participating for more than five consecutive years in the aforementioned festival. They are from Bahia, Minas Gerais, Sao Paulo, Goias and Espirito Santo. Five Brazilian estates that report a higher rate of female participation in this religious event. We used the following methodologies as means of data collection: research of the literature, qualitative approach, and field and desk researches. We also applied techniques such as participant observations and semi-structured interviews. We aimed to analyse how the socio-cultural changes that are taking place in society articulates with the gender relations and the dynamics of Catholicism in popular Catholic devotions, especially in the Bom Jesus da Lapa pilgrimage. It emphasises the impacts of such articulations in the conceptions of gender and its relations to the pilgrimage itself or even beyond it as, for instance, in the pilgrim women's everyday relationships. It also asks what their roles in the pilgrimage are and what place they occupy in relation to the socio-cultural changes that occur in society. It finally examines how the pilgrim women perceive the space of pilgrimage in relation to a daily domestic life that challenges them as, in some moments, they become closer to or more distant from the gender identity that arises in a society where the submission of women to men is a key feature. According to the interviews and to the theoretical frameworks we used, we concluded that Bom Jesus da Lapa festival is a space of social reproduction of family structure as well as of feminine gender identity. In this pilgrimage, we can see a contrast in the redefinition of the role and profile of pilgrim women once it alternates between permanence and transformation of the gender identity proper to patriarchy.","PeriodicalId":43247,"journal":{"name":"Horizonte-Revista de Estudos de Teologia e Ciencias da Religiao","volume":"16 1","pages":"399-401"},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2018-04-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43633308","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

That author considers that a geographical space will always be the best option, due to its materiality to provide a less ephemeral memory construction. Thus, it is possible to emphasize the importance that the most diverse Christian denominations focus their efforts in strengthening religious tourism. As a case study, and within this theoretical basis, this article analyzes Seventh-day Adventism through its official magazine in Brazil, Revista Adventista , in an attempt to understand how that magazine has recently articulated the importance of places of memory of the movement and has opened itself to religious tourism, even if in an embryonic way. It concludes with an alert that the Adventist constituent memory, as well as any other religious group, must be constantly re-weighed and retransmitted to the members. And memory locations, along with religious tourism, can help maintain this project.","PeriodicalId":43247,"journal":{"name":"Horizonte-Revista de Estudos de Teologia e Ciencias da Religiao","volume":"16 1","pages":"38-65"},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2018-04-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48007195","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Adopting as a research problem the religious pilgrimages, take particular note of the shrines as symbolic markers towards the supernatural. This work has a double aim: to carry out a review and critical analysis of the religious pilgrimages and to study the specificity of the pilgrimages to the Shrine of Fatima, located in Portugal. After a brief mention of the dialectic dissidence-coexistence of ancient religious practices in secularized societies, the concepts of worship, rites and sacrifices are revisited. There follows a more in-depth analysis of the theme of pilgrimages to shrines, from the concept and historical review to the particularity of pilgrimages to the Shrine of Fatima, the latter viewed as a geo-symbol of religious tourism in Portugal. The results of a survey of 784 pilgrims to the Shrine of Fatima are presented, focusing on the beliefs, experiences, perceptions, purposes and expectations regarding the pilgrimage, as well as the nature of the requests addressed to the Lady of Fatima and promises fulfilled. Throughout the article the pilgrim character is emphasized, not neglecting the analysis of the active, voluntary and sacrificial behavioral implication as legitimating the benefits already granted or to be granted.","PeriodicalId":43247,"journal":{"name":"Horizonte-Revista de Estudos de Teologia e Ciencias da Religiao","volume":"16 1","pages":"194-222"},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2018-04-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47542838","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
