Kompozit üretimi için yüksek saflıkta alaşım ve seramik tozları kullanılmış, elde edilen homojen karışım soğuk preste sıkıştırılmış ve tüp fırında sinterlenmiştir. Tayin edilen değişkenlerin sinterleme sonrası yoğunluğa etkisi Taguchi deney tasarımı yöntemi kullanılarak incelenmiştir. Bu amaç ile sürece en uygun Taguchi tasarımı olan, L9 ortogonal deney tasarımı seçilmiş ve deneyler bu matrise göre gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu tasarım ile yapılan analizler sonucunda elde edilen S/N oranı yanıtlarına göre, sıkıştırma basıncının en yüksek etkiye, takviye oranının da görece düşük etkiye sahip olduğu gözlemlenmiştir. Nötronların madde ile etkileşimi, özellikle nötron enerjisine ve koruyucu malzemenin yoğunluğuna bağlıdır. Bu çalışmada, farklı oranlarda B4C ve SiC bileşenleri kullanılarak oluşturulan 100_B4C, 8200, 7300 ve 6400 kodlu 4 farklı B4C-SiC içerikli kompozit kullanılmıştır. İTÜ TRIGA Mark-II nükleer reaktöründe Nötron Howitzer (Pu-Be) sayım sistemi kullanılarak elde edilen deneysel nötron sonuçları Monte Carlo simülasyonları ile karşılaştırılmıştır. Bu karşılaştırma, kompozit malzemelerin nötron zayıflatma özelliklerini deneysel ve teorik sonuçların birlikte değerlendirilmesini sağlamıştır. En yüksek nötron radyasyon zayıflatma özelliğine sahip olan kompozitlerin sırasıyla 100_B4C>8200>7300>6400 şeklinde olduğu görülmüştür. This study was carried out to investigate the effect of hexagonal boron nitride nanoparticles (BNNPs) on Bovine Coronavirus (BCoV) and Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) by different methods. First, biological effects of different BNNPs concentrations lower than 0.5 mg/mL examined on HRT-18 (Human Rectal Tumor) for 5 days. Different concentrations of hBN mixed with BCoV in liquid, on membrane or directly on cells and examined for differences of titers or replications. And also Bacterial Filtration Efficiency (BFE) test of hBN powders coated on polypropylene fabric by spray method was applied against S. aureus. The compound was found slightly toxic on the HRT-18 cell line by live cell counting, while no remarkable morphological difference was observed. BNNPs treatment with 0.025 or 0.3mg/mL concentrations did not reduce the infective titer and create no inhibitory effect on in vitro replication. Stability of virus titer after treatment of BNNPs coated fabric also indicated no antiviral efficiency. But hBN applied fabric formed a barrier of ≥90.3%, while non hBN applied fabric formed ≥64.6% barrier. Farklı [Dy+3 / Eu+3] oranları kullanılarak enerji verimliliği en yüksek olan formülasyon belirlenmiştir. Yüksek enerji verimliliğine (~0,83) sahip emisyon [Dy+3 / Eu+3] = 0,5 oranında görülmüştür. Ayrıca Dy+3 iyonlarının miktarının artmasıyla ışıldama yoğunluğunun azaldığı görülmüştür. To address this issue, new material solutions are emerging that provide better heat dissipation. Boron nitride is a promising candidate as a heat conductor material in thermal management systems because of its high thermal conductivity. Therefore, this material allows effective heat dissipation and reduces the risk of thermal runaway issues. To this end, hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) was coated onto the outer cases of 18650-type batteries to dissipate the heat produced inside the battery. A cyclic charge-discharge test was performed on the hBN-coated battery sample at 10C to compare the results with a reference sample with only a polymer insulator. The findings revealed that the hBN coating on the insulator-free battery case offered efficient heat dissipation, improved capacity retention, and less change in internal resistance. In this study, the mechanical properties of the circular hybrid composite materials which was produced in the form of rod with aluminum sheath and metal matrix composite core (Al-Ceramic mixture) were investigated under compression and bending loads. Although some mechanical properties of metal matrix composites (MMC) are improved with ceramic reinforcement, some of their properties as deformation ability is reduced. It was aimed to increase them by forming aluminum sheath on the outside of these materials. Al7075 aluminum alloy was used as sheath material while Al2124 alloy and B4C were used as core material. Extrusion process was used to produce the composite rods. The extrusion billets were produced with PIT (powder in tube) method. In this method, Al2124-B4C powder mixture was compressed in Al7075 tubes. Al2124-B4C powder mixture was prepared volumetrically at three different ratios (% 5, % 10 and % 15). The extrusion operation was realized at constant temperature (500 °C) and constant extrusion rate (R=14) and the composite rods produced in 8 mm diameter. The composite bars produced with and without sheaths were subjected to compression and three-point bending tests. According to the test results, with increasing of the B4C ratio in MMC bars, the deformation rate decreased rapidly. Hazırlanan numunelerin mikroyapıları taramalı elektron mikroskobu (SEM) ve enerji dağılımlı X-ışınları (EDX) analizleri ile incelenmiştir. Numunelerin 20 saniye yükleme süresinde 5 farklı noktadan sertlik değerleri alındı ve bu sertlik değerlerinin ortalaması alınarak ortalama sertlik değerleri belirlendi. Aşınma testleri pin-on-disk deney cihazında farklı yük değerlerinde (5 N, 10 N ve 15 N) toplam 300 metre kayma mesafesinde, 50 mm/sn kayma hızında ve kuru şartlarda yapıldı. Sürtünme katsayısı değerleri ile aşınma sonucundaki ağırlık kayıpları incelendi. Yapılan deneyler sonucunda hBN katkısının AZ91 alaşımı üzerinde sertlik değerinde çok daha yüksek değerleri getirdiği görülmüştür. In this study, chitosan-based hydrogels were loaded with different concentrations of sodium tetrafluoroborate (NaBF4) to fabricate an antimicrobial wound care system. Antimicrobial activity, and cytotoxicity of NaBF4, and surface morphology, chemical bond structures and antimicrobial activity of Chitosan:NaBF4 hydrogels against a broad spectrum of microorganisms including an antibiotic resistant species were investigated. NaBF4 showed higher antibacterial activity for gram-positive bacteria than gram-negative bacteria. MIC values of NaBF4 were 3.906, 1.953, and 7.813 µg/µL for every gram-negative, gram-positive, and fungal species, respectively. Direct cytotoxicity of NaBF4 on the L929 cell line was investigated by the MTT assay. IC50 value after 24 h incubation was calculated as 3.2 µg/µL which is within the range of concentration with antimicrobial activity. The antimicrobial activities of chitosan hydrogels were investigated by disc diffusion method. Antimicrobial activity of hydrogel increased with increasing NaBF4 concentration while parent high molecular weight chitosan-based hydrogel did not show antimicrobial activity. B4C is the basic material of control rods used to control the fission rate in nuclear reactors and is used in many nuclear reactors. The high neutron absorbing capacity of B4C material makes this material very useful. In order to examine B4C used in nuclear technology, mass attenuation coefficient (MAC) and lineer attenuation coefficient (LAC) values, which are two important radiation parameters, were examined through open access Photon Protection and Dosimetry (PSD) software which is at phy-x.net/PSD.
