Environmental hazards like pollution and UV radiation harm the skin. Antioxidants, like Eucalyptus globulus, protect against free radicals, making them valuable in medicinal use. The study aimed to investigate the efficacy of Eucalyptus administration in inhibiting skin ageing in rats exposed to ultraviolet-B light. A true experiment was conducted to examine the effectiveness of Eucalyptus in reducing skin ageing in Wistar rats exposed to ultraviolet-B radiation. The study used the \"3R Principle\" and SPSS to analyse the relationship between collagen quantity, Eucalyptus, and UVB radiation. The study found normal distribution for the control and treatment groups, with a significance of 0.200 and 0.091, respectively. The Levene test showed homogeneity and a T-test result 0.000, indicating a significant difference. The control group had a moderate collagen density, while the treatment group with Eucalyptus extract had a tighter collagen density. The study concludes that the Eucalyptus tree extracts, including tannins, saponins, and flavonoids, have been found to have anti-ageing and collagen-increasing effects in mice exposed to UVB light. The treatment group showed significantly increased collagen density, indicating potential anti-ageing properties in the treatment group.","PeriodicalId":432290,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Health and Pharmaceutical (IJHP)","volume":"224 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141386875","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The phytochemicals included in celery, such as flavonoids, may mitigate lead-induced kidney damage. This research aimed to determine how administering celery extract affected the expression of the Caspase-3 gene and the kidney TNF-α gene in Rattus Norvegicus Wistar white rats exposed to lead. The research method true experiment examined the effects of 80 mg/day celery extract on Caspase-3 gene expression and renal TNF-α gene expression in rats exposed to lead. Each of the three groups will include six rats; there will be eighteen male Wistar rats in the study. The study used SPSS 26.0 and the Saphiro Wills test to analyze data on TNF-α and Caspase 3 expression in rats exposed to lead acetate (Pb). The results showed a normal distribution for the negative control group (K-) and the positive control group (K+) and a normal distribution for the treatment group (P). However, the paired t-test showed significant differences in all treatment groups (p <0.05), indicating a normal distribution in the data. The study concludes the impact of celery extract on kidney function in lead-exposed Wistar rats, revealing various active compounds like flavonoids. Despite insignificant caspase 3 reduction, flavonoids showed potential in mitigating lead-induced kidney damage.","PeriodicalId":432290,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Health and Pharmaceutical (IJHP)","volume":"208 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141387093","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It used retrospective data from medical record and prescription of ischemic stroke inpatients from January to June 2019. The data collected include hospital characteristics, patient characteristics, supporting characteristics and treatment costs. Result: The data cames from 17 hospitals. Based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 257 medical records were analyzed. The average percentage of drug use was 73.22%. Its was influenced by the hospital class, the number of supporting examinations, the number of drug items. Type B and C hospitals used non government formulary. There were citicolin, mecobalamin, piracetam, neurotropic multivitamin, flunarizine. Conclusion: The average percentage of drug use was still less than 100%. Bioactive chemicals from plants like butterfly pea flower and Clitoria Ternatea can potentially treat DM, inhibit carbohydrate-digesting enzymes, and potentially regenerate pancreatic beta cells. This study tests butterfly pea flower extract on obesity-related pancreatic function in white rats. In obese rats given varied dosages of butterfly pea flower extract, the study evaluates pancreatic tissue histopathology and ethanol extract properties. The study examines male Wistar rats' acclimatization before treatment with butterfly pea flower extract, a high-fat diet, and butterfly pea flower extract, comparing the effects of the extract on rats. Pancreatic function is examined using enzymes amylase and lipase. Histopathological observation of pancreatic organs involves several steps, including fixation, washing, infiltration, embedding, cutting, attaching, deparaffinization, dealcoholization, staining, mounting, and scoring. A post-test-only control group design compared butterfly pea flower extract and pancreatic function in male white rats. Butterfly pea flower extract improved pancreatic histology in obese white rats at 600mg/KgWB, closer to the normal group. The extract contains secondary metabolites that repair cell tissue damaged by the rats' high-fat diet and obesity.","PeriodicalId":432290,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Health and Pharmaceutical (IJHP)","volume":"1027 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140445755","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study was to determine parents' knowledge about dental and oral health using a questionnaire conducted by interviewing parents and children of Nurul Hayat Islamic Kindergarten in Kapuk Village, Cengkareng District, North Jakarta. The data analysis used was univariate and bivariate analysis using the chi square test. Research Results The results showed that parents' knowledge of dental and oral health on the incidence of caries on the Chy-square test resulted in a P value of 0.00 <0.05, so the analysis was that there was a relationship between the history of parental knowledge about dental and oral health and the incidence of caries. The results of the OR calculation were 0.583, which means that the incidence of caries was 0.583 times lower with good parental knowledge about dental and oral health compared to parents with less knowledge (95% CI 0.362-0.941).
