Early human civilizations used Moringa peregrina extracts against a variety of illnesses and infections caused by food. M. Peregrina grows well in a variety of harsh conditions, including high temperatures, limited water supply, and nutrient-deficient soils. There is something remarkable about this plant's resilience and ability to survive in challenging environments. To conserve water and withstand extreme drought conditions, it has evolved unique adaptations. M. peregrina's deciduous leaves allow it to shed its leaves during dry periods to reduce water loss through transpiration. As a result of this adaptation, it is able to endure prolonged periods of water scarcity. A serious infection can be caused by Candida kruzei, an opportunistic fungal pathogen that is especially dangerous to immuno-compromised individuals, and the increasing drug-resistance of several Candida strains have necessitated the search for alternative to standard anti-fungal agents to which resistance has grown. The objective of this study was to investigate the antifungal effect of M. peregrina ethanolic extract derived from its leaves, seeds, and roots against C. kruzei. The phytochemical screening of M. peregrina extracts were performed using qualitative determination whilst the antifungal activity of methanol and water extracts of leaves, seeds, and roots was performed using the agar diffusion method. The results of the phytochemical analysis demonstrated the presence of phenolic compounds, steroids, flavonoids, tannins, and saponins. The studied extracts displayed various degrees of antifungal activities against C. kruzei. The extract of the leaves was active against C. kruzei with recorded minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) of 10mg/ml. There is a need for further research to isolate and identify the antimicrobial agent in different parts of M. peregrina. A deeper investigation should be conducted into the antibacterial agent dosages of these plant parts, which may then be used by the pharmaceutical industry. ","PeriodicalId":418878,"journal":{"name":"European Journal of Theoretical and Applied Sciences","volume":"403 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140281215","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study employed a mixed method explanatory-sequential design, which involves collecting and analyzing quantitative data first, followed by the collection and analysis of qualitative data. In the quantitative phase of this research, a simple random sampling method was utilized to administer a modified questionnaire (problem-solving examination type) to 50 calculus students. In the qualitative phase, purposive sampling was used to administer semi-structured in-depth interviews (IDIs) to a sample of 6 participants. Mean and thematic analysis with document analysis were utilized to examine the information that helped researchers identify problem about the subject matter. The study shows an overall high level of computational skills in basic differentiation, which means that the computational skills of students are often manifested. However, the computational skills of students in differential calculus in terms of chain rule are low, which is interpreted as rarely manifested. With this, this research had undergone an in-depth analysis of the challenges of the students in solving application problems using chain rule. The results reveal 3 challenges why the students’ computational skills in terms of the chain rule are low: the complexity of the composition of the chain rule, a lack of practice and exposure in using the chain rule, and uncertainty regarding its application. Effective teaching strategies are essential for breaking down complex concepts and enhancing students' computational skills in basic differentiation rules in calculus. ","PeriodicalId":418878,"journal":{"name":"European Journal of Theoretical and Applied Sciences","volume":"29 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140525377","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research paper presents an Improved Yellow Saddle Goat Fish Algorithm (IYSGA) based method for resolving ELD issues. The key objective of proposed IYSGA method is to reduce error between demanded and generated load along with its unit cost. This objective is accomplished by using YSGA whose exploration ability is improved by exploring ability of Grasshopper Optimization Algorithm (GOA). By implementing IYSGA in given ELD problem, the convergence rate, exploring ability and solution quality is enhanced. The fitness function is determined by IYSGA in terms of error and cost reduction, which should be as minimum as possible. The simulations are performed on standardized IEEE bus system with 3-unit and 6-units to meet load demand of 850MW to 1263MW respectively. The experimental simulations conducted provide evidence that the proposed approach met the load demand with zero error. Furthermore, proposed method attained best cost of $8197.633 and $15,285.7055 for the 3-unit and 6-unit generation unit. These outcomes underscore the robustness and superiority of the proposed method in addressing the Economic Load Dispatch (ELD) problem, emphasizing its capacity to optimize power generation with unparalleled precision and cost-effectiveness. ","PeriodicalId":418878,"journal":{"name":"European Journal of Theoretical and Applied Sciences","volume":"10 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140519832","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Specifically, we