This research proposes a novel comprehensive semantic knowledge-based framework that helps to transform unstructured data to be easily exploited by data scientists. The resultant sematic knowledgebase is reasoned to infer new facts and classify events that might be of importance to end users. The target use case for the framework implementation was the financial domain, which represents an important class of dynamic applications that require the modelling of non-binary relations. Such complex relations are becoming increasingly common in the era of linked open data. This research in modelling and reasoning upon such relations is a further contribution of the proposed semantic framework, where non-binary relations are semantically modelled by adapting the semantic reasoning axioms to fit the intermediate resources in the N-ary relations requirements.","PeriodicalId":42414,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Decision Support System Technology","volume":"5 1","pages":"85-109"},"PeriodicalIF":1.1,"publicationDate":"2021-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82771948","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Selecting a suitable PPM is one of the critical issues to achieve the success of a construction project. The selection of PPM is a typical multi-criteria decision-making problem under uncertainty. Moreover, interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy set (IVIFS) is a useful tool for depicting uncertainty of the multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) problems. In this paper, the authors consider the PPM selection under IVIFS circumstance. Firstly, they introduce the concept of Spearman rank correlation coefficient (SRCC) between two IVIFSs and then calculate the SRCC between the ideal alternative and each alternative. The ideal option of PPM is determined according to the computed value of SRCC. Overall, the proposed method can avoid the calculation of the criteria weights, and the selection process is simple and straightforward. Finally, a real-world infrastructure project PPM selection has been illustrated the applicability and effectiveness of this methodology.","PeriodicalId":42414,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Decision Support System Technology","volume":"82 1","pages":"16-44"},"PeriodicalIF":1.1,"publicationDate":"2021-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83393534","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Two nonlinear integer pallet scheduling models under deterministic and non-deterministic environment are formulated in terms of the pallet demand variable. To solve the pallet programming model, the hybrid genetic algorithm (HGA) integrating local search strategy is designed to derive the optimal pallet scheduling solution. Besides, the fixed sample size sampling strategy is employed to deal with the uncertain demand during the non-deterministic programming model, realized by the Monte Carlo simulation. The two models can assist decision makers arrange a scientific pallet scheduling solution under deterministic and non-deterministic atmosphere. Finally, the numerical case is implemented to testify the effectiveness of the two models and efficiency of the hybrid algorithms.","PeriodicalId":42414,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Decision Support System Technology","volume":"15 1","pages":"1-15"},"PeriodicalIF":1.1,"publicationDate":"2021-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87124287","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Traffic forecasting has always been a key issue in the smart transportation system. Aiming at the problem that a fixed model cannot adapt to multiple environments in traffic flow prediction and the problem of model updating for data flow, a traffic flow prediction method is proposed based on variable structure dynamic Bayesian network. Based on the complex event processing and event context, this method divides historical data through context clustering and supports cluster update through online clustering of event streams. For different clustered data, a search-scoring method is used to learn the corresponding Bayesian network structure, and a Bayesian network is approximated based on a Gaussian mixture model. When forecasting online, a suitable model or combination of models is selected according to the current context for prediction.","PeriodicalId":42414,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Decision Support System Technology","volume":"13 1","pages":"45-61"},"PeriodicalIF":1.1,"publicationDate":"2021-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79162522","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nevertheless, in this creative, prolific process, there can be artifacts derived from rational practices that are capable to provide insightful recommendations. In this work, the authors claim that an event log, a file that registers the execution of the relevant business processes, can be the source of such an artifact. They describe the fundamental elements of two problem formulations, namely the set of alternatives; the set of potential actions that the decision-maker may undertake; the set of points of view (dimensions) from which the potential actions are observed, analyzed, evaluated, compared, etc.; and the problem statement (what is expected to be done with the alternatives) for two cases.","PeriodicalId":42414,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Decision Support System Technology","volume":"51 1","pages":"85-102"},"PeriodicalIF":1.1,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78469922","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Compared approaches were landfilling with energy recovery from landfill gas, source segregation of organics for anaerobic digestion and use of digestate as fertilizer, and finally, post-sorting of organics and landfilling of residual bio-solids. Seven different impact categories were assessed in the CLCA. In addition, recovery of electricity and macro nutrients were included as additional impact categories. The use of VIP analysis facilitates the interpretation of results aggregating them under different conditions. Furthermore, approaches for ranking of considered impact categories could be carried out both for a local or a global perspective. This, and the possibility of easily including additional context derived evaluation parameters, clearly highlights the combination of CLCA and VIP analysis for decision support.","PeriodicalId":42414,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Decision Support System Technology","volume":"1 1","pages":"1-17"},"PeriodicalIF":1.1,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89731002","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper proposes a multicriteria decision model to solve a site selection problem for a pressure reducing station. A natural gas distribution company was selected to test the model and the preference modeling was conducted through the flexible interactive tradeoff (FITradeoff) approach, according to the preferences of the decision maker (DM). FITradeoff's decision support system was used to assess the alternatives of the model, through the inference of the criteria scale constants. The results proved the robustness of the model and the DM evidenced consistency in its preferences. Also, the FITradeoff method demonstrated to be intuitive to apply, since a smaller effort is required from the DM and this is because the procedure does not require complete information in the scale constants elicitation process.","PeriodicalId":42414,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Decision Support System Technology","volume":"8 1","pages":"67-84"},"PeriodicalIF":1.1,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"72841495","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nowadays, traffic monitoring and information provision systems heavily rely on floating car data usually of special vehicles (e.g., trucks, taxi), and the question that arises is whether such sources can provide reliable data for the whole traffic in a complex urban environment. The current paper, through Thessaloniki's (GR) case study, seeks to evaluate the reliability of taxi data compared to the overall traffic. The analysis reveals that for the examined critical urban road paths, there is a strong relation among floating taxi data with the overall traffic that is additionally influenced by other significant factors (e.g., number of lanes, day, time period). Furthermore, a modelling approach with a generalized linear model (gamma with log link) seems appropriate when dealing with skewed and heteroscedastic traffic data.","PeriodicalId":42414,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Decision Support System Technology","volume":"77 11 1","pages":"36-53"},"PeriodicalIF":1.1,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87656080","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In addition, it provides the entire skeleton for an organization to continue delivering several services to its internal members (employees) and external ones (customers/partners). The interruption of services leads to a significant deterioration of the infrastructure, and at the same time, it slows down their functioning. Additionally, it can result in important loss of user trust. Therefore, we need to proactively help the technician teams to assess the quality and availability of their IT infrastructure. This study may help to build an approach for an IT infrastructure called MAITD-2 in order to classify, analyze, and take problems to closure in a short time face to a multi-criteria decision-making problem.","PeriodicalId":42414,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Decision Support System Technology","volume":"208 1","pages":"71-91"},"PeriodicalIF":1.1,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75757786","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
