The configuration consists of dc-dc boost converter and a transformer is used for conversion of output voltage into three voltage sources. The capacitor selection circuit, full bridge converter is used in circuit. The stages of conversion are three independent voltage sources into dc voltage with four levels then to nine levels AC voltage. The utility voltage is in phase with the current generated in the above mentioned conversion. The performances of PV array are improved by using MPPT controller to track maximum power. The simulated results are validated and tested with developed prototype.","PeriodicalId":426923,"journal":{"name":"2019 2nd International Conference on Power and Embedded Drive Control (ICPEDC)","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129862157","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With the recent government subsidies and reduction in the panel prices, the generation capacity has increased from a few kilowatts to hundreds of Mega-Watts. This rapid escalation in the penetration level on the grid has increased the utility companies’ concerns about its impact on the power quality of the system.In the current scenario, the penetration levels of the Photovoltaic generating in INDIA is very low to create any kind of significant power quality issues on the grid, however, power quality issues such as current harmonics and power factor have been identified in some cases. But with the increase in the penetration levels of PV generator on the grid, it may start affecting the overall power quality of the system. Power system stability and security issues, voltage variation (i.e. sag & swell), reverse power flow, power factor, and harmonics are the major power quality issues that may arise due to increased PV penetration. This paper gives an overall review of different power quality issues that may arise due to the increased penetration level of a PV generator on the grid.","PeriodicalId":426923,"journal":{"name":"2019 2nd International Conference on Power and Embedded Drive Control (ICPEDC)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132947172","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Renewable energy systems such as solar and wind generates good amount of electric power with the availability of natural inputs such as solar irradiation and wind speed but the problem is choosing of their rating and quantity. Hence optimization is the process carried out for getting proper size of the various components and their quantity. In this paper optimization studies for a village load profile is carried out by using HOMER software and also makes a comparison on variation of optimization results for a fixed load profile with the change of locations in India. Drastic change in the climate and its adverse effect has forced the researchers to explore new forms of energy. Abundant availability of wind and solar energy on globe became one of the alternative source of energy. Harnessing this form of energy as was convenient hence we started developing techniques to exploit the same. This article describes the wind and solar based energy charging system (WSCS) to enable charging the battery bank of electric vehicles (EVs). The charging mechanism comprises of both a wind generator and the solar panel (PV) modules. The WSCS reduces to a great extent the use of fossil fuels to produce electricity; hence reducing COX and NOX emission. As electric vehicle have come up and will be the next generation transportation system hence the emission will also get reduced. To encourage the use of electric vehicles the range of the vehicle has to be more. In order to have greater range there are two ways. One the capacity of the battery can be increased or the charging duration and the charging stations have to increase in number. This paper deals with the development of mechanism to efficiently charge the vehicle with minimizing the emission. The prototype developed in a combination of both solar and wind system i.e. a hybrid system.","PeriodicalId":426923,"journal":{"name":"2019 2nd International Conference on Power and Embedded Drive Control (ICPEDC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130713145","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

When describing the EMS in detail, it is mandatory to describe the significance of the battery in an EV. The battery plays an important role in electric vehicles to deliver the required power to the electric motor for the transit. For safe and reliable operation of batteries on electric vehicles, the online monitoring and states estimation of the batteries is essential. This can be achieved by a Battery Management System (BMS).Beside BMS, there should be a control over the optimal power flow between battery, converters and other parts of a vehicle. This control is called Energy Management System (EMS).Thus overall vehicle performance strongly depends on this EMS. Thus the design of EMS gains importance to decrease the energy consumption or improvement in system efficiency, to increase the battery life period and to achieve clean and efficient transport system by ensuring long product life and safe drive experience.","PeriodicalId":426923,"journal":{"name":"2019 2nd International Conference on Power and Embedded Drive Control (ICPEDC)","volume":"48 2","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133008155","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Generally, a meshed HVDC transmission grid has major problems such as protection against dc faults and to manage the power flows between the lines. As Current Flow Controllers (CFCs) will be required to balance line currents between nodes in meshed-HVDC grids. Hybrid circuit breaker with forced commutation can interrupt the fault current and thus protect grids of HVDC from dc faults but the fault clearing time for the available dc breakers are not fast enough and reliable to provide adequate protection for dc faults on multi-terminal networks. In order to overcome these problems CFCs is interline with hybrid dc circuit breaker. So, CFC will be interline with Pro-active Hybrid DC-Circuit Breaker (PHCB) by suffling the switches orientation within the Load Commutation Switch (LCS). The CFC design and its control performance will be verified by MATLAB Simulink. The two cases are studied which include, an integrated system consisting of CFC with Circuit Breakers (CBs) and the separate design that includes CFC and CB separately that are compared and thus power losses can be reduced.","PeriodicalId":426923,"journal":{"name":"2019 2nd International Conference on Power and Embedded Drive Control (ICPEDC)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124771161","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Their nomenclature is based on the pulse number (n) they provide at the dc output which is essentially the number of dc voltage notches corresponding to one time period of the input ac source. From the topological perspective, they are referred to as single-phase half-wave rectifier and three-phase half-wave rectifier respectively and are the building blocks of rectifier topologies with higher pulse number. Rectifiers with pulse number greater than or equal to three (n$geq$3) are classified as multipulse rectifiers that comprise series or parallel cascade of these topologies. Usually, three-phase rectifier topologies alone are classified as unidirectional multipulse ac-dc converters among improved power quality ac-dc converters, however, it is noteworthy that the three-phase half-wave rectifier is a parallel cascade of three single-phase half-wave rectifiers. Comprehension and estimation of the power quality indices of these two basic topologies including harmonoic content of the line currents, least order harmonic, power factor, distortion factor, displacement factor, and THD on the ac side and ripple factor, crest factor, and form factor on the dc side provide useful insights into the multipulse rectifiers. In this paper, the power quality assessment of the two basic topologies using MATLAB software and experimental investigation based data are presented.","PeriodicalId":426923,"journal":{"name":"2019 2nd International Conference on Power and Embedded Drive Control (ICPEDC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129888968","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Our work deals with the efficient analysis of Electrocardiogram (ECG) signals imported from MIT-BIH database into MATLAB platform, generation of the imported ECG signal, pre-processing the generated signal to remove the noises mainly the baseline wandering and power line interference from which features are extracted. For adequate study of the ECG signal Daubechies and Haar wavelet techniques are compared. Proper decomposition of the signal is achieved using Db4 and Db5 Daubechies wavelets as their scaling functions are analogous to ECG signal. PAN TOMPKINSONS algorithm is considered in our study as it serves best for precise identification of most prominent features namely QRS complexes, RR interval’s as they constitute the major data required for clinical analysis and research. After feature extraction ECG signals are trained using machine learning techniques for detecting the presence of Arrhythmia using different classifiers adopting Weka software.","PeriodicalId":426923,"journal":{"name":"2019 2nd International Conference on Power and Embedded Drive Control (ICPEDC)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125497951","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
