However, those conversations of about 100 years has not been finished yet in the context of the Protestant Churches in Indonesia. The reason for the delay is not only because this issue is a new discourse, but also the “concept” of worship in Indonesia is from and for adults only. Tracing of the ritual study in this paper brings the conversation of communion to children or paedocommunion to wider perspective. Paedocommunion is not only a matter of historical, biblical, or children's rights in worship, but also relates to the rite of initiation. Paedocommunion has to do with understanding one's initiation into adulthood. This initiation conversation does not only raise the issue of the rights of children who have been baptized and take communion in the Eucharist. In the perspective of anthropological and social initiation, paedocommunion begins with child baptism, and is related to catechism, confirmation, and the Holy Communion. The purpose of this paper is that the receiving communion to children should be investigated thoroughly as a sequence of initiation rites for ecclesiating someone. The closing of the paper is a discourse on integrating paedocommunion in initiation rites. AbstrakMenerimakan komuni kepada anak merupakan percakapan lama di beberapa gereja internasional. Namun, percakapan sekitar 100 tahun ini tak kunjung selesai dalam konteks Gereja-gereja Protestan di Indonesia. Penyebab keterlambatan itu bukan hanya karena isu ini merupakan wacana baru, tetapi juga “konsep” ibadah di Indonesia adalah dari dan untuk orang dewasa. Telusur studi ritus dalam makalah ini membawa percakapan komuni kepada anak atau paedocommunion kepada perspektif lain. Paedocommunion tidak hanya soal historisitas, biblis, atau hak anak dalam ibadah, tetapi juga kait mengait dengan ritus inisiasi. Paedocommunion harus disangkutkan dengan pemahaman inisiasi kedewasaan seseorang. Percakapan inisiasi ini tidak hanya mengangkat persoalan hak anak yang telah dibaptis dan mengambil komuni. Dalam perspektif inisiasi secara antropologis dan sosial, paedocommunion dimulai dari baptisan anak, dan kaitannya dengan katekisasi, sidi, dan bermuara pada perjamuan kudus. Tujuan makalah ini adalah bahwa menerimakan komuni kepada anak harus ditelisik secara menyeluruh sebagai urutan ritus inisiasi menggerejakan seseorang. I define that the Servant of the LORD who experiences the election is the communal Nation of Israel. The purpose of this article is to analyze the Servant of the LORD narrative in Isaiah 42:1-9 through Gerhard von Rad's diachronic analysis, as this method penetrates into the layers of the Old Testament with the aim of revealing Israel's \"theological activity\" which is one of the most important and interesting activities. The results of this study show that the selection of the Nation of Israel as the mediator was an incomparable gift and was accepted in unquestioning obedience. In this case, the covenant as a form of election will be carried out, first of all, the Israelites as Servants of the LORD must form and experience unity with God, so that the Israelites enjoy God's presence and manifest it holistically in social life with other nations for the stability of a peaceful environment, and in which sinful humanity can serve others by opening the way into fellowship with God, so that even those who are chosen who are rebellious or do not know God will be assured that they will be helped if they are able to rise up and help the outside world through the task of praxis, which is holistic liberation.AbstrakNarasi Hamba TUHAN dalam Yesaya 42:1-9 merupakan sebuah proyeksi yang akan terwujud pada kehidupan kini dan nanti. Penulis menetapkan bahwa Hamba TUHAN yang mengalami pemilihan ialah Bangsa Israel komunal. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa narasi Hamba TUHAN dalam Yesaya 42:1-9 melalui analisis diakronis oleh Gerhard von Rad, sebab metode ini menembus sampai kelapisan dari Perjanjian Lama dengan tujuan mengungkapkan “kegiatan teologi” Israel yang merupakan salah satu kegiatan yang tergolong paling penting dan menarik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pemilihan Bangsa Israel sebagai media perantara merupakan anugerah yang tiada tara dan diterima dalam ketaatan tanpa bantahan. The life of the indigenous people of the Moi tribe, West Sentani, is being threatened due to the reduced population of sago trees. The presence of the Debet Pai Kendik culture will emphasize the religious side of restoring and maintaining the environment through the sago forest as a manifestation of God's mandate that humans must obey and carry out. This paper analyzes the contextual theology of the Debet Pai Kendik culture and the Church's calling through that culture. