Radial artery is our first option approach for cardiac catheterization. Once the study is finished, the catheter is removed from the arterial access and the puncture site is compressed to obtain hemostasis with a Tensoplast® compressive bandage. Based in our previous experience with the use of Nobecutan® aerosol in femoral bandage, we decided to extend it to the radial access. Our goal is to explore the Nobecutan® impact in puncture site cutaneous protection, where radial bandage is placed. Results show a reduction in dermatological lesion rate after removing the bandage especially in patients under antiplatelet therapy and in those with previous dermatological lesion secondary to skin shaving rounding puncture site.</p>","PeriodicalId":42304,"journal":{"name":"Revista Rol de Enfermeria","volume":"40 1","pages":"43-6"},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2017-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"36530195","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The implantation of a venous access device with subcutaneous reservoir offers the possibility of multiple and long-term frequent injections and also blood extraction from a less invasive way. They are aesthetically more acceptable than external catheters, they have a lower risk of accidental release and infection, they require less care and they allow extra-hospital treatment. Another advantage to consider is that they cause less limitations in daily life, which is associated with an increased quality of life. Placement of devices with camera of brachial location, was done by the first time by venotomy technique with many doubts; however, the results of placement success and the decreased complications, improved significantly when the placement began performing by vascular radiology services using fluoroscopy and ultrasound. Particularly striking is the success rate (between 99% and 100%) with a 0% rate of placement complications (hemorrhage, pneumothorax). The infection rate is not flashy, remaining within normal parameters in relation to the pectoral systems. The rates of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) are assumable and they are consistent with other related studies. These devices are particularly useful in patients with abnormalities of chest wall such as dermal carcinoma and tumor shell in patients with breast cancer (tumour the bottom shell). And also when there are open wounds in the chest area, such as tracheotomy or fibrosis caused by radiation therapy, or in the presence of scars of flaps after surgery in head and neck cancer (or when it is expected that the patient will receive this surgery), severe kyphosis, obese patients and patients with respiratory failure.</p>","PeriodicalId":42304,"journal":{"name":"Revista Rol de Enfermeria","volume":"40 1","pages":"48-54"},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2017-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"36530199","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With this article we are looking forward to learn the difference based on evidence-interventions that as nurses we can perform in the care of the patient suffering from xersotomia. The management of xerostomia is based in the diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of the disease, using diverse farmalogical and no farmalogical measures, like salivary stimulants and substitutes and cholinergic drugs. There are non-pharmacological methods that can be used alternatively or in synergy with epidural analgesia, without adverse effects on maternal and fetal outcomes. These methods include transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS). TENS is a physiotherapy technique particularly suitable for the dilation period, during the first state of labor, and while women do not perceive a very intense pain. The use in childbirth is recent and controversial. Despite being well received by women and midwives, their effectiveness has not been clearly demonstrated. Organizations such as the Spanish Society of Gynaecology and Obstetrics and the Department of Health, consider this therapy an inefficient non-pharmacological mechanism for pain relief in the active stage of labor. Women should have the option to choose any pain relief method in any stage of their process. Health professionals are the responsible to know, investigate and work with these different methods, offering to pregnant women, adequate information, which must be based on scientific evidence.</p>","PeriodicalId":42304,"journal":{"name":"Revista Rol de Enfermeria","volume":"39 11-12","pages":"27-32"},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2016-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"40544051","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
