The object is the journal Paz e Terra, by Editora Civilizacao Brasileira in the 1960s, as a unique initiative in the field of religious, ecumenical and political communication. In order to respond to the Research problem “what is the place of the journal Paz e Terra in the memory of religious media productions in Brazil?” the article refers its basis in studies on “memory supports” and “sites (realms) of memory” are based. The articulation between the narrative of the memory of Paz e Terra and the description of the content of the ten published issues, which form the methodology of the research employed, was made based on the collection of the magazine, in documentary research, in statements of characters involved, collected during the research project for a  Master’s Degree in Social Memory by the author, and in works about Editora Civilizacao Brasileira and its editor Enio Silveira, about the Protestant leaders involved in the project and about the journal itself. This is what Pope Benedict XVI calls the \"technocratic cultural horizon\" and Pope Francis calls it the \"technocratic paradigm\". The text makes a philosophical-theological reflection of technological power in the current world from its implications and its socio-environmental challenges. It begins with a reflection on the importance and place of technology in human life (anthropological approach). It presents the fundamental characteristics of modern technology from its intrinsic relationship with science and with the dominant forces of society (relationship technology-science-power). From the perspective of the History of Concepts, especially the reflections of Reinhart Koselleck, the text seeks to reconstruct the history of the concept of fundamentalism in America, presenting some essential moments to understand the transformations in the use of the concept throughout the 20th century. The importance of differenciating between “historical fundamentalismo” (Protestant ans American) and its expansion towards “global fundamentalism” – a perspective that gained streght in academia since the 1980s – is emphasized. Para isso, abordamos os critérios de discernimentos propostos por Jacques Dupuis, Stanley Samartha, Amos Yong e Jürgen Moltmann em suas tentativas de diálogo inter-religioso. Foi possível perceber algumas limitações nas respectivas propostas, como por exemplo, a ausência em se considerar a vida da natureza como critério de discernimento. This article intends to do an exegetical analysis of the text (Isa 59:15b-21), through the Historical-Critical-Literary Method, by describing God as the “redeemer of His people” and as a warrior whose powerful hand will bring justice, and notwithstanding the promise of sending a redeemer to save the people and to establish a new covenant, there will be destruction and calamity beforehand. Those divine interventions are due to the lack of a mediation which can ensure righteousness and justice (cf. In Brazilian’s episcopy the heterogeneity was also a mark. Given this data, this article was written with two big goals: identify transversalities on the forms of thinking and acting of Proenca Sigaud and Helder Camara, from the big themes proposed for the Second Vatican Council, and analyze affinities/convergences and oppositions/divergences existent between the positions, respectively progressives and conservatives, especially since the answers (vota) that  were elaborated to the solicited consultations at the ante preparatory phase; related to the work, there are discussions referring to the groups which they associated themselves with and the articulations established, as well as theirs epistolates and the questions on them treated.
