One of the possible public health problems is an adverse event, which needs ongoing recording, assessment, and surveillance. Drug regulations have improved and got stronger since the 1937 sulphanilamide tragedy and the1960 thalidomide disaster. As such response, a Pharmacovigilance System was developed, which is capable of receiving, diagnosing, evaluating, monitoring, and mitigating harmful effects of medical products. The Central Drug Standard Control Organization-CDSCO regulates India's pharmacovigilance system, whereas the United States Food and Drug Administration-USFDA regulates the US pharmacovigilance system. In India, the pharmacovigilance programme monitors adverse drug responses. India has a Pharmacovigilance Program in place to track adverse drug reactions. The United States likewise has strict laws in place to strengthen Food & Drug Administration (FDA) pharmacovigilance requirements. (WHO) -World Health Organization established an International Monitoring System in collaboration with (UMC) Uppsala Monitoring Centre.","PeriodicalId":41505,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Complementary Medicine Research","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76428441","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Some studies reported that the dominance leg is significant predictor for ACL injuries. However, it is unclear whether the dominant or non-dominant leg impacts functional status and psychological readiness to return to sport after ACL. The purpose of this study was to determine if there are difference in functional performance and psychological readiness to return to sport between individuals who injured their dominant leg and non-dominant leg after 1-10 years following ACL reconstruction. Methods: A cross-sectional study of 50 participants between 20 and 38 years was conducted, to investigate individuals who injured their dominant leg (n=25) and non-dominant leg (n=25) after 1-10 years following ACL reconstruction. All participants complete Anterior Cruciate Ligament Return to Sport after Injury (ACL-RSI), the Lower Extremity Functional Scale (LEFS) questionnaires and Fear Avoidance Belief Questionnaire physical activity (FABQ-PA). Results: No significant difference was found between the dominant leg and non-dominant leg groups in ACL-RSI, LEFS and FABQ-PA (U = 256, p = 0.27; U = 314.5, p = 0.96, and U=279.5 p=0.52) respectively. Conclusions: While it is essential to investigate the functional performance and patient's psychological state, dominance vs non- dominance leg does not influence these outcomes 1-10 years following ACL reconstruction. Therefore, injuries either dominance or non-dominance leg demonstrate equal long-term improvement. To enhance rehabilitation and optimize long-term functional outcomes for individual undergoing ACL reconstruction, future research should investigate other factors that impact recovery and return-to-sport outcomes.","PeriodicalId":41505,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Complementary Medicine Research","volume":"348 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75945053","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We will calculate the rates of remission, recurrence, and mortality. Also, we will determine the mean duration taken for normalization of β-hCG level after initiation of treatment, and the distribution of the disease by age and parity. Methods: Retrospective chart review of the patients diagnosed with gestational trophoblastic disease (GTD) and treated in King Khalid National Guard Hospital in the period between January 2000 and December 2005. Results: During the study period, there were 29 cases of gestational trophoblastic disease. The majority of the cases were non-metastatic GTD (55.2%) followed by, in decreasing order of frequency, molar pregnancy (24.1%), metastatic high-risk GTD (10.3%), metastatic low-risk GTD (6.9%) and placental-site trophoblastic tumor (3.4%). Patient's age ranged from sixteen to fifty-three years old, with the majority in the fourth decade of life (37.9%). The parity as well was highly variable from zero to fifteen, with the majority between five and ten (37.9%). Remission rate in the malignant GTD was 85.7%. There were no cases of recurrence during the follow-up period. The overall mortality rate was 3.4%. The mean duration required for normalization of β-hCG level was 10.3 weeks for molar pregnancy and 11.6 weeks for malignant GTD. Conclusion: The chemotherapy success rate, remission rate & mortality rate were similar to that reported in earlier studies. There is a need for patient education regarding strict follow-up for early detection and intervention of malignant sequelae.","PeriodicalId":41505,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Complementary Medicine Research","volume":"72 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77282362","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In particular, the possibility of developing contrast nephropathy with the use of X-ray contrast agents and the possibility of developing AKF as a result of the use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs is being studied. The authors investigate the main causes of acute kidney failure associated with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and give recommendations for the prevention of these complications. In particular, precautions are discussed when using contrast agents and the use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. The article also discusses various methods of diagnosis of acute kidney failure and methods of treatment of this condition. The authors emphasize that early detection and treatment of AKF can significantly reduce the risk of complications and improve the prognosis for patients. In addition, the article also emphasizes the importance of preventing acute kidney failure, especially in patients at increased risk of developing this condition, such as the elderly, patients with diabetic nephropathy and patients with concomitant diseases. The paper also discusses the need for further research to better understand the causes and mechanisms of the development of acute kidney failure during various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. In general, the article provides an overview of the problem of acute kidney failure as a complication of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and also offers practical recommendations to reduce the risk of this complication.","PeriodicalId":41505,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Complementary Medicine Research","volume":"8 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82482332","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
