The evolution of power electronic technology in the power system gives forward direction to smart grid and microgrid. A major challenge in a microgrid is the absence of rotational inertia as distributed energy resources (DER) are interfaced with the grid through power electronic converters. Converters are operated under droop control for power-sharing conventionally. The concept of the virtual synchronous generator(VSG) can be a suitable approach for controlling these converters in low inertia microgrids. VSG implementation with a solar photovoltaic system is called photovoltaic synchronous generator. This paper discusses the trade-off between conventional droop control and VSG control of photovoltaic generation (PV).","PeriodicalId":426923,"journal":{"name":"2019 2nd International Conference on Power and Embedded Drive Control (ICPEDC)","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129016415","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This will increase the electricity billing price time to time. Mainly this high bills are due to fixed unit charge of electricity. This can be controlled by tariff based unit price of electricity system. Here the proposed system is a hospital network connected to grid. The system contains three hospital loads critical loads, intermediate loads and noncritical loads and a renewable energy resource. The bidirectional flow of energy is taking place here. The critical loads have highest price structure due to high power quality, for that active filter is used. Intermediate loads have intermediate price structure, it contains passive filter for power quality improvement. The non-critical loads has lowest price structure. The total price with tariff and particular price structure of loads are done by smart meter with fuzzy logic controller.","PeriodicalId":426923,"journal":{"name":"2019 2nd International Conference on Power and Embedded Drive Control (ICPEDC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129059176","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Vision based hand gesture recognition has the capacity to develop a tool for Human Machine Interaction (HCI). The automated threshold methods were used as pre-processing steps for extraction of feature vector using chain code histogram (CCH). Then, construct the kernel based on histogram of chain code using density measure to obtain discriminative feature descriptor for efficient recognition of hand gesture using Support Vector Machine (SVM). Cluster based threshold techniques involves Otsu thtresholding (OT), Ridler and Calvard thresholding (RCT), and Kittler and Illingworth thresholding (KIT) are used to segment the region of interest for feature extraction. In this paper, CCH based on various segmentation methods were compared to measure the recognition rate by SVM classifier. The proposed RCT-CCH based kernel method increase the recognition rate of hand posture by 90%, compared with cluster based thresholds.","PeriodicalId":426923,"journal":{"name":"2019 2nd International Conference on Power and Embedded Drive Control (ICPEDC)","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130588179","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

When a cut node is identified in the network, the forwarded data can be rerouted through different path, but the “sensing” function cannot be done. This will lead to loss of precious data which is to be gained by the network from the environment. So the cut node should be recovered immediately after the failure of a node. A Backup node based cut recovery algorithm (BNCR) is proposed to recover the cut node. In this paper back up nodes are selected by using Particle Swarm optimization algorithm. The nodes which is having maximum coverage and at one hop distance to all other nodes in the cluster is selected as backup node. Initially this backup node will be in sleep mode. Once the cut is detected, the cluster head checks for the availability of back up nodes. If back up nodes are available, it will be activated and plays the role of the cut node. If back up nodes are not available at one hop distance, mobile nodes will be initiated by the base station to recover the cut nodes. Smart Railway Platform (SRP) is an automation technique to minimize the accidents, which is occur due to more crowd in overhead bridges, elevators and others modes. The main reason for the accidents is poor construction quality, heavy crowd and climatic conditions. Now a day, people are violating the Railway rules by crossing the Railway tracks in a risky manner. It takes less time to cross the tracks, but it is more dangerous to our life. To convert this into a safe manner, we came up with an idea that is sliding platform, which is fixed under the main platform. The sliding platform is working with an IR Sensor, when it detects the train the sliding platform is moving with a motor, which is fixed under the main platform. The system is controlled by Arduino and motor is operated by a Relay Circuit Board. To prevent the failure the total system, it can be controlled by the station master. It is more helpful especially for disabled persons to cross the tracks of their own without the help of others. It may leads to have a new generation platform to our future.","PeriodicalId":426923,"journal":{"name":"2019 2nd International Conference on Power and Embedded Drive Control (ICPEDC)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114744369","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Subsequently, they generate a lot of indoor pollution causing staggering damage to human health. More than 50 million people in India nevertheless use this cooking module whose effects are so detrimental. In a bid to replace this conventional methodology, a Solar Powered Induction based cooking system was proposed. This induction based heating being a noncontact heating technique can easily reach greater temperature within a shorter span of time. The subsequent system is more appealing by catering better efficiency, safety and accurate output control. For this research we have capitalized the solar energy as the fundamental source that powers the induction stove. The primary objective of this paper is to model an induction cooking system that capitalizes solar energy with the quasi resonant topology and control the output by using Pulse Width Modulation.","PeriodicalId":426923,"journal":{"name":"2019 2nd International Conference on Power and Embedded Drive Control (ICPEDC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125498838","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
