Therefore, the purpose of this study is to identify the necessary learning model in Mathematics at Girimarto District Elementary Schools and to analyze the application of the problem-based learning model at these schools. This research is classified as descriptive quantitative research, and it involves a random sample of 106 students and 10 elementary school teachers in the Girimarto area. The data collection technique used is non-test, specifically through the use of questionnaires. The data obtained from the questionnaires are analyzed descriptively using percentages to depict the research findings. The study highlighted a suboptimal implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model in Girimarto District, with only 44.94% of the sample demonstrating mastery of critical thinking, 35.67% exhibiting creative reasoning, and 25.09% performing analytical thinking. This indicates a lack of High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS)-based learning among teachers. Various obstacles were identified, including student passivity, fear, and unfamiliarity with the PBL model. Interviews and observations further revealed that many teachers had not fully grasped the concept of PBL. The study emphasizes the need to address these obstacles to enhance PBL implementation and improve Mathematics learning outcomes in Girimarto District Elementary Schools. The implications of these findings underscore the necessity of addressing these barriers to enhance the implementation of PBL and improve Mathematics learning outcomes in Girimarto Elementary School.","PeriodicalId":431520,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Ilmiah Ilmu Terapan Universitas Jambi","volume":" 24","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141128433","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Employing a multifaceted methodology, the research adopted a descriptive approach augmented by an electronically distributed questionnaire, meticulously tailored to assess students' perceptions. A diverse cohort of 1,000 male and female students, selected through a rigorous random sampling method, participated in the study during the inaugural semester of the 2023/2024 academic year. Results unveiled a strikingly high perceived impact of distance e-learning on university education outcomes, with an average score of 3.70 and a standard deviation of 0.62, indicative of a robust consensus among students. Intriguingly, while concerns regarding the negatives of e-learning dominated discourse, the positives of distance education also garnered substantial recognition, albeit ranking slightly lower. Furthermore, the field of outcomes of distance e-learning emerged with a moderate degree of impact, underscoring the multifaceted nature of its influence. Notably, statistical analysis revealed no discernible differences in perceptions across gender or academic year cohorts, suggesting a uniform perspective on the efficacy of distance e-learning among Jordanian university students. These findings not only enrich scholarly discourse but also offer valuable insights for educational policymakers and practitioners seeking to optimize the integration of e-learning modalities in university settings.","PeriodicalId":431520,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Ilmiah Ilmu Terapan Universitas Jambi","volume":" 14","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141128439","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While the significance of character education in shaping young minds is widely acknowledged, this research pioneers a novel approach by scrutinizing the nuanced portrayal of character values embedded within the curriculum materials tailored for fourth-grade students. Leveraging a qualitative methodology, researchers conducted an exhaustive document study, meticulously collecting and analyzing the requisite literature, including softbooks and hardbooks. The findings unearth a compelling revelation: amidst the prescribed curriculum, certain character values crucial for holistic development are conspicuously absent, potentially undermining the efficacy of the teaching and learning process. Such gaps in character education not only impede academic progress but also exert deleterious effects on students' social and emotional well-being, both within the classroom environment and beyond. By spotlighting these lacunae, this study underscores the imperative for a comprehensive overhaul of character education initiatives, advocating for a more robust integration of essential values into the educational fabric. The research serves as a clarion call for educators and policymakers alike to redouble their efforts in nurturing a generation imbued with exemplary character values, thereby fostering a more compassionate and resilient society.","PeriodicalId":431520,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Ilmiah Ilmu Terapan Universitas Jambi","volume":" 97","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141128420","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Utilizing the circular diffraction method, this study pioneers the identification of the He-Ne laser wavelength through experimentation with both three and five-slit diaphragms. The investigation with a three-slit diaphragm involves three variations in slit distances: d = 0.125 mm, 0.25 mm, and 0.5 mm at a screen distance of 150 nm, revealing diffraction patterns across three orders of magnitude. For the five-slit diaphragm, the analysis extends to a slit distance of d = 0.25 nm and a layer distance of 320 nm. Interestingly, the results reveal that the wavelength spectrum of the He-Ne laser depends on the variation of the gap distance. Remarkably, a gap distance as minimal as 0.25 nm yields wavelengths within the range of 641 nm to 660.67 nm, highlighting the diffraction process's sensitivity to minute variations in experimental parameters. This groundbreaking research not only elucidates the intricate interplay between light diffraction and experimental configurations but also underscores the circular diffraction method's versatility in determining the fundamental properties of laser light. This research employed a qualitative method, non-interactive type with the approach used being concept analytical. The design of the citizen science project is conducted through a sequential cycle with its main components including: identifying the need or problem, determining if citizen science is the right approach, designing the project, building the community, managing the data, and evaluating the project. This project design illustrates an organized method of citizen science in ecological learning that is customized to the gold mining area. The contribution of participants is very important to emphasise at every activity in the project design, therefore the development of activities in this project refers to the logic model. The type of project relevant to the issue raised is to assess the potential or ecological status of the Batanghari River through the measurement of biological quality elements, physico-chemical elements, and hydromorphological quality elements, referring to the European Environment Agency standards.
