The learning process becomes less healthy when the level of cheating behavior is high. In Indonesia, the behavior is displayed by people in all level of educations, from elementary to the highest educational institutions. Many people consider it reasonable, even though they know that cheating is a kind of corruption. Cheating must be minimized by knowing and anticipating the causes, including selfregulated learning, goal orientation, and demographic variables. Taking the causes of cheating into consideration, this study is designated to determine the effect of self-regulated learning (the cognitive strategy use and self-regulation), goal orientation (mastery-approach, mastery-avoidance, and performance-approach goal orientation), and demographic variables (gender and educational stage) on cheating behavior. The samples were drawn from 220 students of Jakarta 41 States Vocational High School consisting of 93 male and 127 female students in which the 113 of them were from 10th grade the rest were from the 11th grade. The samples were drawn using accidental sampling technique. The hypothesis is tested using multiple regression analysis and SPSS v.21.0 software. The results showed significant influence of all variables on cheating behavior. The proportion of variance of the model is 10.2%. Meanwhile, the rest is influenced by other factors exclusive of this study. In addition, correlation coefficient between cheating behavior each variable of the study showed self-regulated learning variable namely self-regulation plays a significant role on cheating behavior. Meanwhile, variable of selfregulated learning (cognitive strategy use), goal orientation (mastery, performance-orientation, performance-avoidance goal orientation) and demographic variables (gender and educational stage) are not significantly corelated with cheating behavior.","PeriodicalId":426548,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2nd International Conference on Islam, Science and Technology (ICONIST 2019)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-02-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126146954","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Employing qualitative methods, the researchers applied multiple case studies technique. The information gathered originated from separate case study classrooms, purposefully chosen madrasah Aliyahs/ Islamic-based high school from government, private, challenging and high-performing schools. It has been disclosed that madrasahs experience countless difficulties, including leadership, curriculum development, classroom equipment, financing and teacher efficiency. In the west and center of Indonesia, madrasahs mainly hampered by the poor infrastructure, learning facilities and lack of financial support, while in the east part beside the financial issues, teachers’ performance become huge concerns.The madrasah managers, senior institutional officials, have a critical part to perform in solving these issues, in particular by developing teaching and learning procedures and improving the value of education and the enhancement of schooling. The study found that a kinship leadership is strongly indicated to the principal leadership behaviour. A culture embedded, leadership education, and experience gained by the leaders provide a deep insight on the way they lead an organisation. Although some madrasah adapted professional system like in the case of some high performing schools, the kinship and partnership are strongly occupied by the leaders in order to develop their communication and interaction among the members","PeriodicalId":426548,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2nd International Conference on Islam, Science and Technology (ICONIST 2019)","volume":"294 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121635272","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is expected that Islamic education can prevent these behaviour. This study was conducted to analyze the relationship between Islamic Education and democratic attitudes and religious tolerance. Out of 900 high school students in West Java, Indonesia, 172 students were taken as research samples. This study uses a quantitative approach with correlational design in order to find out the relationship of a variable with other variables. This method reveals factual data based on information found. The results of this study indicate that between the understanding of Islamic Education (X) on Religious Tolerance (Y2) a significance value of 0.004 <0.05 which means there is a significant correlation, and also for democratic attitudes (Y1) towards Religious Tolerance (Y2) significance value amounting to 0,000 <0,05 which means there is a significant correlation. Hence, it can be concluded that Islamic religious education can improve democratic attitudes and religious tolerance among high school students.","PeriodicalId":426548,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2nd International Conference on Islam, Science and Technology (ICONIST 2019)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133506505","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The temple is not only a place of worship for Tridharma adherents, but also frequently visited by Muslims who perform rituals in which they plead for something to Sam Poo Kong manifested in the form of a statue in the temple. This paper explains the practices and traditions carried out by some Muslims in Java, especially in Sam Poo Kong Temple in Semarang in Central Java, which aim to solve the personal problems they face each day. Some Javanese Muslims strongly believe that the Sam Poo Kong god provide help to anyone who needs it. The aid of Sam Poo Kong is sought through a ceremony. Herein lies the uniqueness of Indonesia as a pluralistic, majority-Muslim country where people respect each other's differences to maintain social harmony.","PeriodicalId":426548,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2nd International Conference on Islam, Science and Technology (ICONIST 2019)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128135071","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this context, ideological critique is defined as the functional aspect of ideology like that of the socio-political, cultural, and economic system, surrounding the founder of a philosophical thought, which in turn influence the thought itself. Some of Al-Fârabî's ideas are closely related to the ideological critique that he developed, such as the initiation for the project of translating Greek classical texts in Islamic world, the solution for the harmony between philosophy and religion, his tendency towards logic established by Aristotle, and the ideas of the Ultimate State.","PeriodicalId":426548,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2nd International Conference on Islam, Science and Technology (ICONIST 2019)","volume":"69 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115061258","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
