The study was guided by six specific objectives. A descriptive survey design was employed, targeting a population of 168 legal personnel at 43 NFUs. The total enumeration technique was used as a sample for the study. Questionnaires and observation checklists were used as data collection instruments. The researcher administered 168 questionnaires through research assistants, receiving a retrieval rate of 97.00% (163 completed questionnaires). Findings revealed that respondents displayed high competencies in locating, searching, evaluating, selecting, and communicating information resources (IRs). However, their competency in using IRs was found to be low. The study recommends that IL training should be considered a priority by both legal personnel and librarians to ensure smooth cooperation that would facilitate legal services delivery and IL training should be made more regular, consistent, holistic, and widely embraced. That is, any form of IL training should be implemented in both conventional and digital forms so that no individual would be left out.","PeriodicalId":417923,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Digital Educational Technology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140378771","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The present study adapted one of the powerful models for information and communication technology (ICT) integration (thus, unified theory of acceptance and technology use) to assess pre-tertiary mathematics facilitators’ intentions and actual use of ICT for mathematics instructions in Ghana. This study adopts a quantitative research approach with a questionnaire as a survey instrument for collecting 185 valid data from both junior and senior high schools’ mathematics facilitators. Descriptive statistics and an enter multiple regression were deployed to validate the proposed research questions. Using SPPS v.23 as a statistical software for analyzing the data, the result reveals that, performance expectancy, and effort expectancy had a positive and significant effect on mathematics facilitators’ intentions toward ICT adoption. Moreover, social influence was significant but had a negative impact on facilitators intentions. The impact of mathematics facilitators’ intention to use ICT and the facilitating conditions (FCs) within the school environment was also a positive and significant predictor of facilitators’ ICT use behavior. It was concluded from the findings that FCs were the better predictor for mathematics teachers’ ICT use behavior than intention. Hence, the researchers recommended that more government expenditure must be allocated to infrastructures that would improve the use of ICT as well as frequent ICT training must be undertaken to enrich teachers’ knowledge in the affordance of using ICT in mathematics classrooms.","PeriodicalId":417923,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Digital Educational Technology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140425233","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Predominantly aged 18-24 years, university students have only ever known a digitally connected world and communicating online is a core component of their reality. Higher education students and staff are thus regularly communicating online. Online self-presentation techniques and online self-disclosure behaviors are required to communicate online. The online disinhibition effect elevates the risk of over-disclosure. Students may be drawing upon online self-presentation techniques and self-disclosure behaviors to communicate with staff via online educational platforms; this may be useful and result in informative responses from staff, or this could be unsuccessful (particularly if students over-disclose) and result in less informative responses from staff. To explore this, a mixed methods approach has been adopted within this study drawing upon 100 Moodle forum posts and 100 emails between students and staff at one U.K. higher education institution. A deductive thematic analysis identifies occurrences of students online self-presentation techniques and self-disclosure behaviors, and staff’s content disclosure (informativeness of responses). A path analysis then explores the predictive relationship between these components. Findings are the first to highlight that students are indeed utilizing online self-presentation techniques and self-disclosure behaviors via online educational platforms, and that these do predict the informativeness of staff response. Importantly, these findings should be used to support students in how to effectively communicate with staff via online educational platforms, and to educate staff in considerations of how they respond.","PeriodicalId":417923,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Digital Educational Technology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140483354","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The data were gathered from three art history instructors teaching in higher education through semi-structured interviews with a particular focus on reflection on their undergraduate students’ engagement and learning experience during the gameplay. Results indicate that there were four major emergent themes, including self-reflection, reinforcement of learning, Lumiére as a game changer, and overcoming the obstacles. Regarding the instructors’ reflections and experiences, we suggest that instructors’ presence during the gameplay and the game design process might have a significant impact on the students’ learning experience.","PeriodicalId":417923,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Digital Educational Technology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139528130","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Ghana and many other African countries have declared online sports betting addictions among students as a national security emergency. Therefore, the researchers grounded this study on gaming theory, to explore the relationship between online sports betting addictions, academic achievements, and social relations among university students (n=245 & aged 18-25). The study adopted stratified random sampling to select 245 level 100 and 200 students, while five universities were purposively sampled. The universities include Ghana Telecommunication University, University of Professional Studies, Accra, University of Ghana, Ghana Communication University, and Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration. Regression analysis and structural modeling were adopted to test three hypotheses and validate the study model. The testing of H1 and H2 established a significant negative relationship between online sports betting addictions, academic achievement, and the social relationships of students. H3, however, reported some differences between male and female students’ online sports betting addictions and their social relations, as well as academic achievements. Based on the findings, this study concludes that online sports betting addictions among university students have negative academic and social relationship implications.","PeriodicalId":417923,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Digital Educational Technology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139129034","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Our main objective is to ensure that through this project, they not only gain a series of new tools, but that they can also learn both specific contents of the target subject: English as a foreign language in vocational formation in Spain. For this last objective, the use of multiple intelligences (MIs) in teaching can serve to destigmatize atypical intelligences. Atypical intelligences are understood as profiles that have historically stood out less in classic intelligence tests, which mainly measure logical-mathematical intelligence. This is because of the strong presence of this type of test throughout the 20th century and early 21st century that culturally more value has been given to individuals who stood out in types of intelligence like those rewarded by these IQ tests. Gardner (2011) noted the problem of putting the education system and MIs on the same plane: the fact that the education system primarily rewards linguistic and logical-mathematical skills, leaving the others in the background. As far as gamification is concerned, we could say that it is apparent that teaching-learning processes benefit from elements common to games, such as rewards, incentives, and social and individual reinforcement.","PeriodicalId":417923,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Digital Educational Technology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123856433","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
