Abstract

Within the scope of this study, the importance of boron element which has the largest reserve in Turkey and boron carbide, the most important material produced from boron, in nuclear technology has been emphasized. B4C is the basic material of control rods used to control the fission rate in nuclear reactors and is used in many nuclear reactors. The high neutron absorbing capacity of B4C material makes this material very useful.
