Stress is one of their main aggravating factor for headache across geographies, more so in millennials and females. Headache disorders are most troublesome in the productive years of life with lost working days and reduced productivity. Majority of those with headache have primary headache disorder especially migraine, tension-type headache and medication-overuse headache. Without proper treatment, headaches can be severe and interfere with day-to-day activities and can also become chronic or recurring affecting the well-being of an individual and predispose them to other illnesses. Self-care with simple analgesics in managing primary headache disorders can help reduce frequency of attack and severity with positive effect on physical symptoms and functional capacity. Paracetamol (acetaminophen) is a safe analgesic with good gastrointestinal tolerance and is recommended as 1 line treatment option to reduce pain in various conditions including primary headache disorders. Caffeine, a common additive to analgesic drugs is known to increase the analgesic potency. The anti-nociception enhancing effect of caffeine when given with acetaminophen significantly improves efficacy over use of only paracetamol.","PeriodicalId":415114,"journal":{"name":"IP Indian Journal of Neurosciences","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125795864","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

ACLS is a rare genetic disorder which may be autosomal recessive, however it usually occurs sporadically. A 20-day-old newborn was admitted to the pediatric clinic due to the discovery of corpus callosum agenesis during pregnancy. The fetal echocardiography revealed an ASD and moderate tricuspid regurgitation (TR). During limb assessment, right foot pre-axial polydactyly was noted, and skull exam revealed anterior fontanelle enlargement. The brain MRI showed agenesis of the corpus callosum and enlarged lateral ventricles. The parents had no consanguinity and their genetic test had shown no anomalies.The neurologist decided to monitor the neurological development of the child. The current case provides additional evidence that ACLS can be associated with pre-axial polydactyly and craniofacial symptoms including enlargement of the anterior fontanelle. Second-trimester ultrasonography can detect central nervous system malformations such as ventricular enlargement and corpus callosum anomalies. Moreover, Echocardiography is recommended to check for heart abnormalities in these children.","PeriodicalId":415114,"journal":{"name":"IP Indian Journal of Neurosciences","volume":"196 2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127025054","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The technique offers convenient quantifiable data plus information over normal, tumultuous, or probability and statistical stochastic properties of inherent systems dynamics theory. The R.Q.A-established processes as the quantifiable mathematical features of non-linear electroencephalograph signals dynamics. Average amount of mutual information (AAMI) applied to compute highly applicable feature-manifestation sub-sets out of R.Q.A-built centered-features. The chosen features were then fed into the computer using artificial intelligence based neural net-works for clustering the data of encephalograph-signals to identify ictic(i.e.,ictal), inter ictal, followed by state of controls. The study is implemented by validating R.Q.A with a data base for various issues of categorization. Results showed that the combination of five selected features created on AAMI attained the precision of100% and proves dominance of R.Q.A. Nonlinear dynamical control systems theory and analysis techniques centered on R.Q.A can be used as an appropriate methodology for distinguishing the non-linear systems dynamics of encephalograph signals data also epileptic seizures tracing.","PeriodicalId":415114,"journal":{"name":"IP Indian Journal of Neurosciences","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133081021","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

More than 20 million individuals worldwide are affected by it, making it the most prevalent type of dementia. An elusive memory loss, corresponding functional deterioration, and behavioral abnormalities are hallmarks of AD. AD is the most common cause of disability in the elderly and patients may survive for more than ten years after receiving their diagnosis. From its lowest level at ages 65 to 70 to rates that may approach 6 percent for those over the age of 85, the incidence of AD ranges from 1 to 4 percent of the population per year. Over a hundred novel products are currently undergoing clinical trials thanks to ayurvedic medicinal plants, which have shown to be the most fruitful source of leads or medication development. Indeed, the use of several Ayurvedic medicinal plants and their ingredients for treating Alzheimer's disease has been detailed in a number of scientific research. Phytochemical analyses of the various plant parts have revealed the presence of numerous valuable compounds, including lignans, flavonoids, tannins, polyphenols, triterpenes, sterols, and alkaloids, that exhibit a wide range of pharmacological activities, including anti-inflammatory, anti-amyloidogenic, anticholinesterase, hypolipidemic, and antioxidant effects. However, the precise mechanism of their action is still unclear. This study compiles studies on several medicinal plants that have demonstrated potential for correcting the pathology of Alzheimer's disease. The report provides sufficient baseline data that could be used in drug discovery campaigns and development processes, thereby providing new functional leads for Alzheimer's disease. It does this by summarizing information regarding the phytochemistry, biological, and cellular activities, as well as the clinical applications, of these various plants.","PeriodicalId":415114,"journal":{"name":"IP Indian Journal of Neurosciences","volume":"54 18","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120837473","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The choice of surgical strategy for such lesions is not straightforward. 46 year old female came to our institute with complaints of gradually intensifying headache since 3 months which had aggravated over a period of 5 days. MRI Brain with contrast was done which showed a large, well circumscribed, lobulated, midline, extra-axial lesion attached to the posterior third of the falx and the anterior lip of the tentorium. The surgical plan was to excise the infra tentorial portion, for which a Steins (supra cerebellar infra tentorial) approach was deployed. Attempts to approach the supratentorial portion by incising the tentorium were unsuccessful as the required trajectory was far too acute. The supra tentorial portion would have to be approached by a more cranial trajectory, and hence it was decided to tackle that portion at a second stage. Some tumors may not be amenable to total excision in a single sitting. This case is being reported to underline the importance of a delayed 2 stage approach to excise this complex genre of Falcotentorial meningiomas which invade the supra and infra tentorial compartments.","PeriodicalId":415114,"journal":{"name":"IP Indian Journal of Neurosciences","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128066063","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
