Both research and practice indicate that traditional universal DBMS architecture hardly satisfies new trends in data processing in such environment. NoSQL databases enable better application development productivity through a more flexible data model, greater ability to scale dynamically to support more users and data, an ability to develop highly responsive applications and more complex processing of data.\u0000 On the other hand, NoSQL databases support solving data problems only partially. We will describe their basic features like horizontal scalability and concurrency model, which offer mostly weaker tools for querying and transactions processing than relational SQL-like database systems do. We will also present some data models and querying capabilities of NoSQL databases in more detail as well as an overview of some their representatives.\u0000 The NoSQL system properties mentioned imply that most of them are unsuitable, e.g., for the DW and BI querying or, in general, for the enterprise data processing. Consequently, new database architectures and various hybrid solutions are developed. We will point out on these actual problems and present some of the current approaches in detail.","PeriodicalId":424918,"journal":{"name":"International Conference on Information Integration and Web-based Applications & Services","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127549778","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As a universal identification mechanism, WebID enables users to authenticate through client certificates instead of username/password pairs. For creating such WebID certificates, there are different ways available. Each is characterized by several aspects that become important depending on a user's individual conditions and trust needs. Users must carefully consider these aspects on their own to find the most appropriate way for them. There is a risk that inexperienced users make wrong considerations, which affect their security and privacy. In this work, we propose an approach towards a context-aware WebID certificate creation taking individual conditions and trust needs into account. As a proof of concept, we apply the SWAC framework that facilitates JavaScript-based generation of WebID certificates on both client and server. We evaluate our approach and available methods including HTML5 keygen and native implementations using different devices and Web browsers.","PeriodicalId":424918,"journal":{"name":"International Conference on Information Integration and Web-based Applications & Services","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125396618","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Our study focuses on the traffic generated on the SPEC website by many different Web robots, including, among the others, the robots employed by some popular search engines. This extensive investigation shows that the behavior and crawling patterns of the robots vary significantly in terms of requests, resources and clients involved in their crawling activities. Some robots tend to concentrate their requests in short periods of time and follow some sorts of deterministic patterns characterized by multiple peaks. The requests of other robots exhibit a time dependent behavior and repeated patterns with some periodicity. We represent the traffic as a time series modelled in the frequency domain. The identified models, consisting of trigonometric polynomials and Auto Regressive Moving Average components, accurately summarize the behavior of the overall traffic as well as the traffic of individual robots. These models can be easily used as a basis for forecasting.","PeriodicalId":424918,"journal":{"name":"International Conference on Information Integration and Web-based Applications & Services","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125412755","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper explores different aspects of information integration using as an example a wiki that contains a set of documents to which we want to add suitable further pictures. We take into account a number of important aspects such as: (i) Pictures outside the domain of the wiki are ignored. (ii) Pictures that already occur in the wiki or very similar to existing ones are also ignored. (iii) Each new picture has to be associated with a suitable document in the wiki subject to three restraints: if a suitable document does not exist, a new one is created; if the document size due to pictures gets too large some additional actions are necessary; an image may be associated with more than one document. Each of the above points offer many challenges which are discussed.","PeriodicalId":424918,"journal":{"name":"International Conference on Information Integration and Web-based Applications & Services","volume":"103 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126619123","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

That is, however, almost impossible in the fast evolving area of pharmaceutical industry. Although many data sources about drugs are published on the Web, structured or unstructured, it is very time consuming to search through them. In this paper we identify these data sources according to information needs of physicians. We show that they can be relatively easily integrated using the Linked Data principles and, in case of unstructured data, NLP methods. An application on the top of the integrated data sets is presented as a possible tool for clinical decision support.","PeriodicalId":424918,"journal":{"name":"International Conference on Information Integration and Web-based Applications & Services","volume":"57 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127452878","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper shows how ontologies for time series from different areas can be mapped together and how additional meta-information can be generated by using reasoning methods. For ontology mapping we use the bridging concept and present a general time series ontology, which allows the integration of new domain ontologies. In reasoning a popular open source reasoner is used to show generation of new time series meta-information. Additionally, we discuss our results together with a description of the validation for all previously introduced methods.","PeriodicalId":424918,"journal":{"name":"International Conference on Information Integration and Web-based Applications & Services","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126476689","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Despite the significant research efforts invested in the efficient processing techniques of XML documents we still need the operators of XML algebra specifically optimized for online processing of XML data. Online processing means that operators act on theoretically infinite sequences of XML documents and they never \"see\" an entire set of data. Most of XML algebras proposed so far are too resource expensive for online processing of XML documents. This paper proposes a new system of XML operators based on a formal model of extended tree grammars. We define a minimal set of basic operators and we show how the other operators can be derived from the basic ones. Our system of operators allows for processing of XML documents to any possible depth. The system eliminates the limitations of the previous approaches to online processing XML documents by allowing each operator be computed in the incremental and/or decremental way. The paper compares the functionality of the new system of operators with a number of XML algebras defined earlier.","PeriodicalId":424918,"journal":{"name":"International Conference on Information Integration and Web-based Applications & Services","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123118078","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
