However, they do not provide detailed verification to find the final cause of a failure. This paper presents a method for generating Web-page based troubleshooters that deal with troubles about computer system administration and networks. The generated troubleshooter provides a manual diagnosis and an automated diagnosis for users. The automated diagnosis provides not only the cause of the trouble but also a solution to fix it. In addition, administrators' knowledge and experience for troubleshooting can be easily embedded into this generator by using command tags.","PeriodicalId":417068,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Information Processing and Management","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114643883","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Here we take the help of a case study to understand how a specific pattern of requirement change influences project dynamics. By using system dynamics modeling we then investigate the impact of different resource management strategies on project quality assurance activity under the given requirement change pattern. Results indicate variations in quality metrics like error generation, error detection, quality assurance effort, etc depending upon how the different resource management policies impact the project dynamics under the given situation. Findings are expected to assist project managers in deciding on the workforce augmentation plan that favorably satisfies both organization's objectives and users' quality requirements.","PeriodicalId":417068,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Information Processing and Management","volume":"94 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-07-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131033731","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Lo","doi":"10.4156/IJIPM.VOL2.ISSUE3.5","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.4156/IJIPM.VOL2.ISSUE3.5","url":null,"abstract":"In a dynamic market environment, business owners are facing market saturation, accelerated elimination of products through competition, and a modern society that emphasizes differentiation. To avoid losing advantages and competitive capacity, businesses must provide diversified and combined services to achieve the synergistic effect of complementary services. A majority of wedding receptions in Taiwan are held as open-air banquets or in restaurants/hotels. Caterers design and decorate venues after verbal discussions with clients, not only becoming a lengthy and costly process, but also making the reception venue somewhat monontonous and unexciting. Menu selection is limited to the standard menu provided by the caterers, resulting in a lack of flexibility to accommodate customized changes. Because invited guests might visit a certain restaurant or hotel only once in their lifetime, great care is required for selecting the venue. If the day of the wedding must fall on an auspicious date, this means that other couples are likely hosting wedding receptions at the same venue on the same day. The venue parking lot may not be spacious enough to accommodate all the vehicles, signifying that the restaurant might have to rent another parking lot. For guests attending the wedding reception, locating the parking lots temporarily rented by the restaurant takes effort and is time consuming. Therefore, this study employed a service-oriented architecture (SOA) to integrate the three main heterogenous service systems developed by this study (the wedding venue decoration system, the banquet menu layout system, and the parking navigation and management system) for the establishment of a wedding reception information system. This system can serve as a digital system for caterers and restaurant business owners when hosting wedding receptions, enhancing their industry value and competitive market capacity in the food and dining industry. Restaurants and caterers can also provide innovative services by using this system, establishing their market position.","PeriodicalId":417068,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Information Processing and Management","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-07-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121689066","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We can obtain blogs including personal experiences using search engines on the Web. However, search engines output various blogs including not only personal experiences but also other topics. Therefore, it takes too much time to obtain personal experiences because we have to read all output blogs.. This paper proposes a support system for obtaining blogs including personal experiences. The system extracts three kinds of keywords that denote place, object, and action from a blog. The three keywords describe an event that is written in a blog with a personal experience. The system expresses an event with three kinds of pictures related to the each extracted keywords. The pictures help users to judge whether a personal experience is written in a blog or not. According to the experimental results, the system could support users to obtain personal experiences.","PeriodicalId":417068,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Information Processing and Management","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-07-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128212267","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
