We have heuristically improved the training parameter setting by a Deep Neural Network (DNN) using quad-core CPU and Graphical Processing Unit (GPU) and develop a setting to improve training performances. Along with that, a Parallel Phase Neural network model (PHNNM) has been proposed for the prediction of the long-term survival of liver patients who undergo liver transplantation (LT). We made survival analysis of 13 years in the prediction of liver patients after LT and trained the liver transplantation system to follow up data of 13 years separately using a multilayer perceptron PHNNM model with proper selection of data attributes in conjunction with evaluating the survival probabilities of such data. This paper proved that our prediction model is suitable for the long-term prognosis of survival of patients after LT. The promising results are shown, in combination with the computational performances in terms of CPU and GPU.","PeriodicalId":421963,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 1st International Conference for Convergence in Engineering (ICCE)","volume":"904 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132470371","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Additionally, this study also categorizes the optimal etching parameters which are extensively used to grow Porous Silicon (PS) layers enabling Metal Induced Vapor Phase Stain Etching methodology. Various growth conditions are considered to fabricate uniform porous structures. The structural morphology of PS layers has been studied in scanning electron microscopy (SEM) that reveals macroporous nature of pore morphology supported by investigation of optical properties. This has been supported by characterizing ultraviolet-visible (UV-VIS) spectrophotometer absorption spectra. Surface and optical investigations discover uniform porous structure which augments the size of silicon substrate. This augmented surface of planar silicon substrate can be used as sensing platform for different kinds of sensors.","PeriodicalId":421963,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 1st International Conference for Convergence in Engineering (ICCE)","volume":"982 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132967210","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is considered to be one of the most critical and standardized tests conducted at the national level in India and it aims in examining the technical aptitude and practical ability of engineering students. Numerous institutes offer quality coaching for GATE/IES aspirants through online and classroom courses. The prime objective of this research is to evaluate the performance of six leading institutes which provide GATE exam preparation coaching across the country. A literature review has been carried and six influential parameters were identified for the assessment of institutions. Relevant data have been gathered from expert’s opinion and simulated numerically. This study propounds a hybrid fuzzy-multi criteria decision making (MCDM) approach where fuzzy-analytical hierarchy process (AHP) is used to determine the priority weights of criteria and fuzzy-technique for order of preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) is used to prioritize, rank and benchmark the institutions. In this study, fuzzy set theory is incorporated with MCDM to eliminate the vagueness and discrepancy present in the human judgement. To the best of our knowledge it is one of the few studies that measure the performance of educational institutions in India.","PeriodicalId":421963,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 1st International Conference for Convergence in Engineering (ICCE)","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131995807","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Polarization and depolarization current (PDC) measurement is a noninvasive technique to judge the condition of dielectrics used for high voltage insulation. Polarization current is the combination of conduction current and displacement current but the depolarization current is only dependent on dipole relaxation and so, no conduction current is involved in it. Therefore, the depolarization current directly depends on the response function which is further dependent on the inherent property of the dielectric. So, it is possible to analyze the condition of the insulation on the basis of PDC. In this paper, the Debye model parameters are estimated from the depolarization current. It is identified from the branch parameters that with increase of ageing duration the branch parameters as well as the time constant of each branch distinctly increased. An equation is derived which is based on released charge from the depolarization current. From the equation, parameters which can identify the ageing status could be observed.","PeriodicalId":421963,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 1st International Conference for Convergence in Engineering (ICCE)","volume":"276 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127346990","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Inaccuracy in estimated wire/cable resistance and inductance that are used in the current controller results in phase and magnitude error in the grid current developing non-unity power factor of operation. This situation is highly undesirable and increases the grid current magnitude unnecessarily at a given power level. In order to keep the grid current minimum in magnitude and enhance control stability, the current controller needs to get system parameters updated in real time. This paper proposes a simple and excellent parameter autotuning technique capable of correcting inaccurately estimated parameters. An extensive SIMULINK based simulation has been carried out to verify the performance of the proposed technique and demonstrate the efficacy of restoration of unity power factor operation when it is implemented.","PeriodicalId":421963,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 1st International Conference for Convergence in Engineering (ICCE)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126887669","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In a deregulated power system due to Transmission Open Access (TOA), it becomes an uphill task for Independent System Operators (ISO) to maintain security and reliability of power system. The DG implementation improves the efficiency of the system by reducing the energy cost. This paper analyses the contributions of single and multiple DGs with different cost functions in the electricity market. The objective of this work is to minimize the total generation cost with conventional and distributed generation along with maximum DG profit. The favorable location for DG incorporation is identified by Linear Programming Optimal Power Flow (LPOPF). The higher LMP method is used to find the candidate location for DG placement. The proposed methodology for the penetration of multiple DG is based on the ratio of the LMPs of the candidate node. The Type1 DG is considered in this study, i.e. can feed in both active and reactive power. The study is performed on the IEEE WSCC 9 bus system.","PeriodicalId":421963,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 1st International Conference for Convergence in Engineering (ICCE)","volume":"99 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127158396","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
