The computation is carried out by discretizing a model of circular waveguide resonator which has the radius of 10.12mm and the length of 60mm using FDTD notation and numerically computed to determine its resonant frequency in transverse electric (TE) mode. Some scenarios are applied for loading the waveguide by dielectric materials to analyze its resonant frequency to be compared with the hollow circular waveguide. From the results, it is shown that the TE mode resonant frequency for loaded circular waveguide is lower than of hollow circular waveguide which satisfies the numerical prediction. Meanwhile, from the scenario of circular waveguide partially loaded with dielectric material which is coated from outer region in a certain depth, it is found that the resonant frequency varies depending on the depth of dielectric material or on the volume proportion of dielectric material in the waveguide. The result shows when the proportion of dielectric material is 36% the lower resonant frequency is similar with the waveguide fully loaded with dielectric material.","PeriodicalId":426454,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Informatics (ICEEI)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130855217","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nowadays, organizations are flooded with various kinds of unstructured data such as e-mail, images, reports, maps, charts, publications. An effective and efficient business model of these data could help in decision making. Currently, there is no study done on the business intelligence model for managing unstructured data that can fulfil the organization needs. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to improve the organization's business intelligence process through the exploitation of unstructured data that is owned by the organization. In this study, unstructured data are classified, enriched and complemented with diversity of data through the process of creating metadata for each unstructured data. Four main processes are proposed to transform unstructured data to structured data which are extraction, classification, storage and mapping of data classes. Each process and its activities are combined to produce an effective and efficient business intelligence model for unstructured data management. This model helps in generating new data and information that is more comprehensive and collective to help business intelligence through advanced analysis, decision-making process and planning new research areas. Output from this study is to make unstructured data as renewable assets that is easily accessible and used as a reference and foundation in business intelligence and decision making process.","PeriodicalId":426454,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Informatics (ICEEI)","volume":"151 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133317705","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The phase shifting is achieved by using loaded-line phase shifter technique implemented by placing capacitor chips at the edge between 50Ω and 70.71Ω transmission lines. The feeding network consists of microstrip transmission lines and matching impedance lines designed using a quarter wavelength transformer method and deployed on an FR4 Epoxy dielectric substrate with relative permittivity of 4.3, thickness of 1.6mm and dimension of 50mm × 300mm. The feeding network is configured at 4 different scenarios with various capacitance values. The first scenario is no capacitor chips added into the microstrip lines; while at the second and third scenarios, 1pF and 10pF capacitor chips are put on each line of output port, respectively; and at the forth scenario, capacitor chips with the consecutively value of 10pF, 3pF, 1pF, 1pF, 1pF, 1pF, 3pF, 10pF are placed for each microstrip line. From the result, it shows that the proposed capacitor-based phase shifter for 8 elements antenna feeding network is suitable for 2.4GHz operating frequency with the measured phase shifting up to 40° for capacitance value of 1pF.","PeriodicalId":426454,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Informatics (ICEEI)","volume":"AES-10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126521280","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Jawi characters tracing activities using digital technology with a real-time feedback is one of the new technologies in teaching and learning Jawi writing in which children perform tracing activities on a tablet using a stylus pen as an input of Jawi characters tracing. The tracing engine is being developed to provide a real-time feedback on the accuracy of tracing activities performed by users. The accuracy of tracing activities feedback is evaluated using a comparative analysis by looking at the agreed score between the tracing engine real-time feedback and feedback furnished by the experts. Krippendorff Alfa Coefficient of Reliability Index (Krippendorff α) agreement score is used to measure the agreement between tracing engine real-time and experts feedbacks. The outcome of Krippendorff α agreement score found that the accuracy of the feedback trace activity generated by tracing engine is almost the same as the feedback provided by experts.","PeriodicalId":426454,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Informatics (ICEEI)","volume":"98 2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133873853","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These features may encompass of noise and not relatively to protein function. Therefore, we need to select the appropriate features to improve the efficiency and performance of the classifier. Feature selection is an important step in any classification tasks. Filter methods are important in order to obtain only the relevant features to the class and to avoid redundancy. While wrapper methods are applied to get optimized features and better classification accuracy. This paper proposed a feature selection strategy for hierarchical classification of G-Protein-Coupled Receptors (GPCR) based on hybridization of correlation feature selection (CFS) filter and genetic algorithm (GA) wrapper methods. The optimum features were then classified using K-nearest neighbor algorithm. These methods are capable to reduce the features and achieved comparable classification accuracy at every hierarchy level. The results also shown that the integration between CFS and GA is capable of searching the optimum features for hierarchical protein classification.","PeriodicalId":426454,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Informatics (ICEEI)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130975896","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the popular method PD detection is Ultra-High-Frequency method (UHF-method). UHF antenna/sensors are the most important part of UHF method PD measurement. The sensor should be simple, small size, wideband, and small return loss. Many types of UHF antenna have been developed in bandwidth 300 MHz-3 GHz for detecting electromagnetic wave with ultra high frequency generated by partial discharge. Dipole antenna is one type of broadband antenna. This paper deals with design of dipole antenna as UHF sensor. An investigation on the effect of length and width of the sensor on the characteristics are carried out. Adding a stub as an attempt to achieve wider bandwidth resulting T antenna is also discussed. A three-dimension finite difference time domain (FDTD) simulation is applied to the antenna model and the results are confirmed by measurements with a network analyzer. The simulation and measurement results give a good agreement. Measurement of PD in GIS model tank is also examined using the developed dipole and T antenna sensors.","PeriodicalId":426454,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Informatics (ICEEI)","volume":"172 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125785992","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
