The research object is the speech data of business people when interacting within one company or between companies. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research because it aims to describe linguistic phenomena naturally. Politeness is a rule of behavior determined and mutually agreed upon by a particular community, so politeness is also an agreed requirement in social behavior. In their interactions, business people must be polite. This is reflected in his speech with the perpetrator of the speech act. The study results indicate that in addition to being grammatically correct in terms of the form of Keigo itself, it must pay attention to language politeness. In general, using Keigo in business conversations in various social speech contexts emphasizes simplicity and respect. In addition, it also prioritizes wisdom and sympathy.","PeriodicalId":429689,"journal":{"name":"Chi'e: Journal of Japanese Learning and Teaching","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116133572","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These causal factors trigger these problems and how to solve the problem using a literary sociology approach. This study employs Wellek and Warren's sociological theory of literary works and Soekanto's theory of existence, sources, and techniques for solving social problems. This study employs a descriptive-analytic method and data gathering procedures gleaned from a literature review. According to the study's findings, there are 27 social problems in Tetsuya Nakashima's Kokuhaku film, including 15 data on societal norm violations in the form of child delinquency, eight difficulties with family disintegration, three crime problems, and one bureaucracy problem. In this video, two causes generate social problems: psychological factors and cultural aspects. Authoritarian measures solve the majority of the social problems in this film.","PeriodicalId":429689,"journal":{"name":"Chi'e: Journal of Japanese Learning and Teaching","volume":"366 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122318379","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research uses True Experimental Design with Posttest–Only Control Group Design. Data collection techniques using test methods and questionnaires. The data analysis technique used the Mann Whitney–U formula. The calculation results obtained an average value of 80.53 in the experimental group and 70.05 in the control group. The results of the Mann Whitney–U test were obtained by Asymp. Sig. (2–tailed) 0.031 < 0.05, indicating that the average score of the experimental group and control group students had a significant difference. It can be concluded that flashcards on the verified Memory learning web effectively increase students' Japanese vocabulary. Then from the questionnaire data, it can be seen that Memory has interesting multimedia features. However, the effectiveness of Memory has not given optimal effect. This is known from the difference in the score interval on the posttest results, which is too obvious, namely 93. The inequality is related to the independence and intensity of students using Memory which is still rare.","PeriodicalId":429689,"journal":{"name":"Chi'e: Journal of Japanese Learning and Teaching","volume":"198 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128680663","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The honorific speech may be difficult to say due to particular words, comprehension, and context-based in the Japanese business environment. As a work of modern culture, anime can be used to analyze and comprehend keigo in society. This study will analyze keigo based on context analysis and speaker strategies. The method employs a qualitative approach with data collected through content analysis from the first six famous anime works, namely Violet Evergarden. The two theories used in this study are Tokieda Motoki of Language Process Theory explained by Masako Naito and Brown & Levinson modified Politeness Theory by Hori. Based on the results, two theories could be interrelated to explain keigo, in which language process theory showed keigo politeness expression related to the ‘situation’ or ‘context’ or called bamen, and politeness theory employed the speaker's politeness strategy. The results demonstrated how the protagonist in the anime uses three types of keigo: sonkeigo, kenjougo, and teineigo, and how the situational context could affect the speaker's strategies. Situational context and speaker's strategies to use keigo could be utilized as educational tools in Japanese language pedagogy or another context.","PeriodicalId":429689,"journal":{"name":"Chi'e: Journal of Japanese Learning and Teaching","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114570960","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Pengamatan mengenai proses pembelajaran bahasa Jepang dengan menerapkan skill abad 21 ini dikaji menggunakan teori pembelajaran abad 21 dalam pembelajaran online di SMA serta peran guru abad 21. Metode penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan desain penelitian classroom research. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi non participant, wawancara terbuka serta dokumentasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa guru telah menerapkan skill abad 21 dalam pembelajaran bahasa Jepang secara online dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran flipped learning untuk tema transportasi yang dilaksanakan secara synchronous dan asynchronous. Guru telah menerapkan skill komunikasi, berpikir kritis dan kreatif sesuai dengan masing-masing indikator aspek pembelajaran yang terdiri dari aspek pengenalan topik, kosakata dan pola kalimat, menyimak, serta berbicara. Sementara pada keterampilan kolaborasi, pembelajaran bahasa Jepang terlihat belum maksimal dikarenakan tidak adanya kegiatan berkelompok, sehingga guru hanya bisa menerapkan beberapa indikator pada setiap aspek pembelajaran yaitu pada aspek pengenalan topik dan pengenalan kosakata. Permasalahan yang muncul sesuai hasil wawancara yaitu tidak adanya interaksi secara langsung menyebabkan peserta didik cenderung pasif pada pembelajaran secara asynchronous, sehingga dalam proses penerapan skill abad 21 guru tidak dapat memastikan secara langsung capaian pembelajaran.","PeriodicalId":429689,"journal":{"name":"Chi'e: Journal of Japanese Learning and Teaching","volume":"62 ","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134544174","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The relationship between the speakers could be measured through the greetings used. Therefore understanding greeting usage is necessary for maintaining an interpersonal relationship. Nevertheless, there seems to be a difference between greetings thought within Japanese textbooks and greetings in daily usage. Thus, this study will discuss the usage of ‘otsukare’ in Japan, especially amongst Japanese university students. The textbook \"Minna no Nihongo\" will be used to comprehend how aisatsu is taught to Japanese language learners. In this research, Japanese university students will answer a questioner regarding the usage of ‘otsukare’. A questionnaire was designed based on sociolinguistics concepts to discover how Japanese university students use ‘otsukare’, such as when to whom, and in what manner. 40 university students of native Japanese participated and as the result, four points were discovered regarding the usage of ‘otsukare’ First, ‘otsukare’ is used to greet seniors, juniors, and friends. Second, native Japanese speakers prefer to use ‘otsukare’ on departing. Third, nevertheless, some people also use ‘otsukare’ to greet people as an opening greeting. Native Japanese speakers consider the usage of ‘otsukare’ in the morning as opening greetings is not against the rule of greetings. Finally, the gap between Japanese teaching abroad is that ‘otsukare’ is not proper to be used as an opening greeting.","PeriodicalId":429689,"journal":{"name":"Chi'e: Journal of Japanese Learning and Teaching","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127017303","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
