Besides the material selection, another way to reduce such costs is by optimizing the properties of both the materials and the interfaces which in turn would contribute to enhance the solar cells efficiency. This can be done with numerical simulations. Among non-fullerene materials, boron chromophores are relatively stable and chemically versatile compounds which have been usually used as donors in solar cells. In this work, planar solar cells based on PTB7 and boron compounds are proposed and simulated but by using the latter as acceptors. Specifically, we show the functionality of our proposed devices by analyzing the variation of both the Lowest Unoccupied Molecular Orbital (LUMO) and the influence of the non-intentional doping of the boron compounds with regard to the photovoltaic parameters of the solar cells. The properties of the materials such as the dielectric constant, energy levels, and non-intentional doping are taken from literature. We show that there are optimal values for LUMO and doping concentration to maximize the device efficiency. The causes of this behavior are analyzed using band diagram simulations.","PeriodicalId":427104,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE International Conference on Engineering Veracruz (ICEV)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114214282","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To estimate the foundry temperatures an iterative procedure is carried out, this estimation method becomes complex when it is required to know an intermediate value in the temperature range, as in special foundries. This paper presents statistical models which can be used to know any temperature value included in the analyzed region, without the need to carry out the iterative procedure, the models are polynomial and linear, with positive determination and correlation coefficients, valid for predicting temperatures and significantly lower uncertainties compared to the iterative method.","PeriodicalId":427104,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE International Conference on Engineering Veracruz (ICEV)","volume":"107 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127206215","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The analysis of the energy trend is important because, concerning the Energy Efficiency Indicators and Significant Energy Use, it is possible to propose innovation for processes and organizational structure in the company based on a customized Energy Management System framework. As a result, the trend and its seasonality are determined, which allows determining the relationship between the productivity of the company and energy consumption (e.g. kWh/kg of grapes processed/year). Thus, an energy consumption reduction of up to 17% is proposed, which is equivalent to a Greenhouse Gas Emissions reduction of up to ≈2 ton-CO2/year.","PeriodicalId":427104,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE International Conference on Engineering Veracruz (ICEV)","volume":"71 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127160069","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The sensing method is based on the relation distance/vibration; the closer the object, the faster is the vibration magnitude. The magnitude of this vibration is passed by four micro DC motors into the fingers of the user, indicating the proximity to the object and its localization. The vibration on the index, middle, ring, and baby fingers are used to indicate the position to the left, front, front, and left, respectively. The proximity sensors are located on a 3-D printed phantom model glasses, enabling the capability of sensing the whole environment in a 360° fashion by means of only moving the head in any direction. Stress and deformation simulations of the proposed white-cane were performed in SolidWorks. Also, the overall power consumption of the instrumentation system is only 2.15 W/h, allowing a six hours of continuous use before battery recharge. Also, the whole white-cane weighs 0.54 kg.","PeriodicalId":427104,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE International Conference on Engineering Veracruz (ICEV)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123725057","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Energy fraud is considered one of the main non-technical losses for utilities that translate into economic losses, so being able to detect and minimize fraud becomes a vital necessity for utilities. This paper presents a machine learning model that allows the detection of abnormal behaviors in readings of consumption and/or production of electrical energy that can be classified as energy fraud. The proposed model is based on regression and classification techniques over an edge-fog computing architecture, and the results obtained show that its implementation in smart metering systems is adequate.","PeriodicalId":427104,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE International Conference on Engineering Veracruz (ICEV)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125161687","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