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data collection techniques include interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The study results show that people are aware that their natural conditions are being threatened, so they take actions that have high respect and appreciation for the sago tree as a brother created by God. Meanwhile, the Church plays a role in exploring the Debit Pai Kendik and packaging it into a source of moral norms that are friendly and respectful to the environment. AbstrakKondisi alam dari waktu ke waktu semakin menunjukan keretakan di sana sini. Kehidupan masyarakat adat suku Moi, Sentani Barat tengah terancam akibat berkurangnya populasi pohon sagu. Kehadiran budaya Debet Pai Kendik hendak menegaskan sisi religius tentang pemulihan dan pemeliharaan lingkungan hidup melalui hutan sagu sebagai wujud mandat Allah yang wajib dipatuhi dan dijalankan oleh manusia. Tulisan ini bertujuan menganalisis teologi kontekstual terhadap budaya Debet Pai Kendik dan panggilan Gereja melalui budaya tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan masyarakat telah sadar bahwa kondisi alamnya tengah terancam sehingga melakukan tindakan yang menaruh rasa hormat dan penghargaan yang tinggi terhadap pohon sagu sebagai saudara yang diciptakan Tuhan. Through worship, God speaked to us and vice versa. This intimacy with God or mystical experience is the essence of worship. People were expecting to experience this intimacy trough all the liturgical elements prepared by the liturgy composer. Worship become mechanistic ritualism when it designed without realizing, anticipating, and preparing for mystical experiences. Worship is no longer a medium for people to experience intimacy with God. This article examines about mystical experiences in designing liturgy trough detachment of meister Eckhart. Qualitative interview of seven respondents and study abaut detachment of Eckhart were the methods used in this article. The process of designing liturgy that involves bible study and other materials, also inspiration and guidance from the holy spirit were mystical experiences. Through detachment, these experiences were prepared, anticipated, and improved. This research helps the liturgy composer to design liturgy that emerge from mystical experience. Furthermore, they can prepare, anticipate, and improve mystical experience from the liturgy that they designed. Therefore they can nurture the essence of liturgy. AbstrakIbadah adalah perjumpaan manusia dengan Allah. Melalui ibadah, umat disapa Allah dan sebaliknya. Pengalaman kedekatan dengan Allah atau mistik inilah esensi ibadah Unsur-unsur ibadah dipersiapkan dan ditata dengan harapan orang yang beribadah memperoleh pengalaman tersebut. Menyusun liturgi tanpa menyadari, mengantisipasi, dan mempersiapkan pengalaman mistik membuat ibadah jatuh pada ritualisme mekanistik. Ibadah tidak lagi menjadi medium bagi umat mengalami kedekatan dengan Allah. Tulisan ini mempercakapkan bagaimana merawat pengalaman mistik dalam penyusunan liturgi melalui olah batin lepas bebas. Metode yang digunakan adalah wawancara kualitatif terhadap tujuh responden dan kajian pustaka tentang pengalaman mistik melalui olah batin lepas bebas dari Meister Eckhart. Aktivitas menyusun liturgi yang melibatkan studi Kitab Suci dan bahan penunjang lainnya serta tuntunan Roh Kudus yang menginspirasi merupakan pengalaman mistik. Pengalaman mistik dapat diantisipasi melalui olah batin lepas bebas. Pengetahuan ini menolong penyusun liturgi menjalankan perannya yang bersumber dari pengalaman mistik. Selain itu, mereka dapat mempersiapkan dan mengantisipasi pengalaman mistik dalam ibadah. Dengan begitu pengalaman mistik dalam ibadah terpelihara. Similar to Covid-19, leprosy is also an infectious disease. Even those who suffer from leprosy sometimes have to be exiled from the community, because the disease they suffer is considered the result of sin (a plague) so that they are declared unclean. Of