However, modern project-oriented firms execute more than one project at a time. This is a common characteristic in the service sector, like telecommunication companies, which run a bundle of projects concurrently. Hence, project scheduling gradually becomes project portfolio scheduling. It must be underlined that projects within a given portfolio are usually interconnected with relationships and dependencies and share common resources. Maximizing the overall value generated from project completion and operation is a main objective in portfolio scheduling. A modification of the IFM approach is used in order to confront this scheduling problem. A set of problem instances is generated in order to instigate a comparison study. The obtained results are quite promising and the method seems to scale well regarding the size of the project portfolio.","PeriodicalId":422501,"journal":{"name":"2017 25th Telecommunication Forum (TELFOR)","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116290195","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The performance of the proposed algorithm is tested on MacKay's widely known LDPC (504,252) code, CCSDS LDPC (256,128) and our irregular LDPC (128,64) code. The bit error rate indicated by our novel solution is up to five times lower for a particular signal-to-noise ratio of tested codes measured through AWGN simulations. Furthermore, a decoding time required for the same bit error rate as the bit error rate of a traditional BP decoder is up to three times lower when our approach is used in a non-pipelined implementation.","PeriodicalId":422501,"journal":{"name":"2017 25th Telecommunication Forum (TELFOR)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115100244","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methodology that follows this transformation is based on the best features and benefits of a unified development process with the introduction of numerous principles of the agile software development. The proposed solution necessarily leads to additional unloading of the counters, automation of transactions, improvement of services to users, significant cost savings, attracting new ones as well as retention of existing clients.","PeriodicalId":422501,"journal":{"name":"2017 25th Telecommunication Forum (TELFOR)","volume":"76 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125959131","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Hardware of powerful servers can support multiple 10 Gb/s ports, but, the software cannot process shortest packets at such high throughputs even when it utilized the netmap platform. Such performance indicates that there is a room for improvements of the netmap platform. Translation of virtual memory addresses to physical memory addresses might be one of bottlenecks that slow down packet processing. This translation can be simplified and sped up by utilization of huge pages, as their number is smaller. In this paper, we will explore improvements that can be achieved by utilization of huge pages within the netmap based applications. We will demonstrate that the significant packet rate increase can be achieved by utilization of huge pages.","PeriodicalId":422501,"journal":{"name":"2017 25th Telecommunication Forum (TELFOR)","volume":"144 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122178590","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The ECU simulator is a component of an Automated Testing System that aims at testing and verifying new devices for vehicle diagnostics. A vehicle has many electronic control units that are communicating over various automotive protocols. The vehicle diagnostic device must be able to communicate with all the ECUs. One of the key components in the automated test system is the ECU simulator that is able to simulate any of the ECUs, communicating with various automotive protocols, simulating any possible state. In this paper, the solution for the challenging task of designing and implementing the ECU simulator is presented.","PeriodicalId":422501,"journal":{"name":"2017 25th Telecommunication Forum (TELFOR)","volume":"106 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123549309","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Virtual-link implies the service of QoS-guaranteed data transfer between two points in ISP (Internet Service Provider) network. The approach relies on Software Defined Networking (SDN) architecture based on OpenFlow protocol, that allows highly granular traffic splitting across multiple paths. The traffic control logic of SDN controller is divided in offline and online component. The online component handles dynamic arrivals of virtual-link requests in accordance to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) requirements. The offline component is responsible for periodic optimization of traffic distribution in the network. In this way, we tend to increase acceptance ratio for virtual-link requests and minimize degradation of best-effort traffic in scalable manner. Simulation results show that the proposed method for virtual-link provisioning outperforms Multi Protocol Label Switching based solution.","PeriodicalId":422501,"journal":{"name":"2017 25th Telecommunication Forum (TELFOR)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131496992","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Accelerating program execution relies mostly on spreading the work over processing units. This imposes the necessity for communication between these units. Dataflow architectures solve the computation problem by treating the execution as a factory, where many operations are done in parallel. However, the constraint is that only the program for which the dataflow hardware is constructed could be executed. Reconfigurable dataflow hardware solves this problem at the price of having to reconfigure the hardware whenever a new program should be executed. Also, this reduces efficiency. Hybrid control flow and dataflow architectures are capable of executing both programs written for dataflow and for control flow architectures. Based on the hybrid architectures, a greedy algorithm is presented that schedules programs for dataflow and control flow processors.","PeriodicalId":422501,"journal":{"name":"2017 25th Telecommunication Forum (TELFOR)","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128902504","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
