The paper discusses the differences between diffraction of the optical wave on circular and annular aperture. In order to simplify the model of diffraction the Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope was approximated by annular aperture. This simplification seems to be valid according to experimental measurement which was carried out at the laboratory. The aim of the paper is to determine how the obscuration of the telescope affect the coupling efficiency of the Fully Photonic Receiver. Fully Photonic Receiver is used for direct coupling of the optical wave from free space to the single-mode optical fiber.","PeriodicalId":423206,"journal":{"name":"2017 Conference on Microwave Techniques (COMITE)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126104328","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The tuning is obtained through using liquid crystal material in the central capacitor gap. Fitting the resonator with an interdigital capacitor, increases the total capacitance of the structure as well as the tuning range. An equivalent circuit model synthesis is proposed to simplify the design procedure of the FSS. The result of the full-wave electromagnetic simulation along with the result of circuit simulation indicate a tuning range of 7.73%, between 4.60 to 4.97 GHz. The final resonator designed in this work can be used in an array to form a tunable frequency selective surface.","PeriodicalId":423206,"journal":{"name":"2017 Conference on Microwave Techniques (COMITE)","volume":"71 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133281059","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The frequencies of the anylysis are 2.4 GHz anf 5.8 GHz to be used for in-car wireless services. Propagation of electromagnetic energy and modeling the transmission channel along a well-conductive plate are the issues discussed. For the analytical description, we used the Norton model of electromagnetic wave propagation. Numerical models of wave propagation along a conductive plate were created in CST Microwave Studio and compared with the analytical model. Finally, the practical experiment was carried out, and results of measurements, numerical modeling and analytical modeling were compared.","PeriodicalId":423206,"journal":{"name":"2017 Conference on Microwave Techniques (COMITE)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128139676","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It has been shown, that appropriate offsetting the antenna array elements from the array symmetry axis allows to improve isolation between adjacent elements, which results in improvement of the obtained radiation pattern. The theoretical investigation has been performed by means of electromagnetic calculations of an exemplary 1 x 4 wideband antenna array composed of Vivaldi type radiating elements operating within 2 - 10 GHz frequency range. The designed antenna array has been manufactured and measured to experimentally verify the performance. Obtained measurement results are in good agreement with the calculated ones, which proves the correctness and usefulness of the proposed approach.","PeriodicalId":423206,"journal":{"name":"2017 Conference on Microwave Techniques (COMITE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130152403","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Signal characteristics of active devices, like distributed feedback laser and avalanche photodiode, which can be obtained from simulations, are the key for performance optical systems. Selection of appropriate numerical methods and tools leads to possibility create effective models emulating more sophisticated optical communication configurations. Sufficiently precise and time effective numerical methods are necessary to obtain characteristics compatible with real devices. Equivalent circuit models utilize sets of differential equations. The key output characteristics of the laser and avalanche photodiode are the optical power, instantaneous optical phase and electrical current at the output. Those fundamental characteristics can be utilized for determination of signal to noise ratio, impact impulse response on the bias voltage and time duration of transmitted symbol. To achieve the maximum signal to noise ratio it is necessary to suppress noise of the semiconductor laser and emit light on the maximum output power. It may be achieved when the laser lasing at the wavelength 800 nm for maximal injected current 24 mA. The 80 V reverse-bias voltage near the breakdown voltage allows maximize output electrical current, simultaneously with high bit rates around 25 Gb/s which increase impulse response of photodiode. Carefully controlling of these parameters is possible by optimization of optical communication system performance.","PeriodicalId":423206,"journal":{"name":"2017 Conference on Microwave Techniques (COMITE)","volume":"129 20","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"113939882","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
