In this study,\u0000we examined the overlap between a set of 10 measures of self-related beliefs of academic motivation constructs in two\u0000different biology courses: value items (e.g., utility value, interest value, attainment value, and cost value), achievement\u0000goal orientation items (e.g., mastery approach, mastery avoidance, performance approach, and performance avoidance),\u0000and intrinsic/extrinsic motivation items. Exploratory factor analyses and structural equation modeling indicated that the\u0000covariance among the items is not captured by an item-based factor solution, suggesting these named scales are plagued\u0000by the jingle jangle fallacy. These findings suggest that researchers should either use these constructs independently of\u0000each other or attempt to find a more unified theory of academic self-related motivational beliefs when examining these\u0000constructs together, especially in statistical analyses.

The researchers used the descriptive cross-sectional survey as the research design. Questionnaire was the main instrument to collect quantitative data from respondents. The researcher employed the multi- staged sampling technique to select students for the study. It was discovered that there was no statistically significant difference between the perception of male and female students Economics students with respect economics teachers planning and preparation, classroom environment management and instructional delivery methods in regards to effectiveness of Economics teachers in instructional practices. The study recommended that to maintain and improve upon Economics teachers’ instructional delivery methods, teachers should pay attention to group dynamics so to help them adopt the best pedagogy that meet the learning needs of almost all the student when dealing with any Economics topic. Also, Economics teachers in their capacity should encourage the culture of enquiry into the background information of his or her students (male and female) during pre and post interactive face of instruction and incorporate their feedback into subsequent planning and preparation.

Given that such beliefs are informed by what adolescents see and what those around them believe, adolescents who are part of racial minority groups are more likely to form opinions that they are less able to lead relative to adolescents who are part of majority groups. With our research, we designed learning modules that we delivered during interactive workshops led by research team members from underrepresented groups. In these modules, we discussed systemic racism, programs created to combat inequality, the increasing representation of Black and Hispanic people and women in various high-status positions, and ways to foster and benefit from a growth mindset, for middle and high school students. Results suggested the learning modules increased feelings of belongingness in leadership after the workshop for underrepresented Black and Hispanic adolescents in addition to White and Asian adolescents. We also showed significant increases in beliefs that one can grow leadership abilities for all adolescents; this effect was larger for White and Asian adolescents. We discuss the implications for mitigating the perpetuation of underrepresentation in leadership.

It\u0000investigated the factors that affect students’ attitude towards Social Studies and assessed how students’ attitude towards\u0000Social Studies could be improved. A sample of 72 teachers was used. Methodologically, the study adopted the simple\u0000random sampling technique and purposive sampling technique. Questionnaire was used as the main data collection\u0000instrument. The quantitative data was analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 23.0. whereas\u0000the qualitative data was transcribed appropriately. It was found out that factors found to affect students’ attitude towards\u0000Social Studies include; teachers not showing interest in teaching controversial issues, teachers’ inability to give needed\u0000assistance to students, teachers’ inability to use different teaching methods in teaching Social Studies classes, inadequate\u0000teaching and learning materials and inability of Social Studies teachers to employ resource persons in times of difficulty.\u0000It is therefore recommended that Ghana Education Service should recruit professional teachers to teach Social Studies in\u0000Senior High schools. The current work aims to answer the following question, "Do intentional\u0000homicide rate, rape rate, and selected macroeconomic indicators such as inflation, unemployment, exchange rate (US $\u0000to Jamaican dollar), and GDP per capita rates influence student enrolment at a Private Higher Educational Institution?"\u0000For the present study, data were taken from publications from government departments on macroeconomics and the online\u0000computer system at a Private Higher Educational Institution (1970-2016) [1]. Data were recorded, stored, retrieved,\u0000and analyzed, using the Statistical Packages for the Social Sciences (SPSS) for Windows, Version 24.0. The level of\u0000significance that is used to determine statistical significance is less than 5% (0.05) at the 2-tailed level of significance\u0000[2]. The findings revealed that Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita positively influences student-enrolment at the\u0000Private Higher Educational Institution and that it is the most significant predictor of student enrolment. The results also\u0000revealed that inflation, exchange rate, intentional homicide, and GDP per capita are predictors of student-enrolment,\u0000with these four independent factors accounting for 97.4% of the variability in annual enrolment at the Private Higher\u0000Educational Institution-GDP accounting for most of the variance in student enrolment (i.e. 90.6%).