utilize the Bi-Directional Long-Short Term Memory (BiLSTM) model which is a variation of the Long-Short-Term Memory (LSTM) model to predict stock prices for the BIST30 stocks. We compare the performance of the model to other commonly used machine learning models like decision tree, bagging, random forest, adaptive boosting (Adaboost), gradient boosting, and eXtreme gradient boosting (XGBoost), artificial neural networks (ANN), and other deep Leaning models like recurrent neural network (RNN), and the Long-Short-Term Memory (LSTM) model. The BiLSTM model seems to have better performance compared to conventional models used for predicting stock prices and continues to have superior performance in the Covid19 period. The LSTM model seems to have a good overall performance and is the next best model. ","PeriodicalId":418878,"journal":{"name":"European Journal of Theoretical and Applied Sciences","volume":"4 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140518798","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Among these resources is monetary capital, and the question arises about how to achieve the efficiency of monetary capital in the Islamic economic system in which interest is not supposed to exist as it is a form of usury that is forbidden in this system. This research proposes an alternative to interest that is consistent with the value provisions of the Islamic system and can be used to achieve an efficient allocation of monetary capital in this system. The result of the search was the Islamic economic system can achieve an efficient allocation of monetary capital without the need for an interest rate by developing allocation mechanisms that are compatible with its value provisions. ","PeriodicalId":418878,"journal":{"name":"European Journal of Theoretical and Applied Sciences","volume":"17 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140518844","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Here we delve into the intricacies of sliding and rolling motion and emphasize the salient points often missed in a cursory analysis which tends to focus mostly on torque and angular momentum. We show, for instance, that when a spinning cylinder slides and skids and ends up rolling, it loses two-thirds of its initial kinetic energy doing work against friction. Moreover, this number is independent of the coefficient of friction! This sounds counterintuitive at first blush. We help the reader develop an intuition for these counterintuitive rolling and sliding scenarios by a simple comparison that will remind the reader that they have seen this concept in a more familiar context before. When a car slams on the brakes and skids to a stop the loss of the initial kinetic energy to heat is not dependent on the coefficient of friction. If the coefficient of friction increases the stopping distance decreases and vice versa but the kinetic energy lost to heat remains the same. The more mysterious aspect in the rolling/sliding cylinder is the exact factor 2/3 regardless of the coefficient of friction. We have programmed an app with App Inventor to simulate various scenarios in order to help develop the intuition which we have found lacking in students of physics and engineering. ","PeriodicalId":418878,"journal":{"name":"European Journal of Theoretical and Applied Sciences","volume":"69 3-4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140523568","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The primary objective of this study is to examine the extent to which sustainability reporting correlates with the financial performance of Indian companies, and to understand the nature and strength of this relationship. A meta-analytical approach was adopted to synthesize findings from diverse studies, providing a comprehensive overview of existing literature on the subject. This methodology involved rigorous inclusion and exclusion criteria, a systematic search across major academic databases, and the application of statistical techniques to calculate effect sizes and assess heterogeneity. The key findings indicate a positive, albeit modest, correlation between sustainability reporting and financial performance, as evidenced by an overall effect size (r) of 0.11. This outcome points to the importance of integrating sustainability practices into business strategies, not just as a compliance or ethical imperative but as a potential contributor to financial success. The study’s findings vary across different industries, with the banking sector showing a more significant relationship compared to non-financial firms. The implications of this research are multifaceted, influencing corporate strategy, policy formulation, and investment decisions. It underscores the strategic value of sustainability reporting in the Indian corporate sector and highlights its role in shaping a business approach that harmonizes economic prosperity with environmental and social responsibility. This study contributes to the broader understanding of the interplay between sustainability and financial performance, offering valuable insights for businesses, policymakers, and stakeholders in the rapidly evolving Indian corporate landscape. ","PeriodicalId":418878,"journal":{"name":"European Journal of Theoretical and Applied Sciences","volume":"59 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140522241","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
