Previous studies found a lack of awareness constraining social media marketing adoption in small enterprises. Hence, thisstudy aimsatexploringthe awareness of homestay operators regarding the use of social media as a marketing toolin CBT of rural homestay operators in Malaysia. A survey study was doneby using a semi-structured interview involvingnine respondents from nine homestays across Johor, Malaysia. The data wereanalysed using thematic analysis. The findings show that the community still has low awareness ofthe digital divide as well asthe unavailability of relevant human resources and technical expertise. It also indicated that the homestays’ operatorsstilluse Malay rather than English on their social media promotion and interaction, which restricts their chancesto access global markets.It is critical for operators of homestays to improve their competencies to maintain their businesses and increase their level of market competitiveness.Therefore, this study constitutes an essential call for stakeholders’ attention to enhance CBT rural homestay operators’ awareness through effective training. Accordingly, it closes the digital gaps that challenge social media marketing awareness and hence encourages technology adoption in the community.","PeriodicalId":43208,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Technical Education and Training","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.7,"publicationDate":"2023-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41665637","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Despite the various efforts made by universities for students' online learning during the pandemic, not much has been identified about how students perceived online learning and how it affected their psychological well-being (PWB). This study examines the differences between male and female students' perceptions of online learning during the pandemic. A quantitative research design was used to measure the effect of PWB among students on online learning during the pandemic. The population consistedof first-year students in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) from Bachelor of Technology programs; hence, 127 respondents were sampled. A validated researcher-developed questionnaire was used to test the reliability of the study. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Spearman Rho correlation and Mann-Whitney U were used to test the hypotheses at a p-value less than 0.05 level of significance. The findings revealed a PWB effect on students' perceptions of online learning. Meanwhile, there was no significant difference between genders affected by PWB in students' perceptions of online learning during the pandemic. Therefore, it is recommended to focus on one of the six elements of PWB regarding the perception of online learning among students.","PeriodicalId":43208,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Technical Education and Training","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.7,"publicationDate":"2023-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41723397","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

BIM is software for simulating all information in a three-dimensional model that is not only an image, but also a development project system, management, method, and work steps.Therefore, this study aims to determine the relationship between students' self-efficacy and work readiness of Vocational High Schoolsin facing the Building Information Modelling (BIM) technology era that developed during construction work.BIM as a form of a management information system requires middle-class employees to work jointly as a team. In the field of AEC, the process of planning and design, development, as well as maintenance is performed collaboratively. Furthermore, a total of 360 students in West Java were selected as participants using proportional stratified random sampling. Data were collected using product-moment analysis. The results showed that self-efficacy was positively and significantly related to work readiness with a correlation coefficient of r= 0.692 and p-0.000 where p<0.05. This means that the increase inself-efficacy helps to develop work readiness and vice versa. The coefficient of determination shows that self-efficacy and other variables contribute 47.9% and52.1%, respectively, to students' work readiness in facing the BIM technology era. This can be interpreted that the higher the self-efficacy, the lower the presentation anxiety and vice versa. Based on the results of this study as recommendations for improvement, it is necessary to carry out additional learning activities to increase student skills, so that student confidence will increase when working.","PeriodicalId":43208,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Technical Education and Training","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.7,"publicationDate":"2023-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41794729","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The lack of entrepreneurial personality that is supported by technological competence is the main problem. In addition, low social and psychological capital is a consequence of theseproblems. This study examines the determination of the influence of social and psychological capital, and entrepreneurial personality on entrepreneurial intentions. In addition, the entrepreneurial personality is tested for its role as a mediator and the moderating effect of technological competence is tested, which includes technological capacity and capability. Ex-post facto research was conducted involving 647 participants. Data were collected through the entrepreneurial intention scale questionnaire. SEM analysis was used to test the direct effect relationship based on the path coefficient and the mediation and moderating effect based on the bootstrap results. Findings revealed that social and psychological capital, and entrepreneurial personality have a significant effect on entrepreneurial intentions. Entrepreneurial personality plays a significant role in mediating the effect of social capital, but not on the influence of psychological capital. Meanwhile, capacity and capability only play a significant role in moderating the influence of social capital, even though technological capabilities are cansignificantly moderate entrepreneurial personality. These results indicate the importance of social and psychological capital, and entrepreneurial personality as an important foundation for the formation of entrepreneurial intentions in vocational education students. On the other hand, technological competence is very important in strengthening social capital to stimulate the growth of entrepreneurial intentions.","PeriodicalId":43208,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Technical Education and Training","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.7,"publicationDate":"2023-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43129790","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study employs an experimental designwith pre-and post-test control groups to class-XI vocational students. We taught vocational students about brake pad fabrication and its industrial applications.Conventional methods of instruction were used in the control class, while the experimental demonstration method with learning videos was used in the experimental class.The learning videos used in the experimental class during the learning process contain basic theory and experiments on related materials. The resultsof the pre-test and post-testscores were analysed and measured to determine student learning outcomes. The findings revealed differences in learning outcomes between the control and experimental groups. Students in the experimental groupcomprehended the concept of fabricatingbrake pads more thoroughly than students in the control group. Students can get concrete examples from the teacher or instruction through experimental demonstration. Practical experience can help to form strong memories and skills. This success can be attributedto the availability of learning videos that students can watch repeatedly. Students are also more enthusiastic about learning videos because we teach something that can be applied in the industry. The addition of experimental demonstrations using commercially available materials increases student interest by increasing students' ability to experiment on their own.In addition, we also explain the concept of recycle and reuse agricultural waste for fabricating brakepad that can support current sustainable development goals (SDGs).Further learning applications using experimental demonstration methods are expected to be carried out because this method is proven to be effective for student learning","PeriodicalId":43208,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Technical Education and Training","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.7,"publicationDate":"2023-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45808376","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
