This paper studies this problem for the first time and presents a fast connected-component labeling algorithm for binary hexagonal images. We analyze the connectivity of two different type foreground pixels with their processed pixels when an image is processed in the raster scan order, and give corresponding processing masks. For labeling binary hexagonal images, although we can process pixels one by one in the first scan as in most of labeling algorithms, we propose an efficient algorithm by processing pixels two by two. We show that by our proposed algorithm, for labeling a binary hexagonal image, the average number of times for checking the neighbor pixels for processing a foreground pixel will decrease, thus it leads to a more efficiently processing. Experimental results demonstrated that our proposed method is more efficient than the algorithm extended straightly from the fastest labeling algorithm for rectangle binary images.","PeriodicalId":425023,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE International Conference of IEEE Region 10 (TENCON 2013)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122427789","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As the randomness and uncertainty, it is of great challenge to make suitable power generation plans to ensure the safety and stability of current grid. The objective of the presented paper is to propose a new approach to smooth the output of wind power. We flat the fluctuation of wind, and solve the optimal problem through an improved PSO algorithm. Finally, the result shows the optimal generation plan with the pumped storage stations. Through the data we worked out, it can be easily found that the cost of thermal unit significantly was reduced with pumped storage station and the frequency of start and stop was also reduced. The result shows the method in this thesis is reasonable.","PeriodicalId":425023,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE International Conference of IEEE Region 10 (TENCON 2013)","volume":"144 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116403461","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

According to the application environment, the background and target radiation are model is established, for which is considering the far distance and high speed both. The problem of infrared imaging wave bands selection is discussed in simulation. The calculate results shows that, the mid-wave band is more effective for high temperature objects. Adversely, the long-wave band is the best choice for low temperature ones. In addition, the pixel dispersion and aerodynamic heating factors have great effects on detection range estimate for near space environment application. Without a hydraulic torque converter, the DCT achieves a smooth start only by the slipping of clutches and the DCT slipping control in the starting process becomes a key point. The torque transfer characteristics of the wet clutch is very complex and affected by many factors. An intelligent starting control strategy of DCT is introduced in this paper. The method of determining the starting gear is illustrated and it inducts the control stragety with two forward gears involved in the starting process. The control flow of the starting process is used to illustrate the DCT operation. Some vehicle tests are carried out to verify the strategy effectiveness. The result shows that the stragety has good robustness and adaptability, and can also response to various changes in parameters quickly, which can increase the clutch life and ensure the ride comfort.","PeriodicalId":425023,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE International Conference of IEEE Region 10 (TENCON 2013)","volume":"86 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126245506","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