course, the values that Jesus applied to lepers, if applied in a world hit by Covid-19 today, will not lead to attitudes that are prone to marginalization. In reviewing this article, the approach used is descriptive qualitative, by utilizing various sources, both from books and online journals related to this research, especially sources related to hermeneutics. This research shows that although the leper was excommunicated, Jesus actually showed the opposite, which was to have mercy on him. In addition, this attitude of Jesus is an attitude of high solidarity in helping those who are marginalized due to illness. Jesus also showed concrete action by extending His hand. This is a form of His care that not only appears in thoughts but also through actions. This is the attitude that believers should also have to live in a world that is still struggling with the Covid-19 pandemic.AbstrakTujuan penulisan artikel ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana sikap Yesus terhadap orang yang menderita penyakit kusta, sehingga nilai-nilai yang Yesus tanamkan menjadi bagian penting kehidupan orang percaya di masa pandemi Covid-19. Sama halnya dengan Covid-19 penyakit kusta juga termasuk penyakit menular. Bahkan mereka yang menderita penyakit kusta kadang kala harus diasingkan dari tengah-tengah masyarakat, karena penyakit yang diderita dianggap akibat dari dosa (tulah) sehingga mereka dinyatakan najis. Tentu nilai-nilai yang Yesus terapkan bagi orang kusta jika diterapkan dalam dunia yang dilanda Covid-19 sekarang ini, tidak akan memunculkan sikap yang rentan memarginalisasi. Dalam mengkaji artikel ini, pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif, dengan memanfaatkan berbagai sumber baik dari buku, maupun jurnal-jurnal online yang terkait dengan penelitian ini, khususnya sumber yang berkaitan dengan hermeneutik. Dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa meskipun orang kusta dikucilkan, tetapi Yesus justru memperlihatkan sebaliknya yaitu menaruh belas kasihan kepadanya. Selain itu sikap Yesus ini merupakan sikap solidaritas yang tinggi dalam menolong mereka yang terpinggirkan karena penyakit. Tindakan nyata juga diperlihatkan Yesus dengan cara mengulurkan tangan-Nya. Inilah bentuk kepdulian-Nya yang tidak hanya muncul dalam pikiran tetapi juga melalui tindakan. Eating together becomes a symbol in both religious and cultural rituals. Christianity notes that eating together becomes a medium in spreading the gospel that Jesus and His disciples did. The symbolic meaning presented in the practice or culture of eating together is acceptance and fellowship. Acceptance is defined as a space to acknowledge the equality of fellow human beings, which creates a sense of solidarity. At the same time, the fellowship provides space to connect. In addition, eating together fulfills the body's physical needs for hunger and restores the freshness of the soul from fatigue. This article tries to connect symbols in eating together to present spirituality in viewing other creations, namely nature that has been damaged. Natural damage needs to be seen as a reality that must be faced and resolved t in the spirituality of eating together. Another creation is nature being the poor, oppressed, marginalized and sick. The solidarity presented in the moment of eating together becomes a new perspective in seeing the context of the destruction of nature and the awareness to build the disconnected interconnection of fellow creations.AbstrakMakan bersama merupakan budaya yang lahir seiring dengan peradaban manusia. Makan bersama menjadi simbol baik dalam ritual keagamaan maupun budaya. Kekristenan mencatat bahwa makan bersama menjadi sebuah media dalam mengabarkan Injil yang dilakukan Yesus dan para murid-Nya. Makna simbolik yang dihadirkan dalam ritual atau budaya makan bersama adalah penerimaan dan persekutuan. Penerimaan diartikan sebagai sebuah ruang untuk mengakui adanya persamaan terhadap sesama manusia yang menimbulkan rasa solidaritas. Sedangkan persekutuan memberikan ruang untuk saling terhubung satu dengan yang lain. Selain itu makan bersama tidak sekadar memenuhi kebutuhan fisik tubuh akan rasa lapar tetapi juga mengembalikan kesegaran jiwa akan rasa lelah. Artikel ini mencoba menghubungkan simbol-simbol dalam makan bersama untuk menghadirkan spiritualitas dalam memandang ciptaan lain yaitu