Vida","doi":"10.18351/2179-7137/ged.2015n2p70-104","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.18351/2179-7137/ged.2015n2p70-104","url":null,"abstract":"This article enquires into the conditions of possibility of women’s emancipation in the era of neoliberal globalization or, to borrow Nancy Fraser’s words, in a post-socialist and post-Westphalian context, where both social egalitarianism (justice as redistribution) and identity politics (justice as recognition) are in crisis. In order to do this, I will have to address, first, the “who” of emancipation, the political subject incarnating it. This is done from two different but interconnected perspectives: the existentialist one, usually associated with the particularistic or relativistic viewpoint of some strands of feminist thought, and Ernesto Laclau’s Hegelianism, which put to the forefront the Gramscian notion of hegemony and its emancipatory implications. They were among the first scholars to speak up in a man’s world. The study will try to shed some light on how political thought and gender were intertwined during the last century. We will thus try to understand whether a feminine language exists, which is able to pierce through a politics that has always been based on hierarchy and domination, as feminists claimed. After a brief analysis of the similarities and the differences between the conditions of oppression experienced by people with disabilities and women, in this paper I first analyse some of the reasons that may be present behind the silence of Feminism on disability, then I show the importance of FDS for the feminist inquiry. {"title":"GIUSTIZIA DI GENERE","authors":"Anca Gheaus","doi":"10.18351/2179-7137/ged.2015n2p105-133","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.18351/2179-7137/ged.2015n2p105-133","url":null,"abstract":"I propose, defend and illustrate a principle of gender justice meant to capture the nature of a variety of injustices based on gender: A society is gender just only if the costs of a gender-neutral lifestyle are, all other things being equal, lower than, or at most equal to, the costs of gendered lifestyles. \u0000I defend the principle by appeal to the values at the core of liberal egalitarian justice: equality of access and the good of individual choice. I illustrate my case through a discussion of the injustice of a gendered division of labor. Some feminists doubt that liberal egalitarianism has the theoretical resources to recognize the unjust nature of the gendered division of labor. I argue that it does. \u0000If the principle advanced here is correct, then gender injustice is pervasive. At the same, it does not affect only women but also men. A discussao realizada se configura como pesquisa qualitativa, tendo como tecnica, pesquisa bibliografica baseada em livros, revistas, artigos cientificos etc. Todo o exposto explicita que no que se refere a igualdade de genero ha muito que ser avancado, pois, a discriminacao e o preconceito so serao extintos quando a sociedade deixar para tras essa “diferenciacao” historica entre os individuos. Partindo da experiencia dos grupos reflexivos e de responsabilizacao para homens autores de violencia contra mulheres desenvolvidos na ONG Coletivo Feminista Sexualidade e Saude, em Sao Paulo (SP), buscamos apresentar o contexto no qual se constroem tais intervencoes. Entende-se que, corroborando para a diminuicao da violencia contra as mulheres, os grupos reflexivos tambem devem funcionar como mecanismo para a reflexao e construcao de outras masculinidades. Ademais, procuramos evidenciar as relacoes de poder na qual o trabalho com homens e uma abordagem relacional menos pautada na dualidade vitima/algoz encontram resistencia para se concretizar.
