Based on one-factorial experimental design, 61 participants were randomly assigned to watch instructional videos in one of three conditions: positive emotion danmaku, negative emotion danmaku, and no danmaku. A Tobii X120 eye-tracker, an emWave system, and a CUBand brainwave tracker were used to record the learners' eye movements, emotional state, and brainwave activities. The learners' learning outcomes were measured with retention and transfer tests. The results indicated that danmaku emotion neither promoted nor hindered learners' learning outcomes; positive emotion danmaku evoked learner's positive emotion and relaxation; the learner's attention was captured by danmaku. The study shows it would be useful to incorporate danmaku emotion on instructional video to induce learners' positive emotions during learning.","PeriodicalId":432459,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE International Conference on Educational Technology (ICET)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128965590","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The course was designed according to the distribution of the learners according to their learning styles and preferences. The aim of the research was to show how the structure of the course can be tailored around the individual learning styles. The paper gives a brief explanation of how learning styles and adaptive learning are defined in modern educational environment. The terms “learning styles” and “adaptive learning” are not new in the pedagogical research, but they have become popular recently with the emergence of distance learning. 178 students from different countries were interviewed using VARK questionnaire to get information about their learning preferences and cognitive characteristics. On the bases of the received data the e-learning Russian course was designed with adaptive content, sequencing and assessment. The survey of students' satisfaction after the study showed that adaptive learning is beneficial for training language skills and can be widely used in the situation when the students and teachers can communicate only through electronic media.","PeriodicalId":432459,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE International Conference on Educational Technology (ICET)","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130381478","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The irregular component spacing is one of them. It is necessary to compute the irregularity based on reference characters. This paper presents one quantitative computing approach based on the database of reference Chinese characters' component spacing. The database provides heuristic information for component extraction of digital ink Chinese characters, rule selection for component spacing calculation, and reference data for computing irregularity. Digital ink is used to collect handwritten Chinese characters because of its natural writing and rich information. The automatic extraction of digital ink Chinese character components is realized by reading the heuristic information from the database, and the interactive correction is also provided. Taking the components as a whole, the boundary distances between each component are calculated. Based on the information of reference Chinese character component spacing, the difference and ratio of the component spacing between digital ink characters and reference ones are calculated. This not only provides correction data, but also indicates the severity of the irregularity. The experimental data includes six categories of Chinese character structures, and each structure includes six examples. The calculation results can be used for statistical analysis and rule discovery, which provides data support for the study of Chinese character acquisition.","PeriodicalId":432459,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE International Conference on Educational Technology (ICET)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124196272","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper selects the evaluation indicators to estimate the practical innovation ability of graduate students and undergraduates, and proposes an evaluation algorithm on the basis of deep belief network (DBN), and an improved algorithm based on practical innovation ability model of graduate students. Since the evaluation indicators and data distribution of undergraduate students are very similar to those of graduate students, the improved algorithm adopts the parameter based transfer learning method. The weight of the same characteristics of undergraduates and graduate students is directly multiplied by the difference factor as the initial weight of the undergraduate fine-tuning. The weight of disparate characteristics for undergraduates and graduates needs to be fine-tuned and re-trained. Experiment results show the improved algorithm has wider application ranges and higher accuracy rate, overcomes the problem of strong subjectivity about index weights, and it is beneficial to promote reform of talent training and the overall improvement of talent training quality. The comprehensive evaluation algorithms on the basis of fuzzy mathematics, the evaluation algorithms of probabilistic neural networks, the general deep learning evaluation algorithms, and the presented algorithm are compared to verify the effectiveness of the proposed evaluation algorithm.","PeriodicalId":432459,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE International Conference on Educational Technology (ICET)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134167477","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, there are some problems of accuracy and real-time in eye machine ranging. To solve this problem, this paper adopts the technical idea of “face detection-eye recognition-spatial positioning”, from coarse to fine, and constructs an adaptive vision protection desk system based on machine vision. Firstly, the improved census transform edge matching algorithm is used to obtain the edge depth map, intercept the human contour, and separate the head and shoulder to get the face area; Then, the designed eye detector is used to detect the human eyes, and the disparity is obtained by matching the corresponding human eyes on the right side; Finally, the vertical distance between the human eyes and the desktop is obtained through the optimized disparity calculation formula combined with the height calculation equation. Through many experiments, the remarkable effect of this method to improve the accuracy and real-time of man-machine ranging is verified.","PeriodicalId":432459,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE International Conference on Educational Technology (ICET)","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134515340","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In both perspectives, the search for student/consumer satisfaction is a reality. The methods for measuring student satisfaction, in the Brazilian scenario, are mostly based on marketing metrics, without a real understanding of the students' feelings and perceptions. Given this scenario, the question is whether there is a divergence in perception between the student and the former student and if there is any viable technique capable of measuring these issues. In a quantitative survey, with 256 students, 81 former students, and 47 professors, an adaptation of the SAM (Self-Assessment Manikin) scale was carried out, with reason-emotion humanoids and academic stimuli. The main result is that the SAM is a viable, fast and effective model. It addresses institutional technical issues from a personal perspective. Furthermore, the divergence of perception between the former students and the current students was found.","PeriodicalId":432459,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE International Conference on Educational Technology (ICET)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134059213","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