alam yang telah rusak. Kerusakan alam perlu dipandang sebagai sebuah kenyataan yang harus dihadapi dan diselesaikan bersama dalam spiritualitas makan bersama. Ciptaan lain yaitu alam menjadi yang miskin, tertindas, tersingkir dan sakit. The subject of the research is the history of missions in East Java, especially in 1812-1848. Therefore, this study employs an analysis of gender and power relations both through feminist theory initiated by Kwok Pui Lan and also orientalism theory brought by Edward Said in examining the history of mission in East Java on that period. The characters appointed as the research subjects are Johannes Emde and Coenrad Laurens Coolen, along with their wives and children. They are the pioneers in introducing the gospel to the Javanese in East Java, thus become the foundations of the Christian community in East Java. In particular, the life of Emde and Coolen are so intertwined with the history of the East Java Christian Church (GKJW). However, there is a gender gap found in the mission by Emde and Coolen. In response, this research is conducted to keep building the awareness of gender justice as the history of Christianity carry on.AbstrakTulisan ini adalah bentuk upaya membangun kesadaran terhadap keadilan gender atas sejarah Kekristenan melalui penelitian pada sejarah pekabaran Injil di Jawa Timur khususnya pada tahun 1812-1848. Untuk itu penelitian ini menggunakan analisis gender dan relasi kuasa melalui teori feminis yang digagas oleh Kwok Pui Lan dan teori orientalisme yang dibawa oleh Edward Said dalam menelaah sejarah pekabaran Injil di Jawa Timur pada periode tersebut. Tokoh-tokoh yang diangkat adalah Johannes Emde dan Coenrad Laurens Coolen, beserta istri dan anaknya. Mereka memiliki andil besar dalam mengenalkan Injil dan menjadi pondasi komunitas Kristen di Jawa Timur. Utamanya tokoh Emde dan Coolen yang begitu melekat pada sejarah Greja Kristen Jawi Wetan (GKJW). Namun dalam proses pekabaran Injil yang dilakukan oleh Emde dan Coolen lekat dengan ketimpangan gender. As a formation of the history of social change, these two elements greatly determine the efforts of religion, in doing theology and church services at the present, in the term of digital theology. Indeed, It is determined by the surprising rise of the COVID-19 pandemic which forces religious efforts to deal with digital things. As a new experience, digital theology seeks a form as to how the social change made it. Elements such as secularization, digital culture, and church formation become the important aspects to determine the direction of doing theology. Based on these new experiences, this paper will describe a sketch of how to doing digital theology in Indonesia, especially in the case of GMIT. With the theology of incarnation as the frame, digital theology puts the relational substance (God-human, among human relationships and between the real and digital world. As the digital world as a locus, digital theology therefore over a liquid digital church and the presensia-accompaniment model of a church mission to be the sketch of doing theology in the digital context in Indonesia.AbstrakSekularisasi dan kultur digital adalah dua elemen yang berpengaruh dalam ciri keberagamaan masyarakat religius di abad ke 21. Sebagai bentukan dari sejarah perubahan sosial, kedua hal ini sangat menentukan upaya beragama, berteologi dan bergereja dalam konteks kekinian. Salah satu istilah yang dikedepankan adalah teologi digital. Bentuk berteologi digital saat ini justru didorong oleh situasi pandemi COVID-19. Sebagai sebuah pengalaman dadakan dan baru berteologi secara digital menjadi upaya mencari bentuk mengikuti perubahan sosial` Elemen seperti sekularisasi dan kultur digital dan geliat beragama menjadi aspek yang menentukan arah berteologi. Dengan berpatokan pada pengalaman baru inilah tulisan ini berkenan memberikan gambaran sketsa berteologi digital di Indonesia melalui pengalaman bergereja di GMIT. Payung teologi inkarnasi yang dipakai sebagai usulan berteologi, mendasari keterkaitan relasional baik antara Allah dan manusia, antar-manusia maupun antara dunia real dan digital. The research used the feminist ethnography qualitative method through literature studies, interviews, and observations. The results found that the dowry exchange system, when viewed from a positive side, means that women or children