Whilst the microstructure, chemical composition and morphology of the 1D flower-like Fe<inf>3</inf>O<inf>4</inf>@SiO<inf>2</inf>@Co<inf>3</inf>O<inf>4</inf> (FSC) nanochains were investigated in detail. For 1D flower-like FSC nanochains, when the doping amount was about 30%, the minimum reflection loss (RL<inf>min</inf>) values would reach −37.94 dB at 16.13 GHz with the thickness of 1.5 mm, and the effective absorption bandwidth (EAB) was 3.85 GHz (14.15-18 GHz), almost covered the two-thirds of the Ku band. Such excellent microwave absorption (MA) properties can be explained by the higher aspect ratio and the larger specific surface area, which could be used as a hopeful candidate for the new types of microwave absorbing materials.","PeriodicalId":428997,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Workshop on Electromagnetics: Applications and Student Innovation Competition (iWEM)","volume":"41 3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131072213","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Then, the average arrival angles and angle spreads are calculated from the estimated results, and angle of arrival characteristics are evaluated. It is shown that the average angle of arrival gradually approaches to direction of transmitter as the distance between the transmitter and the receiver increases. Also, it is shown that the arrival angle spread in the azimuth plane tends to decrease as the distance between transmitter and receiver increases.","PeriodicalId":428997,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Workshop on Electromagnetics: Applications and Student Innovation Competition (iWEM)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127927167","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We configure numerically a single floor of the office building for calculations and install a wireless LAN access point on the corridor ceiling in it. We present distributions of received signal strength (RSSI) observed on the plane outside the concrete wall without windows. It is confirmed that the signal attenuation increases depending upon the number of concrete walls in the indoor propagation path. Then we divide the observation plane into the four regions based on the number of walls inside. It is shown that adding up the RSSI distributions in each region together makes it possible to predict the overall distribution by assuming that they are lognormal.","PeriodicalId":428997,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Workshop on Electromagnetics: Applications and Student Innovation Competition (iWEM)","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121119933","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This challenges the practical application of passive wireless sensors enabled by antennas or dielectric resonators. In this paper, a machine learning method is applied for feature extraction, aiming to suppress the crack position induced sensitivity variation. The proposed antenna is fed by coplanar waveguide (CPW) and consists of an inverted E-like radiation patch and CPW ground plane. The entire size of the antenna system is $0.006lambdatimes 0.0058lambda$, where $lambda$ is the free-space wavelength at the lowest resonant frequency. To enhance the performance of the miniaturization antenna, several lumped elements are incorporated into the antenna system. By modeling and optimizing in the HFSS, the simulated result demonstrates that the proposed antenna system can realize 68.6:1 bandwidth from 5 MHz to 343 MHz.","PeriodicalId":428997,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Workshop on Electromagnetics: Applications and Student Innovation Competition (iWEM)","volume":"235 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134007457","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Twelve identical printed dipole antennas with microstrip balun feeder are arranged in a dodecahedron cylindrical substrate. By changing the value of the phase difference between successive elements, five kinds of electromagnetic waves of different modes of orbital angular momentum are generated. The simulation results show that the expected results have been achieved with the modalities of OAM 0, 1, 2, 3, 4.
