A practical use-case of presented communication system is provided and benefits of using such technique are explained. A smartphone camera based platform and advanced image processing is used for data reception and as a proof of concept implementation of presented communication technique. Visible light communication presents great potential in terms of possible communication bandwidth, transmittter localization, spectral, power and spatial effectivity and more. In the article, the retroreflective communication itself is introduced and compared to common VLC and RFID systems. Essential parts of power balance are mentioned and discussed. Random, two dimensional (2D) matrices with desired size and statistical parameters such as correlation length and root mean square height of the profile are generated in MATLAB®. In order to obtain desired surface parameters, we employ a Gaussian random 2D matrix generator and subsequent filtering with Gaussian 2D filter. A macro in Visual Basic for Application is then developed to convert these matrices into continuous surfaces in CST MWS. Sadot - Kopeika model was chosen for determination of atmospheric turbulence during the whole day. Information about temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, time of sunrise and sunset is necessary for calculations in case of usage of the model. The main advantage of Sadot - Kopeika model is in possibility of prediction of refractive index structure parameter. We need meteorological data, so we compared the predictions for one and two days in advance from three online meteorological services. After that we have compared predicted data with data from meteorological station. The signal level monitoring enables us to derive the atmospheric attenuation which is object of our research (its statistics and relation to relevant meteorological parameters like rain, liquid water content (LWC) and water vapor density. The LNB is located in the focus of 1.8 m parabolic offset antenna and signal is twice converted down. The resolution is 0.5 dB and sampling rate 20 Hz. Signal record is burdened by satellite space motion. Therefore a new detector was added later to enable the autonomous antenna tracking in elevation and the daily peak to peak variation due to satellite motion was significantly reduced. Recently merged splitter on second IF 1.7 GHz provides signal for 39 GHz radiometer. Examples of recorded signal with and without atmospheric attenuation are added. The presented method solely relies on the mutual impedance matri:s: of elements of the array. In turn, the proposed approach is yery fast. Various modal decompositions are performed on an array of parallel dipoles placed horizontally above an infinite electric ground plane. The dipoles have prescribed sinusoidal currents. It radiates linearly polarized wave which can be controlled in the range of angles ± 30° with respect to the longitudinal axis of the antenna with maximum radiation in the perpendicular direction to the antenna plane.