are considered very valuable and vital for the Isirawa community, namely to strengthen kinship between families and clumps, to continue the clan, as a tool of peace in a conflict as prevention of domestic violence. However, on the other hand, it has a negative impact that is more detrimental to women, namely limiting women's rights, violence, and unfair treatment of women and children. So, it needs to be criticized and consider changing some parts of the tradition that marginalize them by providing solutions, understandings, and new Christian values not to eliminate the existing culture but continue to enable carrying out the tradition for the welfare of the people without harming the other.AbstrakTulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi dan mendokumentasikan konsep dan makna maskawin dalam sistem perkawinan tukar pada Suku Isirawa, melihat dampaknya bagi perempuan dan anak, serta memberikan analisis reflektif dari sudut pandang feminis mengenai hal tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif etnografi feminis, melalui studi kepustakaan, wawancara, dan observasi. Hasilnya ditemukan bahwa pada sistem tukar-menukar maskawin tersebut jika dilihat dari sisi positif memiliki makna perempuan atau anak dianggap sangat berharga dan penting bagi masyarakat Isirawa, yakni untuk mempererat kekerabatan antar keluarga dan rumpun, meneruskan marga, dan sebagai alat perdamaian konflik seperti untuk mencegah kekerasan dalam rumah tangga. Tetapi, di sisi lain memiliki dampak negatif yang merugikan, beberapa di antaranya membatasi hak-hak perempuan, terjadi kekerasan, dan perlakuan tidak adil terhadap perempuan dan anak. Dengan demikian, perlu dikritisi dan dipertimbangkan untuk mengubah beberapa bagian tradisi yang memarinalkan tersebut dengan bersama-sama memberi solusi, pemahaman, dan nilai Kristiani yang baru, sehingga tidak serta-merta menghilangkan total budaya yang ada. This article was written using a qualitative method with a hermeneutic approach and literature study. Through these methods and practices, the writing of this article presents a series of written information data about the causes, forms and effects of the trafficking incident that occurred in the story of the character Yusuf in Genesis 37: 12-23. Theoretically, the human trafficking incident that happened in the character of Yusuf in Genesis 37: 12-23 is a form of crime against humanity in the form of slavery which involves the exploitation of economic and social factors. As a result, as the main character in this incident, Yusuf experienced various acts of physical and mental violence as a logical consequence of the trafficking incident he shared. These acts of physical and psychological violence have a broad impact on the journey of life and the growth of Yusuf's human dimension. The record of the sale of the figure of Yusuf in the Elohis traditional text ended with the recovery of the victim's trauma through a restitution approach and spiritual maturity. Both methods are essential contributions to the contextualization of Yusuf's story for the problem of human trafficking today.ABSTRAKArtikel ini dibuat dengan tujuan untuk menjelaskan secara sistematis dan kontekstual tentang peristiwa perdagangan manusia yang terjadi dalam kisah Kejadian 37: 12-23. Artikel ini ditulis menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan hermeneutik dan studi kepustakaan. Melalui metode dan pendekatan tersebut, penulisan artikel ini menyajikan serangkaian data informasi tertulis tentang sebab, bentuk dan akibat dari peristiwa perdagangan manusia yang terjadi pada kisah tokoh Yusuf dalam Kejadian 37: 12-23. Secara teoritis, peristiwa perdagangan manusia yang menimpa tokoh Yusuf dalam Kejadian 37:12 -23 merupakan bentuk kejahatan kemanusiaan berupa perbudakan yang melibatkan eksploitasi faktor ekonomi dan faktor sosial. Akibatnya, Yusuf sebagai tokoh utama dalam kejadian ini mengalami berbagai tindakan kekerasan fisik dan mental sebagai konsekuensi logis dari peristiwa perdagangan manusia yang dialaminya. Tindakan kekerasan fisik dan mental tersebut memiliki daya dampak luas bagi perjalanan hidup dan pertumbuhan sisi kemanusiaan Yusuf. Catatan kisah perdagangan tokoh Yusuf dalam teks tradisi Elohis, diakhiri dengan adanya pemulihan trauma korban yang dilakukan melalui pendekatan restitusi dan pematangan spiritual.
