The purpose of this paper is to develop a management that provides an improvement in the weighted average selling price. Methodology: it is assumed that market prices follow a diffusion process in which the drift and volatility coefficients are random functions of time. Under thegiven assumptions, using the stochastic differential equation theory we build a sales management in which only the prices of exchange transactions act as feedback. Findings: the management constructed in the present research allows the seller to hedge against sharp drops in market prices by artificially raising the weighted average selling price due to the implementation of a speculative trading strategy. Originality and contribution of the authors: in contrast to the management proposed earlier, this paper provides a lower limit on the minimum number of assets that must be traded, as well as constraints on the maximum possible number of assets allowed to be traded. Methodology: a mini-survey of 16 company executives was conducted on the most characteristic elements of the organizational climate, selected from a list compiled on the basis of an analysis of scientific publications. Quantitative data collected during a survey of 915 employees of an industrial company in 2022 Data analysis was carried out using multivariate statistical methods. Findings: statistically significant relationships between a number of organizational climate characteristics and burnout components were identified. The most important factor in the organizational climate turned out to be transformational leadership, which affects all three components of burnout (emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and evaluation of personal achievements). Organizational clarity is essential to reduce levels of depersonalization and increase the assessment of personal accomplishments and fruitful interactions with management and colleagues. The work organization has a strong impact on emotional exhaustion, and safety culture on the assessment of personal achievements. The presence of ethical practices in the company is significant, first of all, for a positive assessment of personal achievements, as well as for reducing the level of depersonalization. Originality and contribution of the authors: traditionally, the phenomenon of burnout has been studied at the individual level, the focus of researchers has been mainly employees of healthcare and educational institutions. Research methodology: the conceptual dominant of the research methodology is the statement about the possibility of considering human capital as a multi-parameter socio-resource component of the vector of sustainable innovative development of a modern organization. The validity of this statement is illustrated by the solving the poorly structured task of identifying the determinants of a decrease in the unemployment rate (one of the key parametric characteristics of human capital) that is relevant using a system of interrelated methods of system analysis and econometric modeling. Findings: evidence of the possibility of using expert-econometric tools for a comprehensive multifactorial assessment of the variation in the parametric characteristics of humancapital and the choice on its basis of priority areas for its development (increment); identification and ranking of statistically significant factors that determine the main vectors of the strategic policy for the development of human capital. Originality and contribution of the authors: this study substantiates the algorithm for systemic expert-econometric analysis of the determinants of human capital growth using the TOPSIS method, which has demonstrated effectiveness in terms of completeness, objectivity and clarity of the results of multi-criteria assessment in a complex system of managing the human resource component of sustainable innovation economic trends. Methodology: is based on the analysis of scientific sources on the duration of the strategy and the observation of business practices in this direction through surveys of enterprises on approaches to the formation of a strategy and the actual implementation of planned indicators. Findings: of the study showed that the implementation of a strategy is often associated with a revision of its main provisions and early abandonment in favor of a new one. This practice indicates the actual rejection of long-term planning in favor of medium-term or rolling planning. The strategy implementation period differs from the canonical five-year one. Methodology: an empirical study of the factors was carried out using a critical analysis of the scientific literature; model formalization was implemented using mathematical methods for modeling rational systems in accordance with the algorithm for formulating optimization models, converted for perishable raw materials. Findings: key themes of model modifications for manufacturing enterprises were identified; the required model is formulated; a numerical experiment was carried out and the sensitivity of the model parameters was revealed, the results of which can be applied to improve inventory management strategies in other sectors of the national economy. Methodology: panel regression with random effects and least squares methods are used to model the data. The sample includes 81 794 enterprises in the Russian manufacturing industry that were active during the postcrisis development of the Russian economy in 2011–2018. Findings: direct importers of industrial robots tend to be larger and more internationalized: they are owned by foreigners and export directly. In our study, we found that robot imports have a positive impact on both aggregate factor productivity and labour productivity. The results suggest that in the Russian manufacturing industry the effects of robots on productivity are more significant for non-leading enterprises, which are typically internationalized (exporters and enterprises with foreign capital) and import robots more frequently. Originality and contribution of the