Various studies on the performance of nurses in Indonesia show that the performance of nurses is still relatively low between 47.6% - 53.4%. Nurse performance is thought to be influenced by 3 factors, namely individual factors, psychological factors and organizational factors. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of characteristic, psychological, and organizational factors on nurse performance. This research is a quantitative research with a cross sectional study approach. The research was conducted at the Royal Prima Hospital, Medan. The research population was 367 people, the sample obtained was 115 people. Sampling by purposive sampling. Data analysis was univariate, bivariate with chi-square test, and multivariate with multiple logistic regression at 95% confidence level ( a=0.05). The results showed that the factors that influence the performance of nurses at the Royal Prima General Hospital Medan are psychological factors (job satisfaction) (p=0.011), organizational factors (leadership and organizational culture) respectively p = 0.004 and p = 0.002. Individual characteristic factors had no effect, namely age (p=1,000), gender (p=0.661), education (p=0.454), and years of service (p=0.090). The most dominant variable influencing the nurse's performance is the leadership variable, Exp(B)/OR = 6.633, meaning that the nurse who states leadership is in a good category has a 6.6 times higher chance of having a good performance than the nurse who states that leadership is not good. It is recommended that the leadership of the Royal Prima General Hospital Medan to provide guaranteed incentives to all nurses so as to increase satisfaction. Head of the room to demonstrate leadership that is acceptable to all parties. Hospitals should maintain and improve the organizational culture that has been good so far.","PeriodicalId":432290,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Health and Pharmaceutical (IJHP)","volume":"238 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125762649","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One way to prevent HAIs is by increasing adherence of hand hygiene practice in healthcare workers, including nurses, especially in rooms with high risk of HAIs incidents. This study aims to understand the effect of health belief model (HBM) on the adherence of hand hygiene practice of nurses in rooms with high HAIs risk. A total number of 170 nurses who worked in high HAIs risk enrolled in this study. All nurses then asked to fill questionnaire which consist of demographic factors, experience, personal beliefs, cue to action, and self-efficacy. During this study, all nurses hand hygiene practice also observed directly by researcher. This study found that demographic factor, personal belief, cue to action and self-efficacy have no significant relationship with hand hygiene practice adherence (p>0.05), whilst modifying factor like experience shown to have significant relationship with adherence of hand hygiene practice (p<0.05). Demographic factor, personal belief, cue to action, and self-efficacy component of HBM can’t predict the adherence of hand hygiene practice. However, modifying factor in HBM such as experience can predict the adherence of hand hygiene practice.","PeriodicalId":432290,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Health and Pharmaceutical (IJHP)","volume":"150 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117309301","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Antioxidants are compounds that can inhibit free radical reactions in the body. Free radicals have an impact on the pathogenesis of several diseases in humans due to oxidative stress in cells. The purpose of this study was to determine the class of secondary metabolites of agarwood bark and antioxidant activity and to compare the value of IC50 (Inhibitory concentrations) of the methanol extract of agarwood bark with the IC50 of vitamin C in the DPPH method using UV-Vis spectrophotometry. The methanol extract of agarwood bark was macerated using methanol, then determined the content of secondary metabolites of Simplicia. The determination of antioxidant activity was carried out on the methanol extract of agarwood bark with the addition of DPPH at various concentrations. The sample concentrations were 20, 40, 60, 80, and 100 µg/mL.. As a comparison, vitamin C was used with concentrations of 4, 8, 12, 16 and 20 µg/mL.. Then they calculated percent attenuation (% inhibition) and the value of IC50. The results of the screening on the methanol extract of agarwood bark contained chemical compounds such as flavonoids, saponins, and tannins. The determination of antioxidant activity was carried out using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer with the DDPH method. The results were obtained from the methanol extract of the bark of agarwood, which has antioxidant activity in the strong category with an IC50 value of 94.59 µg/mL.and vitamin C in the very strong category with an IC50 value of 22,11 µg/mL.","PeriodicalId":432290,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Health and Pharmaceutical (IJHP)","volume":"124 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133844571","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
