Similar to the case of work accidents, results suggest a positive association between the state of the economic cycle and the incidence rate of occupational illnesses. The reported increase in occupational illnesses between 2009 and 2020 should not be interpreted as bad news. Regulatory changes underwent by Spain’s government introduced a logical harmonization in illnesses’ notification criteria, which led to a temporal convergence of occupational illnesses with and without work leave days. Also, legal reforms facilitated the updating of the list of occupational illnesses and their causing agents, which constitutes a sign that the level of protection of Spanish workers improved, in terms of occupational health and safety at the workplace","PeriodicalId":42185,"journal":{"name":"Tec Empresarial","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135798734","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Despite their relevance, projects in these countries typically fail or are abandoned before completion. Recent calls suggest that projects in DCs are multifaceted, interdependent and of a complex nature; consequently, they are influenced by various factors that are specific to these territories, requiring new research efforts that delve deeper into the particularities of this specific setting. Literature on project management success (PMS) in DCs is very limited, and the existing attempts either rely on PMS factors for developed countries and/or use conventional variable-oriented analyses that are not transferrable to the context of DCs. Aiming to shed new light on the factors that shape PMS in DCs, this study examines both the configurational and the independent influence of three factors that have been emphasised in PM literature as determinants of PMS. To achieve this objective, a survey was conducted among 215 project manager practitioners in Ghana. First, we validate the factors’ structure obtained from literature. Next, we examine the configurational influence of these factors on PMS in DCs, complementing the findings with robustness checks. Our results support the existence of distinct pathways, suggesting that there is no unique recipe, but different strategies that can be followed. The study concludes with a series of recommendations that are expected to help engineers and project managers in DCs understand and deal with project management challenges.","PeriodicalId":42185,"journal":{"name":"Tec Empresarial","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2022-04-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84696729","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Two studies were carried out: first, a qualitative study based on eleven in-depth interviews with experts in tourism decisions; and second, we ran a quantitative analysis on a sample of 300 frequent users of tourism CGM platforms. The resulting scale, which consists of 4 dimensions and 12 items, is used to measure the credibility of information published in the tourism CGM platforms. The scale was tested for its dimensionality, reliability, and validity; and the results corroborate its accuracy and value as a source of information for travel decision-making. Several indicators are drawn from the Web of Science database using the HistCite software for bibliometrics, including annual publications, citation density, and journals with the highest number of publications. For the empirical application, a qualitative approach was adopted through a case study of four companies located in Valencia with the application of a semi-structured interview. The Atlas.ti software was used to analyze the data. The results indicate a relationship between knowledge and entrepreneurship constructs through theoretical modeling, highlighting the importance of the origin of knowledge for new venture creation, knowledge commercialization processes through entrepreneurship opportunities, and the origin and transmission of knowledge in organizations with entrepreneurial orientation (EO). The main limitation is the dispersion of research topics and the exclusion of publications that did not address the investigated relationship directly. The theoretical model proposed in this study can be extended to different spheres to identify and generate entrepreneurship opportunities, especially in universities and incumbent firms. Future studies should further validate the model empirically","PeriodicalId":42185,"journal":{"name":"Tec Empresarial","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2022-03-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74080073","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By employing the ‘benefit of the doubt’ model rooted in non-parametric techniques to scrutinize a composite indicator designed to assess the digital ecosystem (i.e., the Digital Platform Economy (DPE) index), the analysis allows the computation of endogenous (country-specific) weights that can be used for developing more informed policy making. The results show that countries prioritize different aspects of their digital ecosystem which confirms that, contrary to homogeneous prescription, tailor-made policy is a more desirable approach if the objective is to optimize the resources deployed to enhance the countries’ digital ecosystem.","PeriodicalId":42185,"journal":{"name":"Tec Empresarial","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2021-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84943857","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Por medio de la aplicación de una encuesta a 388 sujetos de la región de Coquimbo (zona vitivinícola del norte Chile) y la estimación de un modelo multivariante, se analizó la influencia de cuatro atributos de valor en la decisión de compra del consumidor. Los resultados muestran que la importancia relativa del envase es de 28% (botella: 9% y tapa: 19%); del precio, 29%, y de la cepa, 43%. En particular, se prefieren los vinos encorchados con base cóncava, cepa Cabernet Sauvignon y precio alto. Se revela que el consumidor posee un comportamiento de compra enfocado en la calidad (precio como señal de calidad) y que no manifiesta una zona de producción predilecta. Además, se determinó que la importancia del envase se relaciona inversamente con la edad y directamente con el ingreso del consumidor. Se espera que los hallazgos permitan a los vitivinicultores locales mejorar el posicionamiento de sus vinos en el mercado.","PeriodicalId":42185,"journal":{"name":"Tec Empresarial","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2020-07-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80545571","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Para esto, se ha iniciado con la validación y adaptación de las escalas basadas en los modelos de Porter, así como de Cameron y Quinn, lo cual constituye el objetivo fundamental del presente estudio. A partir de la revisión de literatura, se ha planteado un conjunto de hipótesis asociadas a las teorías de Miles y Snow, las cuales fueron utilizadas para la validación del constructo convergente, además, se analizó la consistencia interna, externa y de constructo. De esta forma, para realizar la validación de contenido se recurre al uso de la entrevista cognitiva. Por otro lado, la validez de constructo de la estrategia de Porter fue comprobada mediante análisis factorial exploratorio y convergente, el cual mostró como resultado el agrupamiento de los ítems según lo planteado por Porter. En este análisis se destaca, además, el hallazgo de una correlación positiva entre las estrategias de diferenciación y liderazgo en costos. Asimismo, las escalas mostraron una buena consistencia interna al resultar confiables, a excepción de los ítems relacionados con la estrategia de enfoque. Esta validación se realiza con el fin de que la escala pueda ser utilizada posteriormente para identificar si el tipo de estrategia y cultura que posee la empresa influye sobre otros aspectos clave de las pymes de Costa Rica.","PeriodicalId":42185,"journal":{"name":"Tec Empresarial","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2020-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78691175","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As a result, universities are heterogeneous organizations. This study analyses universities’ heterogeneity in Spain. By using a dataset from the Spanish higher education system, we model the objective function of universities and investigate which factors help explain universities’ performance, in terms of the three missions that they mostly perform (teaching, research and technology transfer). Also, a cluster analysis is performed to categorise Spanish universities. The findings contribute to better understand the different behaviours shown by universities. The findings underline the heterogeneity of Spanish universities: while some universities focus more on formation (teaching) goals, other universities excel at disseminating knowledge through different scientific outputs.