authors: in the Russian economy, this study represents the first attempt to assess the effects of industrial robots. Results show that industrial robots can be used to improve the competitiveness of the Russian economy and to close the productivity gap within industries. Methodology: econometric analysis of data from a survey of over 700 firms in Russian non-energy industries conducted in 2019. Findings: the technological leadership of Russian firms is positively related to their size, market power, implementation of innovations, primarily process ones, as well as R&D funding, including those performed by external contractors. Borrowing of advanced technologies is characteristic of both lagging companies and leaders. However, the latter are more open to external knowledge and active in searching for advanced solutions and practices, primarily abroad. Foreign direct investment contributes to catching-up technological development rather than to gaining leadership. A positive relationship between the proximity of firms to the technological frontier and their competitiveness is revealed: technology leaders, other things being equal, are characterized by higher labor productivity and export activity. In addition, leading firms were more likely than others to increase their productivity, output, market share and exports. Originality and contribution of the authors: while much attention is paid in the modern economic literature to the competitiveness of firms and their distance to the technological frontier, these issues are rarely considered in relation to each other. The study partially fills this gap. The authors apply an innovative approach to determining the proximity of firms to the technological frontier, based on a combination of the level of technologies used and the novelty of products (services) produced. Methodology: the authors use panel data analysis applied to a large array of information on the news of the 25 largest US medias, the Google Trends web application and the Twitter social network for the period from 2017 to 2022 for companies from the NASDAQ-100 index. Findings: the findings revealed that the popularity of the company on the Internet, the number of tweets, the information polarity in digital channels and the frequency of mentioning Robotics and CRM technologies signifi cantly positively affect company’s value. At the same time, the amount of news and information about Big Data technology has a negative impact on investor expectations. Originality and contribution of the authors: to the best of our knowledge this study is the first one introducing a definition of the company’s digital image and indicators for its measurement. Methodology: the research method is based on the identification of eight mutually exclusive groups, that differ in the combination of three types of job matches — from the full matched ones to the triple mismatched. Findings: all types of mismatches had a negative impact on satisfaction with nonmonetary labor characteristics. The most obvious negative relationship was found with professional satisfaction and moral satisfaction. Pay satisfaction is not influenced by overeducation and by the horizontal mismatch but it has been reduced by overskilling, separately or jointly with the two other types of mismatches. All kinds of mismatches (with the exception of a horizontal one) increase the probability of finding a job. Originality and contribution of the authors: the paper focuses on the combination of the three forms of mismatches and a multidimensional measure of job satisfaction. Such an approach made it possible to distinguish more effectively what facets of job satisfaction have been more influenced by mismatches. Furthermore, the paper increases understanding of the impact of job mismatches on non-monetary labor market outcomes. Mazurova","doi":"10.21638/spbu18.2023.202","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.21638/spbu18.2023.202","url":null,"abstract":"Goal: verification of the most popular hypotheses found in the world academic literature on High Growth Companies (HGCs) using Russian empirical data and statistics. Research methodology: desk research of publications; analysis of statistics from Ruslana, the database of Russian and Ukrainian companies (maintained by Bureau van Dijk — a Moody’s Analytics company) which contains financial indicators, tax reporting data, and other information; analysis of information from the Professional Market and Company Analysis System (SPARK) and Federal Institute of Industrial Property (Rospatent) databases on intellectual property ownership; and review of companies through formal questions in survey interviews. Findings: this study demonstrates the key contribution of the HGCs sector to economic growth: HGCs, which represent 15 % of the total number of companies with revenues and more than 10 employees, generate 60 % of the revenue growth of all Russian companies and employment growth from 1.5 million to 2.5 million in 2017–2020. In the past, 77 % of HGCs grew sporadically, which does not support the hypothesis of unsustainable growth for most HGCs and can be the basis for using the rapid growth criterion for selective government support of business entities. There is evidence that innovative companies have more stable rates of rapid growth over the five-year period prior to this research. Based on the company survey, an assumption is formulated about the high resilience of Russian HGCs to external shocks including pandemic, Russia’s military operations, and sanctions against the country, and the HGCs’ willingness to continue growth despite existing difficulties and risks. Originality and contribution of the authors: for the first time in Russia, this study analyzes the full set of Russian HGCs using a comprehensive statistical database. This allows us to compare HGCs from different industries and identify their industry-specific characteristics. In addition, we identify a group of innovative HGCs and show the characteristics of this type of companies.
