However, the typical size of virtual spaces is now counted in millions, if not billions, of nodes and edges, most existing algorithms are incapable to analyze such large scale dense networks. In this paper, a fast parallel modularity optimization algorithm that performs the analogous greedy optimization as CNM and FUC is used to conduct community discovering. By using the parallel manner and sophisticated data structures, its running time is essentially fast. In the experimental work, we evaluate our method using real datasets and compare our approach with several previous methods; the results show that our method is more effective in find potential online communities.","PeriodicalId":425023,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE International Conference of IEEE Region 10 (TENCON 2013)","volume":"95 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133143437","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

State-of-the-art results have been obtained using this approach in various image processing applications. In this paper, we have adopted the sparse framework for the task of detection of various facial regions such as eyes, lips, nose etc. We propose a scheme for modelling these regions by signatures using dictionary learning in the sparse framework. The proposed algorithm has been tested on FEI face database. Experimental results show that the proposed scheme is robust and detects different regions with very high accuracy. Converters are paralleled to expand converter's capacity. Due to the wind power fluctuation, IGBT's power handling ability together with its drive power is fluctuating largely and rapidly, which will cause a large temperature variation, affecting the reliability and lifetime of power semiconductors. For multi-MW wind power converter, its reliability is the key issue for the whole wind power generation system. In this paper, the thermal smooth control for multi-MW parallel wind power converter is proposed to improve the converter's reliability. In the proposed thermal smooth control, extra reactive power is introduced to smooth the thermal stresses of IGBTs. Therefore, a balanced thermal can improve IGBT's reliability, which can improve the wind power converter's reliability. Finally, MATLAB/PLECS simulation is carried out to validate the proposed thermal control. The simulation results indicate the feasibility and advantage of the proposed thermal smooth control.","PeriodicalId":425023,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE International Conference of IEEE Region 10 (TENCON 2013)","volume":"1996 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115553880","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This method is able to determine the common excitation amplitudes and the various sets of excitation phases at the same time. Several examples are provided to support the theory and to show the potential abilities and features of the proposed method. The sample value messages which meet with IEC61850-9-2LE protocols are received and decoded by the FPGA, at the same time a synchronization method is used to reduce the effects of network transmit delays on the performances of controlled interruption short circuit currents. Then the parameters of short circuit currents are estimated based on the least mean squares(LMS) algorithm and the receive sample values. The dichotomy algorithm is used to obtain the zero crossing of the short circuit currents as targets for synchronizing the tripping command to the circuit breaker so as to achieve a pre-determined optimum arcing times. Finally, a setup is made to verify the performance of the intelligent control unit and the algorithms, and the testing results show that the intelligent control unit for the high voltage circuit breaker is able to quickly realize controlled interruption the short circuit currents, and the performance meet with IEC62271-302 requirements to control accuracy in controlled switching, and the prediction errors of the short circuit current zeros are less than ± 1ms.","PeriodicalId":425023,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE International Conference of IEEE Region 10 (TENCON 2013)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125011053","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper presents an integrated energy exchange scheduling strategy between a multi-microgrid system and the main grid for the Microgrid Centrol Controller (MGCC). The MGCC, also called as the aggregator, aims at minimizing the total electricity cost of the multi-microgrid system while meeting the market obligation. The aggregated scheduling problem is formulated as a linear programming constrained by physical requirements of microgrids. From this linear programming, several dual variables, which are representative of the marginal cost of proper constraints, are manipulated to form the adjusted price which is the modification of original electricity price. With this pricing strategy, a decentralized optimal scheduling strategy is proposed for the MGCC. The simulation results show that such a scheduling strategy can meet the market obligation and satisfy the needs of the consumer load while achieving the lowest possible cost.","PeriodicalId":425023,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE International Conference of IEEE Region 10 (TENCON 2013)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122074107","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main idea of the new approach is to utilize the spatial diversity and noncircularity dissimilarity between the desired signal and interferences plus noise simultaneously. For this purpose, the weight vector is designed by maximizing the non-circularity rate of desired signal with imposing derivative constraints on the interference directions. The proposed derivative constrained NORM algorithm could broaden the width of pattern null, therefore it provides robustness in the presence of noncircular interferences. Besides that, the new method could also be adjusted to apply in rapidly moving jammer environments, without the requirement of desired signal-free sample data.
