In this paper, we analyze the maximum likelihood (ML) decoding failure probability (DFP) of finite length RaptorQ codes, and propose a theoretical performance bound of DFP on the RaptorQ codes under ML decoding algorithm by investigating the rank of the product of two random coefficient matrices. Moreover, we verify the accuracy of derived theoretical bounds through the Monte Carlo simulations over varied Galois field order. The high accuracy bounds can be used to design near-optimum RaptorQ codes with short and moderate lengths.","PeriodicalId":418396,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE/CIC International Conference on Communications in China (ICCC)","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125447136","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A way to increase capacity in this type of network is to aggregate multiple physical links into a single logical link. However, power is being wasted when the aggregated capacity is not being fully utilised. There are cost savings to be gained by only having the required number of physical links on. This paper presents a system that utilises extensions of the OpenFlow protocol to dynamically switch on/off physical links to meet capacity requirements while minimising power consumption while the Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) model is used to predict the traffic load to be carried on aggregated (microwave) links. The proposed system is implemented on commercial-off-the-shelf microwave routers and experimentally validated on a testbed.","PeriodicalId":418396,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE/CIC International Conference on Communications in China (ICCC)","volume":"220 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130351392","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In a wireless communication network, however, the performance of multiple MIMO FDRs is likely to be seriously affected by self-interference(SI), inter-relay interference (IRI) and multi-user interference (MUI). In this paper, we study a distributed beamforming problem for decode-and-forward MIMO FDR network to suppress interference. A sum transmit power minimization problem under per-user rate constraint is formulated. An alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) based distributed algorithm is proposed to solve the optimization problem efficiently. Simulation results demonstrate that the convergence performance of the proposed ADMM-based algorithm is superior to the reference SLIPD method, and the convergence rate of the former is several times as much as that of the latter.","PeriodicalId":418396,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE/CIC International Conference on Communications in China (ICCC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129584726","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, a novel performance analysis framework is proposed for MIMO with orthogonal space-time block coding (OSTBC) under Licklider transmission protocol (LTP) for emerging SINs, where we derive the closed-form expressions of the mean number of transmission rounds by using Laplace transform for reliable data delivery in automatic repeat request (ARQ) and hybrid-ARQ (HARQ) schemes. Furthermore, we derive the throughput expressions for lossless-and truncated-(H)ARQ schemes, and obtain the maximum throughput value on information rate. We also investigate the file delivery time in LTP over Rayleigh and Rician fading channels. Personalized location service in location-based social networks can provide users with a new point-of-interest (POI). Compared to traditional recommendation, point-of-interest recommendation integrates the social network with the location that connects online users and physical places. In current studies, user preference, social influence and geographical influence are mostly taken into consideration to recommend satisfying point-of-interests to users. Although geographical context is significant, most articles only consider spatial properties of geographical influence. In addition to spatial properties of geographical influence, we put a special emphasis on sequence properties of that to exploit implicit dependencies between POIs. We model spatial properties using a kernel density estimation approach to generate a unique distribution for each user. Furthermore, user preference, social influence, and sequence properties of geographical influence are integrated into a random walk model on graph. Finally, we conduct a comprehensive performance evaluation over two real-world datasets collected from Brightkite and Gowalla. Experimental results show that the proposed recommendation approach performs better than other methods.","PeriodicalId":418396,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE/CIC International Conference on Communications in China (ICCC)","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114843780","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Without puncturing, first scheme is searching the optimal redundant bits to transmit in the last remaining redundancy range progressively. Secondly, we propose a simpler design of transmitting the redundancy incrementally in the priority of importance of parity bits. Simulations indicate that with SPC length of 128 bits, both proposed schemes with SIR can obtain a significant throughput gain compared with IEEE standard for wireless body area networks and the state-of-the-art systematic polar coded IR-HARQ in AWGN channel, without high increase of complexity. Additionally, the proposed SIR also performs much better than the non-SIR scheme in Rayleigh fading channel.","PeriodicalId":418396,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE/CIC International Conference on Communications in China (ICCC)","volume":"286 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132220493","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Malicious users may utilize camouflage, phishing and other unconventional techniques to lure ordinary users to reveal their sensitive attributes in their interactive messages, when they least expect that the other sides are malicious. Therefore, it is very important to identify malicious users quickly and successfully when socializing over OSNs. In this paper, we propose a privacy-preserving interactive messaging scheme by relying on user credibility, which characterizes users' reputation through users' social behaviors, and use the item response theory in psychometrics to assess the risk levels of users' interactive messages. We have conducted extensive studies by sending interactive messages with sensitive attributes and have observed that the success rate of identifying malicious users based on user credibility is significantly higher and our scheme can effectively lower the risk of privacy leakage in our interactive messaging system.","PeriodicalId":418396,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE/CIC International Conference on Communications in China (ICCC)","volume":"106 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134236063","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Hence, in this work, the characteristics of cyclic spectrum are studied, and an efficient weak communication signal detection method is proposed thereupon. By studying the cyclic spectrum of the communication signal, an analytical scheme determining the cyclic spectrum line of the communication signal, i.e. Binary Phase Shift Keying (BPSK) modulated signal, is proposed. In order to improve the detection efficiency, a sparse vector is used to express the characteristics of the cyclic spectrum line, and a detection mechanism is established accordingly. Monte Carlo simulation results show that the proposed method achieves higher detection accuracy without inducing more computation complexity compared to the peering cyclic spectrum detection techniques.","PeriodicalId":418396,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE/CIC International Conference on Communications in China (ICCC)","volume":"326 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133470891","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Our MC/SM-NOMA scheme allows information to one user to be conveyed by multiple subcarrier channels, and each subcarrier channel to be shared by multiple (two or more) users. We consider two subcarrier-allocation schemes and the subcarrier-by-subcarrier optimum power-allocation. The performance of the MC/SM-NOMA systems employing the proposed subcarrier- and power-allocation schemes is investigated in terms of spectral-efficiency based on simulations. Our studies demonstrate that the MC/SM-NOMA scheme is beneficial to high-flexibility implementation of NOMA for various purposes. Furthermore, allowing more users to share one subcarrier channel is capable of significantly increasing the achievable spectral-efficiency.","PeriodicalId":418396,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE/CIC International Conference on Communications in China (ICCC)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116638961","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
